## About Treehouse
Treehouse is an online technology school that offers beginner to advanced courses in web design, web development, mobile development and game development taught by a team of expert teachers. Its courses are aimed at beginners looking to learn coding skills and embark on a career in the tech industry. In May 2016, Treehouse launched the Techdegree program, a comprehensive learning program focused on helping people learn the skills they need to start a tech career. Through earning a Techdegree certification, a student will challenge themselves, deepen their skills, and prove their knowledge to potential employers. All in 6-12 months, on their own schedule. Treehouse believes that understanding, communicating with and controlling technology is a fundamental skill that everyone should have the opportunity to learn. Through learning with Treehouse, each student is given the opportunity to learn the valuable skills they need — whether they have existing, little or no previous experience — to confidently take control of their future.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

There is nothing to dislike , on my end, it has allowed to meet eye to eye with many developers across the company and update my skillset in the pursuit of a career in tech wih a higher chance of getting there than I would through learning on some other platforms

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves my issues in pursuing a career in tech by providing high level content on topics such as AI, python web development, Data Analaysis as well as many other topics that allow you get into the tech world more easily and see it as less intimidating

 ### 2. Treehouse evangelist

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel C. | Senior Front-End Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

Treehouse makes tech feel accessible. I appreciate that there are courses in topics from Computer Literacy to App development. Having options like that on the same platform made me feel like I belonged in the field, which is a big deal in a world where imposter syndrome is so common. I never felt like an imposter trying to teach myself to code here, I didn't have to feel embarrassed about how little I knew starting out. The courses made sense to me then, and 3 years later as a fully self-taught, fully employed Senior Front End Developer, I am still growing by using treehouse.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

The only thing I've ever really wanted for on treehouse is practice problems. I know between videos you have quiz style practice, which is great, but having a database of practice problems, filterable by topic, would be incredible. If you've heard of the platform edabit.com - their whole deal is practice problems and I love them so much. Maybe you could acquire them and connect the two. I would die. Their platform is buggy but I love the idea and the UI.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The desire for freedom in my career pushed me into coding, but the field felt impossible to break into. Treehouse is instrumental in bridging that gap for people who feel like I did (and do). I had no experience at all in tech, no degree... I was starting from absolute zero. I was one of the few people in my generation who didn't use myspace.. so I had never even seen HTML or CSS before. Here I am three years later, a Senior Front End Developer still using treehouse, and it continues to be challenging and relevant coursework. I haven't even begun to scratch the surface of everything I want to learn, and new courses come out all the time. For one platform to be so relevant to someone as baby level as I was then and still relevant to me and people way beyond me is incredibly unique. And at $25 a month?? You can't beat that. It's so affordable.

 ### 3. A wonderful platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard A. | Pizza Cook, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

TeamTreeHouse was one of the first websites I came across when I started to learn to program. The layout of the website is very crisp and the videos are very well done and go into a thorough explanation of the topic.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

Sometimes I feel like the scope of the lessons and the tech degree are a bit narrow. I took the Python development track and felt like even though it gave good fundamentals, there could have been more.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Overall, I feel like Treehouse is geared more towards beginners and that's where I think it shines. Although they do provide more advanced topics, I feel like they do a better job when it comes to introducing people who are new to coding.

 ### 4. High production quality and great for developers of varying experience levels

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben B. | Sr. SEO Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

Before starting the Front-End Web Development course I had a semi-technical background as an SEO. I was familiar with the basics of front-end web development but didn’t really understand the nuts and bolts, or where to start looking to improve my comprehension.

Treehouse’s organized course layout and excellent instructor-led videos were exactly what I needed to bring my understanding to the next level. Being able to code along while you learn new functions and concepts was a very intuitive way to learn. I enjoyed building a small website totally from scratch alongside the instructor, as this was a confidence-inspiring way to get the fundamentals down.

After finishing the course - I felt as if I was equipped with what I needed to start working on my own projects and building a portfolio website to demonstrate my capabilities. Treehouse does a great job of providing its learners with valuable supplemental resources for you to lean on when you inevitably stumble upon something you don’t exactly know how to do just yet.

All-in-all, I was very impressed. I found the whole experience to be a bargain for what you pay!

