Module section helps to organize & maintain screen objects very efficiently. TCD section is a nice way of handling data driven test design. Tosca provides perfect traceability of Requirements with Testing with weightage which allows Test Managers to get an overview of progress and perform right amount of testing.

Additionally, Tosca can be integrated with third party tools for CI/CD capabilities and accessing cloud based solutions bringing testing closer to developers in order to achieve end to end goals. Moreover, with Standard Modules provided by Tricentis a wide of application can be automated.

Tricentis Tosca is a evolving with every version. However, there are some generic challenges in Tosca way of automation.

One of the challenges is heavy dependency on Tricentis support team for issues faced on real time projects. There are very less open forums and Teams need to connect with the support team for resolution which can be time consuming. Additionally, Support Team needs logs for troubleshooting which can be difficult to share in restricted projects like banking and insurance.

Tricentis Tosca is a very heavy tool and need high configuration machines to perform well. For legacy teams with limited resources, Tosca can be quite challenging.

Tosca has two frameworks - Classic & TBox. In end to end work flows which involves both the frameworks, switching between the two frameworks introduces a lag which in turn hampers Automation Script performance. Tricentis is converting the engines built in Classic framework to TBox framework with every release.

It is a module based scriptless testing tool, which has a great potential for reusability of modules in multiple testcases, provides inbuilt solutions for managing test data, makes it very easy to see the overall coverage testcases provide with respect to requirements and testcases can be executed in multiple machines from a single server.
