It provides fine-grained administrative controls for each user or group of users. It also makes secure file-sharing easy, even for our clients who aren't tech-savvy. **What do you dislike about Tresorit?** Like any cloud service, actions are synced across all users' devices, so if a team member accidentally deletes/moves an entire folder, that action is replicated for all users and can require somewhat tedious efforts to restore the files. However, the backup system has always been reliable and enabled a full recovery whenever we've made this kind of mistake. **What problems is Tresorit solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tresorit's zero-knowledge architecture allows us to store sensitive files in the cloud without concern that Tresorit's staff or some third party may be able to view them. I never have to worry about my files going missing or failing to update from laptop to phone to tablet with Tresorit Drive. It has a very simple interface, yet is a very powerful tool when it comes to data protection. It allows me to create a secure, user friendly portal for clients to access files that I want them to access, and also provides a way for them to return files encrypted and securely without having to email them, which negates issues and restrictions such as large file sizes and lack of security. **What do you dislike about Tresorit?** I'd like there to be more flexibility when it comes to how long links and portals are valid before they time out. It would be great to have the opportunity to have more options when sorting folders and files. Tresorit in its current state is very user friendly, but is also simple to the point of missing some basic features which would make the software even more user friendly. It would be great to be able to select a specific timeframe for a link or portal to be active for before it times out and is no longer accessible without issuing a brand new link and password. **What problems is Tresorit solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tresorit allows my colleagues and me to send confidential files and documents to clients and business partners in a fast, yet highly secure way. It removes the need to use slow, clunky, and difficult to use email portal websites. An equally helpful feature that every cloud service provider should have standard is to have control over where a tresor (or directory) is saved on your PC, and also to make any directory on your PC a tresor. (Instead of having one dedicated directory in which your entire cloud lives.) I also like that there is a good Linux client. **What do you dislike about Tresorit?** There are only two things I don't like about Tresorit. 1. The Linux client is weird. It lives in your home directory with a built in updater instead of being managed by your package manager. 2. Tresorit is not commonly used. I have so far only once properly shared a tresor with someone. All other times I had to share a link with them with a painful: download the entire zip every time there's an update. Unfortunately, very few people are security and privacy-conscious. They just don't care so they use Google instead. They were unwilling to create a Tresorit account because they would have to pay just to see what I share (larger than the free 1 GiB), even though I already pay for the storage of those shared files. **What problems is Tresorit solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having control over where my files end up, I can share them with a specific person and I can see when some unknown person has opened the link that was shared. I can disable downloads to prevent or make it difficult to distribute what I share. It is also just a great and convenient cloud solution to distribute files over my devices that works nicely on Linux. ### 5. Perhaps the GUI could use a redesign. You can easily integrate your Tresorit drive to your File Manager (both Windows and macOS). Tresorit's file version manager can be a lifesaver, and it works very smoothly. **What do you dislike about Tresorit?** Sometimes the desktop app randomly logs out without any notification. It would be great to have a bigger space so I can put all my current HDs in the cloud. E.g. : 10 TB or more. As a save backup cloud for big amounts of data. For some reason, one of my users is still able to save documents in Tresorit after she has been logged out, but those documents don't show up as visible to other users. First the ability to create as many root folders ("Tressors") as you want and to place these wherever you want on your local file system allows me to have different file stores for different domains and to sync these with different machines according to my needs. It lets me separate these concerns which makes it convenient to manage and use. The other feature that is fantastic is the ability to set up a link that lets people deposit files securely in my file store. I need to receive large files from many different people frequently and being able to give them a simple web address that lets them send me their file makes it easy for me to get the files and easy for the people sending the files, especially if they aren't especially technically savvy or if they don't have an established file sharing mechanism of their own. I also really appreciate the ability to recover older versions of files or files that have been inadvertently deleted. **What do you dislike about Tresorit?** One thing that I wish Tresorit would improve is their Outlook add-in. I have desktop computers in my office and a laptop that travels with me to client sites and other remote locations. Having access to these files wherever I need them, whenever I need them, without worrying about copying files to different computers and managing different versions of the same files. You don't need to change your current folder and files organization, because Tresorit fit with and around it perfectly. Security relies on best practice standards and Swiss regulations: top of the world. Finally, sharing allows a granular control both in terms of permissions and shareable objects. They lastly added a feature that increases sharing features even if they didn't provided an automatic or self-assisted migration procedure. **What do you dislike about Tresorit?** The roadmap is too slow and pricing is not adequate for the set of features and cloud space provided. Collaboration features are not yet complete. The migration procedure is too complicated. Collaboration and integration are the big lack of Tresorit solution, considering also the price. Tresorit has the finest and good level of sharing and governance, but the most common collaboration features are almost totally lacking. Generally, they are not as fast as competitors in enhancing their solutions. It could be acceptable if they already provide a widely filled solution, but not so much considering today's general quality of solutions available in the market. Finally migrating data to a new or different account is technically complicated. I think it is right it requires administration checks and authorization, but technically it should be smooth, while it requires almost rebuilding storage from scratch. **What problems is Tresorit solving and how is that benefiting you?** It provides good governance of cloud storage and data are easily available on both mobile and desktop. The learning curve is pretty fast and almost amazing. If you need to ensure your data and share it securely and reliably with stakeholders, you can do that with maximum available technical and compliance standards. In many other products, the missing upload will simply be forgotten. Customer service is always helpful and they are always adding features. **What do you dislike about Tresorit?** I haven't found anything yet. I love that I can get old versions of files. **What problems is Tresorit solving and how is that benefiting you?** I don't have to pay for all the craziness of Rackspace or worry about having a server onsite. Our IT costs are significantly decreased. ### 50.
