There is some automated parts to it which helps but it can be improved upon - Requires some data cleaning - Required data review effort, which sometimes becomes repetitive and cumbersome keeping track of different things. Sometimes things also broke down when we updated certain strings on the website but they were not fully auto translated creating a broken user experience. **Recommendations to others considering Transifex:** Transifex is a good platform but only consider if you have some internal champion pushing the cause from inside the organization. You would need developers and considerable engineering bandwidth and content writers to check and coordinate with the translators to ensure everything is working smoothly and nothing has been left out. A lot of organizations may not be ready for this commitment when they're buying the tool. **What problems is Transifex solving and how is that benefiting you?** Serving localized websites in different regions of the world so as to ultimately improve the conversion rates and user experience. We had an in-house team of engineers and content writers who helped with the entire process along the way. To expand on that: Conversion rate optimization: Localized language helps in explaining the value proposition better as well as helps reduces friction on the user's end. This is especially true for non-English speaking market like Japan, Germany, Spain, Brazil etc. We have see our conversion rates go up in these markets with users being able to better make sense of the value our tool offered. User experience: Localized language helps in user being able to navigate the website well and skip to the right content in the shortest time possible. So far our users had to use auto-translate on Chrome or Google translate manually to understand certain sections of our site. It offers all the basic things you need for a translation management platform for an enterprise, but without any killer features. It has a CLI and API and user interface. All are capable enough. **What do you dislike about Transifex?** It's really slow to use. Way too much clicking is involved to do basic translation tasks and move between files and projects. If you have to upload or download something manually it takes forever. Transifex's roadmap just doesn't align with an LSPs. They focus on things they think are important and it may not necessarily be what you think is important. It took forever, for example, for them to add a way to search for texts between projects and it still doesn't really work well. Their engineering team is just disappointing, many promises but too slow to deliver. I also hate their help chatbot. **Recommendations to others considering Transifex:** There are a lot of platforms. The script and i8n integration is so key in my opinion. **What do you dislike about Transifex?** The UI navigation on the sidebar and jumping into translations as a consumer/user of them is not intuitive. Sidebar navigation is not fantastic. When you are in an org with multiple projects it quickly gets unwieldy. Additionally, many account management type things don't seem to exist in the UI yet, which has resulted in needed to go through outside Account Managers. **Recommendations to others considering Transifex:** Maintaining a running dictionary of key words to your organization and having some sense of how to keep that taxonomy consistent across languages/translators is key. This requires a bit more involved usage than just uploading text and downloading translations to the site. **What problems is Transifex solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have a complex app with the promise to customers of complete localization. It is stable and powerful. Their product team is always eager to hear about new idea, and their enterprise support team is courteous and knowledgeable. **What do you dislike about Transifex?** Transifex has come a long in the seven years I have been using it. I come across the ocassional bug or issue, and those usually get fixed very quickly, but it is hard to please every users and organization. I wish their issue backlog could be dealt with a bit more quickly, and sometimes that new feature I long for would be implemented more rapidly, but you can’t please everyone. **What problems is Transifex solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Transifex wearing two hats, for two organizations both managing about one hundred projects in Transifex and about eighty languages. It is fast, and their service never went down until down. Once this setting is enabled, white spaces will be represented by a dot in the editor in both source and translation string’s area when translating. This new feature will give you the flexibility to create your own regex expressions and set up the rules your translators need to follow while working on translations. Then, any time our teams change any text, it gets reflected in Transifex. I don't have to remember what file was changed, I can see it in the dashboard. The segmentation for some content also works in our favor. It can make fuzzies difficult to find and interpret, but keeping together the 50-1000 words in one of our content cards at least allows us to read the entire screen and make sure it makes sense. **What do you dislike about Transifex?** The translator interface. The view of fuzzy matches and understanding history changes. How tags are handled, windows that cannot be moved, non-intuitive hotkeys, handling of fuzzy matches. I've spoken to the team multiple times and they are aware. As always, you can't make everything perfect, so I understand there are trade-offs. I hope some of these changes get implemented in the future. **Recommendations to others considering Transifex:** Not every shoe is for every occasion. With CAT tools, the same happens. Not every company needs the same software. Transifex meets our company's needs in the seamless integration with our back-end. Adding new content to the translation pipeline is a breeze, and it doesn't require engineers. Any changes to software strings get automatically pushed to Transifex so that I can translate it. The segmentation works well for our product since it keeps our lesson cards in one segment; this enables us to translate with context and not have to guess with repetitions. And most of all, the Transifex team is fantastic, they listen to feedback and work hard to make the product better each day. **What problems is Transifex solving and how is that benefiting you?** The automated connection between Transifex and our content means that when the Content team makes updates to the source text, we automatically see the content on Transifex to be updated.
