"User-Friendly Payroll with Stellar Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about TriNet?

I use TriNet for payroll, benefits, and 401k, and it saves me both time and money. I like how user friendly it is, and I like having all my benefits in one home page. When I needed to retrieve my group and member ID for my kids' appointments, I was able to easily get it from both the web interface and the mobile app. The initial setup was very easy. The customer support rep was amazing and has been with me every step of the way. It's simple and easy to use with a reasonable price, which is why we are trying to use it with our portfolio companies too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet?

{"I find there is some lack of clarity on when things happen, especially when starting the 401k with Empower, which is an attachment through TriNet.","I never got an exact timeline schedule from the team and kept following up on when something was live or due, etc.","It made things confusing for me when communicating to the team."} Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"TriNet Makes Everything Easy to Find and Navigate"
5/5
What do you like best about TriNet?

What I love most about TriNet is how convenient and straightforward it is! Everything is organized to a tee and easy to navigate through. I love mostly how I can find everything I need without having to reach out to my employer directly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet?

The only thing I find a bit of a hassle is the employment verification having to be requested from the source. Outside sources are not always on top of emails to fill out a request on their end. It would be much more convenient to have access to an employment or income verification that can be used both for personal and outsourced use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ashley Dyslin of TriNet

We're so glad you love how convenient and straightfoward TriNet is to use, Jonai! We appreciate your feedback about verification and will share with our team.

"TriNet’s All-in-One Hub is a Lifesaver!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about TriNet?

Yes-- this--100%!!! TriNet provides an all-in-one solution for all HR related items/requests that I can refer back to all the time w/o having to send emails and remember different passwords for platforms, to HR/my boss to request time off/get paycheck information, benefits information, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet?

I think the bigger downside of TriNet is in using my FSA funds. I get rejects for providing credit card receipts, and that isn't sufficient enough. Instead, I have to provide a benefits statement from my insurer, etc., and sometimes those numbers don't even match up. Also sometimes, it's unclear what the deadline dates are for submitting responses, evidence, etc. The other item I've recently identified is that TriNet doesn't automatically update vacation hours that I should be alotted in accordance w/ our employee PTO/vacation policies. For instance, new hires that are not VP/Director levels are hired w/ 20 days off, but get an additional 2 days after each year of service up to 27 days off per year. However, I've been with the company for 1 year and my current vacation time still reflects only the 20 days off per year-- and now I have to request HR for clarification. "User-Friendly HR Platform with Streamlined Onboarding"
5/5
What do you like best about TriNet?

I like that TriNet is very user-friendly. The layout, with each tab on the left-hand side, makes it easy to access tasks quickly and efficiently, which is great for onboarding and beyond. TriNet also lets me see how much I'm making with each paycheck, access my benefits quickly, and look at my company tree to know the names I should during important meetings. The initial setup was very simple, which was a big plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet?

Because it is a one stop shop, the homepage can get a little crowded. Certain tabs such as resources could be smaller or separate from the homepage to prevent crowding. Tabs such as Resources, Notices, and even Holidays could be formatted as a drop-down tab instead of the rectangular boxes they are currently in. This would be helpful. "Great Compliance Support, But Reporting and Time-Off Sync Need Work"
3.5/5
What do you like best about TriNet?

Trinet has really improved its service and resources over the last eight years that I’ve been a client. They especially make compliance easy when you’re hiring across multiple states. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet?

Trinet’s reporting tool is not intuitive. The UI for certain features—especially the self-service portal for submitting cases—is very difficult to use and navigate. The integration between their time & attendance tool and payroll also feels sloppy. Specifically, approved time off does not auto-populate into the timesheet, which can result in employees getting paid for hours they did not work. I’ve raised this issue with our Account Manager many times, and it doesn’t seem to be something that’s on their roadmap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly and Efficient, with Room for Minor Improvements"
5/5
What do you like best about TriNet?

I like that TriNet is really user friendly and easy to navigate. It tracks all the PTO that was requested, approved, and cancelled, which is great for record keeping. I appreciate the Time and Attendance feature because I use it daily to clock in and out. It's very clear and shows the week at a glance, which lets me stay on top of my hours. The initial setup was very quick and easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet?

Sometimes the days off that my company are celebrating do not match the days off that TriNet is celebrating, such as MLK Day. We did not have it off, but when you logged in, it showed that we were off, which caused some confusion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy HR Management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about TriNet?

What I like best about TriNet is that it brings payroll, benefits, HR, and compliance tools together in a single platform, making it easy to manage employee-related processes. The UI is intuitive and easy to navigate, allowing employees and administrators to quickly find the information they need. Integration with payroll, benefits, and other business systems helps reduce manual work and improves efficiency.

From a performance standpoint, the platform is generally reliable and responsive, even when handling routine HR and payroll tasks. TriNet provides strong value by helping businesses streamline administrative processes and gain access to services that might otherwise require significant internal resources. The onboarding process is well structured, and support resources are helpful when questions arise.

I also appreciate the continued investment in automation and intelligent features that simplify common HR tasks and reporting. Overall, TriNet offers a strong combination of usability, functionality, and business value for organizations looking to simplify workforce management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet?

What I dislike most about TriNet is that some parts of the platform can feel a bit dated compared to newer HR software. While the core functionality is solid, finding certain documents or settings isn't always as intuitive as it could be. I also wish there were more flexibility in reporting and customization without needing additional support.

The integrations generally work well, but getting everything set up exactly how you want can take some effort. From a pricing perspective, TriNet delivers value, but the cost may feel high for smaller companies that don't need the full range of services. Support is usually helpful, though resolution times can sometimes be slower than expected for non-urgent issues.

I'd also like to see more AI-driven features, such as smarter search, proactive recommendations, and better self-service tools. Overall, none of these are deal-breakers, but they're areas where the platform could continue to improve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Navigation and All-in-One HR Hub for Time Off, Benefits, and Payments"
5/5
What do you like best about TriNet?

I find it very easy to navigate and find items that may not be so obvious using the search and chat feature. I also enjoy how I can set up my payment preferences quickly, submit my benefits enrollment and keep tabs of upcoming paid holidays and my time off accruals in one spot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet?

I like it very much so far and enjoy also being able to find the org chart in one spot in addition to all the other HR benefits it provides. If anything, maybe some more videos on the dashboard, but overall I really enjoy the experience the platform provides. It may benefit from some more AI agents. What do you like best about TriNet?

I like that everything is in one place. Payroll, certifications and licenses, policies, time off, expenses. It's all convenient! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet?

Because there is so much, sometimes it's confusing where to go for certain needs, and/or there are whole features I'm completely unaware of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Payroll with Outstanding Usability"
5/5
What do you like best about TriNet?

I like using TriNet for pay, benefits, and as a central hub for anything payroll-related. It replaced our old system and provides clarity on payroll distribution. Onboarding new employees is very easy with TriNet. The dashboard view is clean, responsive, and organized, and the quick-find sidebar is helpful, making changes easy and enhancing the user experience. I also appreciate finding things clearly labeled at the perfect header level, with each page containing just the right amount of credible information needed by the end user. The initial setup was very simple, and I would rate my likelihood of recommending TriNet as a 10 without a doubt. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet?

Trying to find benefits in the beginning was easier, now it seems to have gone away, making it hard to elect my benefits. It needs to be easier to search for, or I'm not sure if there was an update. Just a few days after joining, it was difficult to locate where to elect my medical, dental, and vision benefits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
