They are extremely organized, their platform is user friendly and easy to navigate and they have excellent support to help guide you every step of the way! Tropic combines the support, contract amounts, renewals, and points of contact in one place to put us in a position were we can be more proactive about renewals. Our representatives at Tropic have been amazing at making sure our workflows are built out exactly how we need them. What problems is Tropic solving and how is that benefiting you? As an IT Manager, I have a small team and do not have the resources to dedicate time to negotiations for SaaS spend for each vendor. Tropic helps take that off my plate and prevents the need to onboard a procurment role specifically to reduce our annual spend. Our savings so far have nearly paid for the cost of Tropic with the added benefit of a procurment tracking platform that keeps all our renewals/onboards and contracts in one spot for quick reference. Tropic helps keep track of all of our SaaS services. They have a portal where your agreement details are added so you can be mindful of when your opt-out periods are, the general terms, and when renewal is. It visually keeps your team accountable to be on top of their contracts so that things don't just automatically renew. This portal is available for all your SaaS services, not just for the software they help manage and negotiate for you. For the services they manage and negotiate for us, I love having someone manage that process. My team (employees in our company) is generally not good at negotiating terms on a contract. They tend to shy away from the necessary back and forth that is needed. So it's helpful having folks at Tropic step in for us to handle that and push for terms that are best for us. They have a data set that also lets them know if the terms are on par with what others are receiving. Tropic's team and customer support has been great. Very responsive to our needs and are timely in responses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Tropic? It can be a little murky or difficult to exactly quantify the savings they helped you achieve. So you will want to make sure that you keep tabs on what costs would have been before vs. what they negotiated down. Nothing nefarious going on here, it's just that different people may start with different baselines. Contract renewals with them can get a little prickly too if you feel they haven't achieved the savings you wanted in the prior year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. My team is horrible at contract negotiation and we've had a few contracts just auto-renew that we didn't intend on (hate those evergreen clauses!). Tropic has stepped in to negotiate, on our behalf, our SaaS spend and ensure we are getting the best terms (whether it be reduced pricing, expanded tiers, flexible invoice and payment terms, etc.). They also remind us when contract opt-out periods are near and when we need to renew or drop a SaaS provider. Even for tools we use, but they don't actively negotiate, we can have them added to the dashboard so we're always aware of when those trigger dates are near. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. I am not the strongest negotiator, and I like that I am able to be removed from the back and forth negotiations and chatter with vendors. I get to stay focused on doing my job! Once I submit a Tropic ticket, I remain pretty hands up, but it's hard for me to gauge who else is getting looped into the negotiations, who else is needed, what a hold-up or obstacle might be.
