Trend Micro is a great virus protection software. It runs automatically at startup and periodically to find any threats. If something is found it will automatically get rid of the malicious file and deliver you a report. You have the option to keep the file if you know what it is and actually want to keep it. It is very easy to use and install, very fast in analyses, and has very low RAM consumption for being a complete suite.