I’m looking forward to taking some more intermediate-level courses covering API’s and Ruby.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

I didn't find many shortcomings in my experience. This is a stretch, but supplying even more supplementary resources would be useful.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Compressing a wealth of technical knowledge into a time-efficient and easy-to-digest format. The small details of Treehouse (like the badges you earn at the end of each section and personal progress meter) made the experience more engaging and made me want to spend more time progressing towards my goal.

 ### 5. Amazing self paced program with active community

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer I. | Quality Assurance Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

Using treehouse to obtain a full stack javascript tech degree was an amazing experience. Not only are lessons broken down so anyone who is interested in coding, no matter their background, can understand and apply what they've learned. The unique aspect that sets Treehouse apart is the supportive slack community that includes students but also student success advocates that are employed by Treehouse. They are familiar with all coursework and projects so they are able to help effectively - but they go the extra mile. They take the time to explain the concepts that they are helping with so you won't make that mistake again or truly understand it this time around. Treehouse is always updating their courses, as technology is always changing, to make sure they are setting students up with the most recent and up-to-date information to be successful in the tech space job market. Treehouse has given me the confidence to believe I can make it in the tech space without a college degree in computer science and with no advanced math classes under my belt.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

the only thing that I think could be worked on is more up-to-date courses, this can be hard because technology is always changing so I can imagine it's hard to keep up. They do a good job of retiring courses and replacing them with more up to date ones, but possibly a faster process would be helpful.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Treehouse is solving the problem of where to start if you want to start a career or hobby in tech/coding. The subject matter from afar is very intimidating, Treehouse breaks it down. They provide coursework that breaks everything down into digestible pieces. This allows people from all walks of life to understand the foundational pillars of coding and how to build on them to garner more knowledge and apply it.

 ### 6. Treehouse rocks!

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

I went from knowing absolutely nothing to being very confident on any task or challenge I put myself during the course of a project.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

Had a tough time installing ubuntu on my pc window but thanksfully a slack teacher reached out and within half an hour I was good to go!

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves many issues on regards introducing new software and languages, even after my techdegree on front end web development I continue to use the platform

 ### 7. It sets a good foundation for python & java programming.

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edward C. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

I like that you get detailed lectures on certain topics while later having the chance to enforce them in quizzes and coding assignments.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

Some of the videos seem outdated & it would be great if they extend their Techdegree to other tech stacks.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Teaching tech skills to those who want to learn – having a curriculum that targets what I want to learn helped a lot.

 ### 8. Best decision in my life

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Getoar M. | Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

There are many things I liked for Treehouse, Slack Community, Quizzes, Challenges etc... which are very important in the process of learning because they let you strongen the knowledge you just learned from the courses.

The best thing I liked is Techdegree Roadmap everything is thinked thoroughly which makes it very easy for junior developers as me.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

I honestly can not think of anything I disliked about Treehouse, even the Courses are updated according the trending.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Treehouse made a life changing benefit for me, I accommodated work habits, which I now am implementing in my journey as a junior developer.

And of course the certificate was very valuable in Tech Community.

 ### 9. Self-paced Program Teaching all Front End Development Basics!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tatyana C. | N/A, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

I liked that there was a slack community that you can reach out to when you need help! Whether it is answering a conceptual question or help with a project. I also loved the quizzes and projects we worked on. It helped me solidify the knowledge I was learning in the lectures.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

The only thing I disliked was that we could only submit one project per week. A lot of times it took around that time or longer but occassionally, I could have submitted it earlier.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Treehouse is solving the accessibility to learning. Treehouse is an affordable version of any other coding bootcamp that I saw before I found Treehouse.

 ### 10. A valuable resource for continuing education (not just for beginners)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

My team has used Treehouse as a supplemental learning resource for seven-plus years. The variety of web application development topics addressing many skill levels has kept us engaged. Treehouse has a smooth learner experience and interfaces that don't get in the way and make it easy to pick up where you left off. For managers, we have sensible visibility into our team members' progress on assigned materials. The community forum is active and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

Our only real hiccup was the lack of process around yearly invoicing, which seems to have been fixed recently. Nice!

