It's a great way to split concerns between product and development. It removes the need for a code update for translations and tweaking the copy on a website in general. Integrating it was easy, there was an implementation library for whatever application is consuming it - in our case an SPA.

We realised the hard way that once a language as been uploaded with a specific lang code - this cannot be edited. Only deleted and reuploaded.
