What I like most is that I have access to my statements and any forms. Anything HR needs to send out is either on my laptop or, when I'm mobile, on my phone, so I have access to both on my mobile device and on my laptop. I use both daily. I use my laptop when I'm at home or in the office, but if I'm traveling or out in the field, I use my cellular device because it's most helpful. The clocking in and out is the most important for me, especially for lunch or when I'm having a flex day where I work part of the day, clock out, and clock back in for the rest of my day when I'm out in the field. I like being able to clock in and out without dragging my laptop everywhere. Plus there's a timer on it, so I'll know when I need to clock back in. It helps me have a clear expectation of my payroll and my time sheets along with my colleagues and other employees. They're able to clock in and out from their phone or their personal laptops, and it lets us know when there's a missing time punch that needs to be corrected. I do like the TriNet perks. It's a good platform to use, pretty easy and pretty self explanatory. I feel like most HR platforms have the same functionality, and I think that's a good thing. I wouldn't want TriNet to be super different than my ADP or something crazy. I like how it's really easy to use, so don't change that. This is my first full time job and I'm pretty young, so I can navigate the website pretty easily. The setup was pretty easy. I had some struggles opening my account when I first started, but I think that was a technology error on TriNet's end rather than an actual issue with the platform or website. I use TriNet for payroll, benefits, and 401k, and it saves me both time and money. I like how user friendly it is, and I like having all my benefits in one home page. When I needed to retrieve my group and member ID for my kids' appointments, I was able to easily get it from both the web interface and the mobile app. The initial setup was very easy. The only thing I find a bit of a hassle is the employment verification having to be requested from the source. Outside sources are not always on top of emails to fill out a request on their end. I think the bigger downside of TriNet is in using my FSA funds. I get rejects for providing credit card receipts, and that isn't sufficient enough. Instead, I have to provide a benefits statement from my insurer, etc., and sometimes those numbers don't even match up. Also sometimes, it's unclear what the deadline dates are for submitting responses, evidence, etc. The other item I've recently identified is that TriNet doesn't automatically update vacation hours that I should be alotted in accordance w/ our employee PTO/vacation policies. For instance, new hires that are not VP/Director levels are hired w/ 20 days off, but get an additional 2 days after each year of service up to 27 days off per year. However, I've been with the company for 1 year and my current vacation time still reflects only the 20 days off per year-- and now I have to request HR for clarification. Because it is a one stop shop, the homepage can get a little crowded. Certain tabs such as resources could be smaller or separate from the homepage to prevent crowding. Tabs such as Resources, Notices, and even Holidays could be formatted as a drop-down tab instead of the rectangular boxes they are currently in. This would be helpful. Trinet’s reporting tool is not intuitive. The UI for certain features—especially the self-service portal for submitting cases—is very difficult to use and navigate. The integration between their time & attendance tool and payroll also feels sloppy. Specifically, approved time off does not auto-populate into the timesheet, which can result in employees getting paid for hours they did not work. What I dislike most about TriNet is that some parts of the platform can feel a bit dated compared to newer HR software.
