What do you like best about Translated?

I like how versatile they can be. They also provide other alternative translations if you feel like you would need to make your translation more formal for business type rather than informal. Also, their translation is closer to being spot-on than other platforms. This is not only useful for businesses but also for students who are trying to learn other language. What do you dislike about Translated?

What problems is Translated solving and how is that benefiting you?

As we are a global medical sales company we normally talk to different nationalities to discuss sales offers, reports, and other concerns regarding our products. Describe the project or task Translated helped with:

On the contrary, I helped escalate issues from the previous release of projects. And my kind advice was taken for granted; regardless, those were less than 5 bucks POs. All can join as translators and choose different language pairs with one single mother language. No test exam was required, not to mention those linguists explained "I have a full-time job" as an excuse for severe incidents found by others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Translated?

Project Managers are all very kind to freelancers. My main field is software localization given the solid experiences learned from my previous positions. For those IT projects I was involved, I kept wondering how Translated acquired their "dedicated" Mandarin Chinese and Traditional Chinese linguists, there were always severe translation errors found in the tasks, although it wasn't my task scope to review. I literally spent more time on reporting the issues to PM in most purchasing orders I accepted. Translated has a strict policy for translator to choose only one native language, but these linguists could not identify the errors in their own mother language. For the records I've filed, and long thread communications, Translated eventually trusted in my recommendations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Translated?

Whenever I found and reported the errors, translators and linguists did not seem to be accountable. The community associate manager told me, "We haven't received any complaints from our client who is happy with the overall quality of this language variant." Lack of customer-driven would only destroy the confidence and trust from the accounts, not to mention the output deemed to fail in quality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Translated:

PMs at translated are very detail-oriented with patience; full-time employees do excellent jobs with no doubts. Although both Mandarin Chinese and Traditional Chinese translation quality is questionable, I'd suggest those favored clients request the order from two different agencies and make the best decision according to the profesionalism of a delivery. What problems is Translated solving and how is that benefiting you?

In fact, I solved so many problems for Translated and I did not even ask of compensation. One time I was assigned to translate a dozen words, but I immediately found there were so many translation errors verified and approved before I took the task, I then performed a full review and the volume was 400 times more than what I was responsible for. Shared the report with the team and PM, all relevant linguists did not try to fix the errors, instead they googled and attached student's paper as professional references. They were very slow to hand over the final product, they went several days past the communicated delivery date. I also has to reformat several aspects esthetically despite giving them the design file ( font size, typer boldness etc.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I outsourced the translation of an 800-word post for a corporate blog of one of my clients, as I did not have time to take care of it myself.

The translation was for a client that I have been working for for many years now, so my intention was to proofread the translation provided by Translated carefully and edite where necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Translated?

I like the fact that it is so easy to request the translation — I sent it to them via MateCat and never had to talk to an agent. It was fast and convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Translated?

Although the quality of the translation was not terrible, there were a couple of issues: spaces missing between words here and there, a lack of consistency in terms of abbreviation... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Translated solving and how is that benefiting you?

The main thing I like about their service is that I can turn to them when I need an urgent translation that I do not have time to take care of myself. However, I know that it is crucial that I take the time to proofread and adapt their translations, so I would not recommend their services if you are not or do not have a linguist that will review the text.