All learning resources like this will have gaps in coverage or stale material. Treehouse has done an excellent job of keeping things current, so this is not a major concern.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Treehouse provides an organized and enjoyable way to initiate or deepen tech skills at a very reasonable cost.

 ### 11. Self-Paced Gateway to Amazing Skills

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam P. | Director Of Information Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

The Techdegree program gave me a boot camp experience but on my own time. Really well-done classes and tutorials to help me fully grasp the concepts at play in lessons. Quizzes to help me verify I understand the material. If you do the boot camp, you will submit projects via GitHub that give you a chance to test the skills you learned. You'll also have the chance to peer review other students' projects to help you enforce your understanding of the material. Currently, we have been using Slack in the Techdegree program to allow us to meet others in our program, as well as work directly with support staff (Shout out to Rachel!) who can assist when we get stuck on anything.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

I was hoping for information on Django and NoSQL databases. Unfortunately, Treehouse lost a lot of great instructors last year. I'm hoping now that with Xenon and Jason Gilmore at the helm that they will bring in some new talent and help the next generation of coders and devs to be successful!

**Recommendations to others considering Treehouse:**

Do it!

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used my skills developed at Treehouse to write programs at work to help me with automation. The main program I am working on interfaces with our HR platform. I use it to pull the most up-to-date employee records out of the system and will continue to flesh it out to make it more and more robust. My start at Treehouse has given me the tools necessary to have a solid foundation and now it is up to me to put it to use and to continue to develop and grow it!

 ### 12. Great platform to learn all the fundamentals of your preferred tech stack

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dawid J. | Junior Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

1. The slack community is great!
2. They guide you on your first couple of projects when you still feel a bit overwhelmed with everything, but as you progress they start holding your hand less and less, really forcing you to use the skills build-up to make the project work! This really helped me in learning how to do research as well, and that's probably one of the best skills to have when starting your first job.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

Some of the content did feel a little outdated to me. You would be asked to use react-router v4 for example in a project but v6 is already out. I do understand that technology progresses so fast that it is hard to keep up with the content, but it made it difficult at times since the syntax changes between versions and makes it harder to follow along with the lessons. With that said, now that I have my first development job, I can say learning how older versions of frameworks, etc. work are also required as a lot of companies don't necessarily want to update to newer versions as it is likely to cause some app breaking bugs.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The best skill that Treehouse taught me is not necessarily being proficient at a certain tech stack, but rather they taught me how to read and understand code. I feel like this is the most important skill to have as a developer since you get exposed to a lot of different tech stacks in your journey to becoming proficient! If you know how to read code, you can master writing it as well.

 ### 13. Outdated an Incomplete

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

Self-paced. Some of the teaching assistants were helpful. Less expensive than most traditional bootcamps.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

Lots of the content was outdated. This meant having to downgrade components to follow along, and having to learn the modern/current ways to do things on my own.

There was zero mention of unit/integration testing which seems like a glaring omission. Every interview I've had wants me to write automated testing. I'm having to learn that now and feel like it should have been part of all of our Treehouse projects.

Some of the content felt rushed/tacked on as a band-aid solution to the outdated content. Most were not helpful. Some of the projects were kind of lame, I did not include most in my portfolio.

Lastly, the "Techdegree" branding is annoying. It looks like a typo, and employers don't know what it is. I have to explain it's , "basically a bootcamp" to everyone.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Learning modern JavaScript libraries

 ### 14. Best Bootcamp experience ever!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose A. R. | Junior Software developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

I absolutely loved the videos and the way in which they presented the material. The course structure is amazing.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

The only thing I disliked what that for the TechDegree you can only send one project at a time even though I understand why.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Becoming a self-taught developer is incredibly difficult, and TeamTreehouse does a fantastic job facilitating this process.

 ### 15. Best investment I’ve ever made

I really liked the way the instructors explained things in the lectures. They have a really nice way of going about it. I also really liked the Techdegree projects. They were challenging and I learned a lot from completing them.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

It would be nice if there was a React Techdegree.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Give a quality education and helping develop job ready skills for an affordable price.

