**What do you like best about TouchBistro Restaurant POS?**

Software was somewhat user friendly and worked relatively well for us.

**What do you dislike about TouchBistro Restaurant POS?**

We had an extremely disappointing experience with TouchBistro.

From the outset, the focus felt less like a partnership and more like aggressive upselling. We were repeatedly encouraged to purchase add-on services and features that, in hindsight, we did not need. Once those additional services were purchased, there was absolutely no flexibility or willingness to offer refunds, even when concerns were raised promptly.

The most troubling issue occurred when we attempted to cancel our service. We notified TouchBistro before the renewal date, yet our credit card was still charged for a full additional year of service. Despite clear communication in advance, the renewal went through anyway.

When we tried to resolve the matter, reaching someone was nearly impossible. Calls and messages went unanswered for extended periods. After significant effort, I finally connected with a representative who initially stated that refunds were not offered under any circumstances. When I explained the timeline and documentation around our cancellation notice, I was then told we were in fact eligible for a refund.

That refund has still not been processed and it has now been over a year.

Operationally, the support experience has been equally frustrating. The “hotline” for software issues often involves long waits and inconsistent assistance. When you are running a restaurant and your POS system is critical to service, unreliable support is unacceptable.

A POS provider should operate as a partner to restaurant operators. Instead, our experience felt transactional at best and dismissive at worst. Once they have your payment information, responsiveness and accountability seem to disappear.

I would strongly encourage anyone thinking of signing on with TB not to, but if they do, to review contract terms carefully, document all cancellation communications in writing, and think twice before committing to long-term agreements.

Nothing. It works at times, the KDS is buggy, the app crashes after almost every order is put in, integrations are expensive.

Everything. Crashes constantly, horrible customer service, overpriced bloatware.

Literally everything. The customer service is horrible. The tablets loose and delete orders. Menu categorize randomly change so our steaks randomly started reporting as alcohol

I love how user friendly and intuitive the TouchBistro platform is. It requires very little training, and I can often find what I need quickly by using the help function. I've also had great experiences with customer service over the phone. I also like the fact that this integrates easily with several of the other programs we use.

**What do you dislike about TouchBistro Restaurant POS?**

If your main device goes down then you are not able to use the program, which has happened to me and can be frustrating, but this is a rare occurence.

I love how easy it is to integrate, and it also saves me a lot of time with training since it is easy to use. A quicker onboarding with new employees is very beneficial.

**What do you like best about TouchBistro Restaurant POS?**

TouchBistro is easy to set up and use. The interface is attractive and pretty intuitive - staff needs little training to be able to successfully use it. The search for item function speeds order entry - the other category organization tools are what you expect and are well designed. The room table layout and ticketing is easy to set up and using the interface for order entry is a breeze - again staff with no training can figure it out! We inherited the system when we purchased our business and after researching alternatives stayed with TouchBistro. We are in year 3 and are very satisfied. It has a lot more functionality than we use.

**What do you dislike about TouchBistro Restaurant POS?**

On the downside, the credit card processing integration could have more options. The initial vendor we used TSYS, had a great rate and tight. seamless integration with Touchbistro the workflow was simple, errorproof -  it was very easy to process cards. Unfortunately the hardware that was available was terrible and was often broken leading to us handkey cards. There were no great alternative for a fine dining restaurant like ours so we ended up switching to Square. The integration is clunky, multistep and prone to error. TouchBistro has its own payment solution which presumably is why they are not pursuing customer satisfacation with 3rd parties. It'd be fine if their product's rate was competitive but it isn't - it's expensive.

The POS solution enables us to easily and accurately capture customer orders, transmit them to the kitchen for fulfillment, and process payments.

Touch bistro is a very intuitive system, making it very user friendly. They have excellent customer service with timely responses to questions and issues. We have only been open for 3months, so far so good! This system has made it easy for our entire staff to be on the same page and have all the information we need ti run a successful restaurant. The reports are clear and easy to access/understand. The system itself allows for clear communication between the back and front of house. We are very happy with this system.

