I prefer it over using Fabrication Services within Revit. When you get your fittings and specs set up right, work flows well. **What do you dislike about Trimble SysQue?** I'm not too fond of Sysque Revit for ductwork. I like to have more control over what fittings I use for different situations, and Sysque does not work well that way. Another thing I have a problem with is I work for a mechanical contractor without a fabrication shop, so I have to send my orders of ductwork to many different shops. When the shop I send to does not use Trimble Fabshop software, they cannot open my files and have to use the fittings sheets generated through Sysque. Most of the sheets work fine except for the transitions. The offset is measured from the bottom to the center, which causes a lot of confusion. **What problems is Trimble SysQue solving and how is that benefiting you?** Trimble Sysque makes workflow fast when detailing piping systems. The amount of content they offer for fittings, pipe, valves, etc speeds up drawing complex systems. ### 2. However, the library is sadly lacking in the ability to do searches. It is also useful for spooling though I mostly only use it to generate the spool sheet and its associated schedules for the reason described in the dislike section. I greatly like it"s potential but rarely get far enough to explore to that degree. Crashes are random and I can see no definitive action that causes the crash. It has crashed streching a pipe with a grip, copying objects, changing property values, placing couplings, changing system and even when saving. Yesterday it crashed more than 20 times in 4 hours. After the last crash I didn't load and no crashes for the rest of the day. **What do you dislike about Trimble SysQue?** The biggest downside is the fact that SYSque crashes Revit, a lot. I've found that I have to bear with it until I get what families I need, then continue without loading SYSQUE. When I don't load SYSQUE (I realize some part of it is always loaded into REVIT), Click exit at the SYSQUE login splash screen I have nearly no REVIT crashes. I suspect if SYSQUE were completely removed I would have 0 crashes. **What problems is Trimble SysQue solving and how is that benefiting you?** None, it's a useful tool when it's not crashing. ### 3. Fixes like adding a pause button to the program to alleviate issues are a poor band aid that points to a more significant problem that cannot be fixed. The pause feature is just the beginning of deeper issues in development, testing and quality assurance. We are hesitant to upgrade to the newest releases because Sysque continues to be without a viable option to transition software upgrades from one version to another when there are such drastic changes/improvements in the middle of a project. **What problems is Trimble SysQue solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problems they have attempted to solve have come with roadblocks. Their latest releases have come out to improve efficiency and performance, which is excellent. But these improvements and new content cause significant rework on the user side to implement the changes. Implementing these changes in the middle of a project requires considerable oversight that project timelines don't allow for. Many of the problems Sysque decides to focus on are not items that have benefitted our company. ### 4. The time saving we get by using Sysque to automate most of our BIM tasks helps our daily workflow. The programs allows the user/modeler to focus more on the coordination rather than tagging each piece and producing all the necessary items for our Spool Drawings. **What do you dislike about Trimble SysQue?** There is not much to dislike. The tool is really what we precisely needed if I had to choose a negative item. Then it would be the automatic processing after you finish modeling when your press "ESC." I would rather keep drawing and then initiate the process of turning the generic items into Sysque items. **What problems is Trimble SysQue solving and how is that benefiting you?** It solves the library of Revit families we need from the manufacturer's website instead; it is all native with Sysque. It adds more into the time we save and goes back to the efficiencies ### 5. They work better than ITM's in REVIT. Trimble seems to have a good-for-everyone approach as their competition handles specific tasks with more depth, but not the entire process like Trimble has with SysQue. I performed a REVIT transition in the company in 2019/2020 and went with SysQue based on a thorough evaluation of the competition. While we do not utilize all of the bells and whistles they create, they still have a robust catalog that we do not have to maintain internally. The cost of the catalog comes from staff keeping it or a solution like SysQue, and SysQue is a fixed cost without a benefits package. We generally utilize REVIT schedules and other out-of-the-box features that sysque also offers to keep things simple and organized. **What do you dislike about Trimble SysQue?** What I like least about SysQue is they limit information to generic Revit schedules. Also, I wouldn't say I like the speed in which some tasks take; as I said earlier, others do specific things better and faster, and spooling is one of them. Large projects can be slow to spool. The last thing I dislike is the lack of advancement features over the last few years. I am always looking for more from the department and the software; quite frankly, they seem stagnant. **What problems is Trimble SysQue solving and how is that benefiting you?** SysQue solves our need for industry-specific content and spooling processes in a REVIT model. I've had a relatively good experience with the people behind the tech when I had an issue with the program. This is the reason for the higher-end rating. The fact that they are willing to spend some time with you and figure out the issue is remarkable, giving you a good indication of where the software is headed and a genuine sense of the intention behind the product. **What do you dislike about Trimble SysQue?** Like any software, it has its quirks. I think one of the main things I'd like to see is having a more updated, comprehensive database for equipment. I realize this is a tall task, but if you need equipment fairly soon, there is a submittal process. Most of our company's projects move at an accelerated pace, so we can't wait as long to see the submittal process through. It is constantly trying to access the Trimble server, which causes lag. That and the database to find files is outdated and annoying. It gives us the ability to model piping runs how we would like to install them and the ability to see if it will work in the real world. Also, that gives us the ability to fabricate accurately. Our field guys have used to the 3D Navisworks model to pull dimensions and have made the comment that it felt like they were cheating with how easy and accurate the measurements showed. **What do you dislike about Trimble SysQue?** I wish that the hangers showed bangers on the ends. That would allow us to see if there would be any potential conflicts with the locations of them. I also wish that the spooling function was more streamlined. **Recommendations to others considering Trimble SysQue:** The support is very helpful. Use them if you encounter issues. **What problems is Trimble SysQue solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are modeling more accurately, quicker, and able to generate hanger and sleeve point files. The more we use it the more we are able to setup company standards and improve our workflow. ### 33. The Support and Array of tools is second to none. **What do you dislike about Trimble SysQue?** Trimble is not the cheapest!!!! We have found a few fitting that do not come in the project correctly and a few issues with spooling. We requested the generation of a new family of parts and it took almost 6 months to get that completed, meanwhile the job had to move on and get built!!! **Recommendations to others considering Trimble SysQue:** Research and make sure the this product fills your needs. Spend the $$ on a weeks of training after completing the 40 hours of onlie training., **What problems is Trimble SysQue solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Trimble from the start of the project using our 3d Scanner to establish boundaries of work areas and existing conditions, all the way through design and spool drawings utilizing Revit and SysQue. This allows us to see problems prior to fabrication and correct these issues allowing us to fabricate items off site saving time and money ### 34. Trimble SysQue is the only solution on the market that will allow you to do so. **What do you dislike about Trimble SysQue?** In early years processing speed was slow, but in the past year this was corrected along many other improvements. After 6 years of development, the product has finally reached maturity. **What problems is Trimble SysQue solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being able to do all the coordination and prefab without leaving the Revit platform eliminate mistakes that can accrue due to jumping back and forth from a CAD platform to Revit. ### 36. The program also creates spool drawings for our shop to build prefabricated assemblies for delivery to the field. The software creates points that integrate with our Trimble Robotic Total Station for field layout. **What do you dislike about Trimble SysQue?** Right now the software is much more stable than it was in the past. I do not have any negative comments on the software as currently built especially when it is paired with Revit 2019. The one prerequisite for this software is the need to know Revit very well. **Recommendations to others considering Trimble SysQue:** If you want to Design and Prefab in Revit, this is the software for your company. **What problems is Trimble SysQue solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Revit exclusively which is preferred if not required on most of the projects that we are bidding. We won a bid on a large pharmaceutical plant because we can design and Prefab in Revit. ### 37.