 ### 16. A Good Start, Some Room to Improve.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick H. | Health And Wellness Coach, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

There's a good amount of material to follow and the instruction is mostly clear. They are supportive, cost competitive and you can take your time learning.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

The lack of material to accompany videos. There are transcripts of each video, but helpful notes to follow doesn't exist. Starting and stopping videos is frustrating.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Learning technology.

Sometimes the responses arent quick so you are going to have to wait sometime before getting a response.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

The ability to create custom tracks in addition to the library offered.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

When assigning custom tracks, you cannot just assign an individual to it
Or, the flexibility to take more than one track at a time

**Recommendations to others considering Treehouse:**

It's an ok option but it lacks the customization options I would like.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Online upskilling opportunities

 ### 25. Skill up quickly and have fun doing it!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

I love the short sequences that allow you to squeeze your learning into whatever time you have available! I love earning badges and having something that represents my progress. I joined Treehouse while on maternity leave with my son and found that the sessions were just long enough to get in a session while the baby napped, a nice break from changing diapers and I returned to work with some great new skills I could put to use immediately.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

I'd love to see some more classes that address digital marketing topics, this field changes so fast!

**Recommendations to others considering Treehouse:**

Worth a try, it probably doesn't appeal to every learning style but you won't know until you sign up and start a course. I love it and recommend to everyone who mentions wanting to learn to code!

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Professional development

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2018

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

The tracks are well structured. I just started as a web developer but feel like I don't have a solid understanding for anything yet. The tracks made it easy for me to keep moving forward.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

The price. The basic plan ($25) is alright but it's a lot pricier if you want to download contents/do projects.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making my dream of becoming a developer more accessible.

 ### 27. Treehouse is a great resource

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2017

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

I like the interactivity and variation of the courses and the thoughtfulness of how it's presented. The videos were a great way to mix up the information and the tests made it easy to track your progress. One thing that I found helpful was the course tracks. It allowed me to share with my boss and justify the use of Treehouse.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

Not much! Maybe they could offer a blog?

**Recommendations to others considering Treehouse:**

I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to brush up their CSS skills. It's great for beginners, and also great for brushing up if you've been away from developing for a bit. It's also very useful for learning other coding and design.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've used it to brush up on CSS for certain project requirements and also used it to try and learn PHP.

 ### 28. treehouse user

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

i like the step by step method each tutorial is given

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

I dislike that sometimes the assessments are just one word answer types which does not give us much resource to actually analyze ourselves

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have learned to create a webpage and I am learning many new technologies

 ### 29. Treehouse Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katie H. | Digital Strategist, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2016

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

I joined a web design company a year ago having no background in web design or development. Using Team Treehouse made it possible for me to learn at my own pace and choose different types of coding languages to work with. It started out slow going because I was so foreign to the web developer world, but I've been learning HTML, PHP, JavaScript, and Swift. Having a base knowledge of these items in the back of my mind has been very helpful and provided some value-add when connecting with my clients.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

The only thing I dislike is how long it's taken me to learn :) Luckily, I am a writer and digital strategist, not a web developer! As I said before, it's been slow-going. Some of the beginner courses are VERY basic and feel like a waste of time. I have to keep telling myself that you have to start somewhere. As I pass some of the very early levels, the classes have become more interesting.

**Recommendations to others considering Treehouse:**

If you are interested in coding but don't know how to get started, Treehouse has amazing tutorial videos that walk you through the process. It's awesome because there are checkpoints and rewards as you continue learning, which makes it fun!

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Treehouse has been incredibly effective in broadening my pool of knowledge. As a writer and digital strategist, it's given me background in the technical aspect of web design and helped me learn what is and isn't possible when it comes to writing for the web.

 ### 30. Excellent selection of courses and great teachers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter P. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2016

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

What I like best about treehouse is it's easy to find and keep track of what it is you are learning. For example coding languages are all groups together, easy to get to and a course or track as it's called is simple to get back to. There are also one off videos within libraries to watch which is nice.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

I would really like for treehouse to release content faster. I can see what's coming out in the next few weeks or month. But waiting on an ES6 course for example while other course websites have content makes me go to competing websites where I can buy a one off course on that topic.

