You probably have a long list of features ahead, but i wanted to share a couple of improvements from my user perspective, i really think it could ease up in my daily work with the transifex. It would help us a lot if we could have the name of the file for translation (name or slug), because the entire path for it is now written into the file name. At the moment, I have 20 files in the project that contain words for translation, and all of them only show the end of this path in the interface, and this is ".../django.po". There is almost no need to translate all the files at once, and you have to open each file in turn to find the right words and translate them. **What do you dislike about Transifex?** To bring more clarity to the name of translate file, I tried to change the created files with the words name or slug already translated. Have looked a bit into transifex live and some other options, they looked promising too. Also love github integration idea! **What do you dislike about Transifex?** In Transifex Native it'd be much more helpful to have the key as the default parameter of the element instead of the string. Then we would be able to write less code and take care of the strings + translations in transifex platform. Would be cool to take the parent element's tag property as property of all translatable children elements, that would also reduce the amount of code being written. When I was integrating transifex for the first time on our small project. It allows you to assign translation managers the opportunity to identify and translate content in a simple manner, with the benefit of accounting for different vernaculars and dialects. **What do you dislike about Transifex?** The product is a bit cumbersome in my honest opinion. You first need to go through and target the content on the page(s) that require translation, approve them to be added to the translation queue, translate them, and eventually publish the translations. It doesn't seem to be a scalable solution, especially for customers that have thousands of pieces of text that need to be translated. **Recommendations to others considering Transifex:** Transifex is a solid product and it does provide some immediate benefits to those looking to close the gap on translation services. They offer many different tiers of services so you will undoubtedly be able to find something that fits your budget as well as your use case. The only concern I have is that it is not a scalable solution in my opinion, but I might be a bit off-base given that our contracted solution does not have an AI option folded in. **What problems is Transifex solving and how is that benefiting you?** Expanding the reach of our web presence for our audience that consumes content in different geographic locations and/or languages. Google Translate is no longer a support product and does not always provide accurate translations. We have most of the process automated so that when building a new client, new translations are automatically pulled out of Transifex. The problems we solve with it are very simply put the organization of all translations within one tool and keeping an overview of translators, reviews, different products, progress of translation, We also make use of translation memory and glossary to improve our loc quality. Translators are able to use translation memory across projects to improve consistency, and improve suggested translations. There are a variety of ways to provide context for the strings, comments in the code, additional text you add in the editor, or uploading an image that you mark up to link to the specific strings. On the backend, integration with github to automatically generate PRs when resources have been translated has been very helpful for several projects. We are able to use the API to write our own tools for the projects that have more complicated requirements. **What do you dislike about Transifex?** We have a large number of translators, so it's often the case that we'd like to direct notifications to translators or reviewers of a language not specific people. The feature to tag and resolve issues on individual strings would also be more useful if it could be filtered by language. A reviewer for a language can get frustrated looking through issues when only a small fraction apply to translations in their language. The translation checks are really helpful, but they are set at the organization level for each filetype. It would be better if the checks could be set at the project level to allow for different levels of error checking on different projects. **What problems is Transifex solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are translating multiple software projects, multiple websites, subtitles for videos, and other resources into almost 100 languages, both RTL and LTR. Some languages are published and being maintained, others are still in the pre-published state. The activity reporting tools in Transifex help us understand what's going on, which languages are being actively translated, and who might need more help. It would be nice to be able to pre-program the additional languages to not have to go back into Transifex afterward. It works, and we have a base layer translation we can give to our localization experts for cleaning up. On the customer support side, they took every meeting we requested (including onboarding and negotiating prefered rates as a start-up). They worked with us to hit a price point that worked for us that was significantly below MSRP, in no small part because our founder has an existing working relationship with them and their SKU for not-for-profit and open-source projects. Our use-case at present is pretty simple - translate 100k words or so, give access to the files to our localization team, and then maintain the translations for us to review or modify at any time. Ramp up is fast with vendors and the ability to automate my repositories from GitHub and Zendesk makes it that much smoother. **What do you dislike about Transifex?** I dislike that your overall word count is used on projects where only some languages are translated. The word count usage is extrapolated by project words x languages in the project rather than the actual languages translated, so if you have 12 languages set for a project but only localize 4 on a big file it still counts the words against your allotted space as though it were all 12 which, in the long term, adds up to a lot and can make you use up your purchased server size faster and can lead to an upgrade that wouldn't be necessary otherwise. This can be avoided by deleting out all projects but that can also be time consuming in a fast-paced environment. **What problems is Transifex solving and how is that benefiting you?** Localization engineering is solved by automated parsing of multiple file formats, then placing them into a WYSIWYG UX that is easy for hand off to vendors. Maybe the word count concept is somewhat annoying, but we learned how to live with it.
