The fact that we had to upgrade PCs just so Trend can run without taking hours of chugging along or using 20-30% of resources and leaving the endpoint useless for anyone who needed to use it. It also felt a bit clunky in the back end - like best of breed but from 10 years ago, and the reporting is not what the Exec really want to see. I am very satisfied with Trend Micro and their Apex One solution installed on more than 17,000 workstations spread over several installations (nearly 250). For pre-installation support and throughout the deployment, we had high availability from the support team. When we ask for troubleshooting on a problem related to the application, we have an instant response, which allows us to continue without a hitch. As soon as there are new threats, we are informed quickly and the fixes are quickly applied. For the security of our IT park, I recommend Trend Micro Apex One to everyone. We recently moved from OfficeScan on-premises to Apex One as a Service (AOSaaS), and like the frequency of updates realized through the cloud offering, and find that the interface is easy to navigate and configure. Trend Micro has recently combined features from multiple products into Apex One, allowing more functionality within a single agent. For example, we use the "vulnerability protection" feature, which protects against recent unpatched vulnerabilities. When we had an on-premises system, we found it easy to miss patches and updates, which came out rather frequently. With the cloud version, we miss the ability to push scans and software updates from the server to endpoints. Integrations with other cloud applications seem to be lacking as well. For example, we've experienced complications attempting to integrate with cloud SIEM systems via API. It would also be great if the Active Directory sync agent would sync more than just Active Directory structure. It would be ideal if the application could synchronize AD user accounts for authentication as well. Currently, ADFS is required to sync user accounts to AOSaaS.