The iPad app was also buggy when rotating from landscape to portrait the videos weren't resizing to 100% width but that may be fixed.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a great tool to learn and keep up to date with programming. For beginner and intermediate developers it's perfect. Treehouse is even coming out with more advanced videos like building desktop apps with Electron.

 ### 31. Learn Code Fast

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren B. | Founder, Web Design & SEO Strategy, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2016

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

I love how easy it is to learn. You watch a quick video and follow it up with an interactive session. The interactive piece is key.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

There isn't much I don't like! I've been very happy with Treehouse.

**Recommendations to others considering Treehouse:**

I'd recommend deciding on a single track and sticking to it. Treehouse isn't super easy to switch back and forth. But, they do make it easy to stick within a single track and finish it.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm very happy with Treehouse. I've been using it for almost 2 years now. I started out with their HTML course as a refresher. I transitioned into learning Javascript and Java.

I'm using Treehouse to keep refreshed on the latest in each language and to learn new languages to grow my capabilities.

 ### 32. Very professional teachers

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dicle B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2016

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

Team treehouse has very professional teachers which makes you feel you are taking courses from professionals.

Provides very current technologies and helping system works all the time well.
Assignments makes you understand well the course because you can not continue or win a badge if you cannot pass the assignment. I think it s a nice feature.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

I think it is a bit expensive. They can determine price for each course packs seperately and unlimited access that would be better for everyone.

**Recommendations to others considering Treehouse:**

I recommend everyone for learning the basics of the web site making. They explain all the steps of making web site very well and understandable. I did not check the other courses in that site but I bet they are also nice.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I took courses in order to make my own website about architecture. Actually I have hired a web master but I want to double check him and understand what he does exactly on my website.

 ### 33. Professional Instructors and updated courses available

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ceyda A. | Outreach Executive, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2016

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

I am interested in wordpress and teamtreehouse provides great course for it. Most of the instructors are really good at their job and teaching very understandable for beginners. They always keep content up to date and making new courses depending on the technology. Also there is library in team treehouse which you can find any topic you want for example integrating php with databases or seo for wordpress. I really liked the variety of courses in this site.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

Their price is really high actually. They do not offer any free course which is so bad because I think that not everyone can pay 25 dollars per month especially if you do not live in countries with different currencies. I think that teamtreehouse should decrease their price or make some courses free and get commercials etc. in order to expand their customer range.

**Recommendations to others considering Treehouse:**

If you can pay 25 dollars per month, it provides you great source of IT technology. But still you can find similar information free out there if you just do search more. Considering the video, instructor quality etc. I can recommend everyone to catch up with latest technologies in their focused areas.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am focused on wordpress and php in order to develop myself in those areas. Also I am focused on SEO for my job and treehouse gives always updated information about these areas.

 ### 34. High Quality Tech Bootcamp

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2016

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

Combination of hands-on practice and very professionally done audiovisual learning with expert instructors in the field. Good use of gamification and a curriculum with the use of tracks to focus your learning. Being able to complete other tracks and carry over "credit" from previous tracks with the overlapping knowledge. I also enjoy the supplemental business courses included, enriching people's business and freelance skills.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

Not as many in-depth projects. No one-on-one mentoring. These features are included only in the more advanced Tech Degree program for $399/month, which is newly launched this year and much more expensive than the $25 per month plan. The basic plans mainly include forum support.

**Recommendations to others considering Treehouse:**

Like many online bootcamps, Treehouse is best used as a strong foundational supplement to other online courses. However, because of the vast library of material, high quality production values, and community in the forums, it seems to be one the strongest in being most likely to launch ready-to-hire entry level developers and enrich other freelance and business owners in enhancing their skills. Absolutely worth the basic membership fee.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am teaching myself to code in order to launch a web presence for my future business. I would like to add a secondary skill set which will serve my business without outsourcing. I am still in the process of training.

 ### 35. Simply an amazing product!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thue Lægdsgaard M. | Marketing Operations Manager, Hospital & Health Care, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2016

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

Treehouse has a vast amount of courses available. It is easy to navigate with both single classes and whole track to develop an entire skillset. The classes are very thorough with both theoretical knowledge, practical know and tests to help you retain what you lean.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

If anything, it can be a little too thorough at times. There is some overlap between segments of course but usually not much and it helps to refresh.

