We have been using the Deep Discovery Inspector for some time; the problem that arises with Deep Discovery Inspector is when it's not connected to the internet since it cannot upload the logs to the Threat Management Services Portal (TMSP) for further analysis. TM Deep Discovery Inspector (DDI) provides usable dashboards such as threats at a glance, top affected hosts, threats summary, scanned malicious traffic by protocol. The only downside is that for our solution version, it was not yet capable to do SSL decryption, although I think the newer appliances are now capable to decrypt SSL traffic. As a network sandbox, I decrypt network traffic and feed it to the DDI for analysis to detect any ongoing attacks if any. When Deep Discovery Inspector is not connected to the internet, then we need to build a Smart Protection Server so the deep discovery inspector can update components from it. Due to no internet connection, Virtual Analyzer has to analyze more files because it can't connect to the GRID.