**Recommendations to others considering Treehouse:**

I'd happily recommend this to anyone looking to learn coding or any other technical skill that they offer a course in.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping my skills up to date and developing new ones to keep my skills relevant in the market.

 ### 36. The best code education resource I've used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Hardware | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2016

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

I love Treehouse because it has a variety of learning methods. A course is thorough, with additional materials, community help, videos, and interaction. I learn best reading versus listening, so having a transcript to follow along with is a huge help.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

I only dislike the lack of basic modules, covering debugging, good development practice... the more traditional aspects of software engineering that I think are good to understand as a web dev. I also think there should be earlier emphasis on writing secure code.

**Recommendations to others considering Treehouse:**

Try to come up with a learning plan that best suits your long term goals. There is a lot of information, and it's easy to get distracted by nice to have knowledge. That being said, I always try to have one additional interest area that I maintain by completing Treehouse lessons.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Treehouse has helped me be a more dynamic worker at all of the companies I've been with. I often serve as a knowledgeable second opinion on code quality, a backup for web troubleshooting, and a basic designer. I used to only do QA, and Treehouse helped me better understand where to look to challenge UX and functionality.

 ### 37. Great learning tool!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2016

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

Vast amount of courses available, easy videos to follow as well as follow up tutorials and quizzes to test what you have been learning about.

Video tutorials are great for on the go, if you just want to listen to someone teaching you, rather than actually participating in the tasks, then there's the option for this, as well as learning as someone goes along with teaching you the subject.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

Not all of the languages are on there, it also would be great if there was the option to learn about things that weren't in the IT sector, meaning that if there were other aspects of a business that you wanted to learn about, then there would be the option to also do this, it means that it would cater for more than just IT aspects of a business.

**Recommendations to others considering Treehouse:**

Great tool for learning whether it be for work or for your own personal development. Great for refreshers, or if a member of staff needs to learn a specific language. Most if not all of the languages are on the website so it makes it a good resource for learning bits here and there.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Learning new languages in my spare time, keeps me refreshed and on top of new languages, as well as learning about old ones that are still being used.

I've been able to figure out better and easier ways of learning a language, as well as learning about subjects that might have been a little harder to understand due to tutorials not being as good.

 ### 38. Learn to code without any previous knowledge

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2016

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

The structure of tree house courses were really well designed. They don't assume you know anything and hold your hand every step of the way. The courses also evolve into building real world applications, with room to expand if you're feeling confident.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

Some of the videos and courses felt a little too gimmicky. Too much production value that didn't actually help enhance the course in any way. Also a common downfall with code courses is teaching by rote memorization or repetition instead of explaining what's going on under the hood.

**Recommendations to others considering Treehouse:**

Give a few of the free courses a go and evaluate before spending the money on a paid solution.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This was solving the problem of lack of web tech understandings. The videos built a solid foundation to go out and actually learn other computer science fundamentals and programming languages.

 ### 39. Treehouse an amazing way to learn new technologies

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Enmanuel D. | Front-End Developer, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2016

**What do you like best about Treehouse?**

TreeHouse is a solid platform that teaches you about different kind of technologies in a very unique way, I personally used this to learn new technologies, programming, app development and more things like website development related stuff. I used this as free user and I have nothing left to say more than this is one of the best education platforms I've used and I've used a couple out there like Coursera, PluralSight, and this is actually really good. Quality content is one of the main things here, you'll never see something without having properly preparation before, also practices area really efective so you don't learn just by watching or listening, you learn by trying what you already learned.

**What do you dislike about Treehouse?**

Honestly there is nothing I don't really like about tree house right now but It would be cool if people from another countries without access to the American currency could pay for it in another way. LATAM is really limited in all that refers e-learning platforms and I think if some companies give the chance to this people for accesing it would be great.

**Recommendations to others considering Treehouse:**

without any doubt this worth the price, I've used it in the trial period, and it's over now but I'm now thinking about paying for it.

**What problems is Treehouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There is not limit of age here, no matter how old are you, or if you studied another career, you can learn about everything, the method they are using is just unbelievable.