The reservation app has been a bit challenging in creating the best flow for our small space making sure we are capitalizing on the most possible turns per night, but the staff has been helpful in fine tuning this.

I have one of the worst experiences in my business career. Almost everyday I spend about 2 hours talking to TouchBistro customer service on the phone, but still they can't solve my problems.

Also they r not allowing to cancel my contract with them. 

I am using TouchBistro from past 2months but I lost my customers, money and wasting lots of time  just because of their worst system and customer servic (TouchBistro). 

I would never recommend TouchBistro to my friends and other ppl, bcoz I don't waht them to be in stress as i am right now

Dishonesty, Fraudulent, False, worst System, worst customer service. 

If you like your money and health then i would never recommend this system to anyone.

**What do you like best about TouchBistro Restaurant POS?**

The functionality of the POS table side with iPad minis is great and time saving for servers. This is the only positive feature that we are fully comfortable giving accolades to. This of course is negated by the time that is needed to spend running around trying to find a credit card processor that will work, explaining double-charges to guests due to software issues and assuring them that if there is a double charge which there may or may not be we will resolve it, restarting credit card terminals and iPads in the hope that they will work, and working on customer retention due to the credit card processing issues.

**What do you dislike about TouchBistro Restaurant POS?**

Reporting is horrific for accounting purposes. I had to create my own payroll excel file as labor reporting does not integrate tips earned. Daily reporting lacks several key pieces of information. The V400m credit card machines consistantly do not communicate with our iPads and cause terrible issues with our customers when trying to take payment. It will allow two payments to be processed for the same guest on the same check. It will allow an authorization for payment that our guests can see on their personal banking features, but no authorization will have gone through to the TouchBistro app, therefore causing guests to question us why we need to run a transaction again. We get follow-up calls from guests letting us know that they have two seperate transactions even though POS only registers one. This is a failure directly on the software as our WiFi has no connectivity issues. All these issues started occuring three or four TouchBistro updates ago. We have been trying to navigate a solution for this for over a month. We have lost customers due to this issue. We have contacted TouchBistro more times than I can count for a resolution, and get the same non-action "update to the newest version, it will be fine", "reboot they system, it will be fine", "change this setting on your iPads, it will be fine". Rest assured, it is not fine. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE GET THIS SYSTEM WITH WEPAY BY CHASE! We truely feel that the 3rd party processing is almost certainly the core issue and that is was not designed correctly to work with TouchBisto and iPad processing.

This all comes after, of course, the onboarding process. Training materials provided are cursory at best. Nearly all facets of functionality are learned by trial and error. I had to write a training manual myself as the training videos essentially provide nothing but basic, generic POS material. Once you have the product purchased, all the humans that were involved with sales, onboarding, and integration completely disappear. You can of course call Customer Service, where the nice folks on the other line do their best, but have to outsourse pretty much any call to their Payments, Hardware, and Escalation Teams. Prepare to be on hold for a long while a memorize their horrifically loud hold music. Additionally, their "teams" are not available Friday evenings through Sundays, restaurants busiest days.

I spend at least 3 hours a week resolving payment issues both on the floor and from my office. I could go on in spades about further issues and go into greater detail than listed above, but I think the general point has been made.

I really want to say something positive here, but with all the time that we consistantly have to spend putting out fires created by TouchBistro any positive note is wholly negated. But, I will anyway. When the POS is working properly, our servers and bar staff are able to send items to our kitchen in a fast and efficient manner, creating more time for our guests' care. Until the payment part comes, and it doesn't work.

-terrible terrible customer service. I asked my rep questions like how to add/delete items, access multiple tables and pre-authorization, he recommended me just to google it. blocked my number after i texted him questions.
-unreliable devices: 2 ipads freeze on the first day of use
-long processing time, and the processors will turn off here and there, we have to turn on, waited till it synchronized before taking payment.
-can't pre-authorize effectively. the function is only available for bar tabs, not on tables or bar seats, very confusing for food runners.
-we switched to another system within 4 days of use, and they billed me for $14,000, i am still stunned...i rather pour that money down into the drain
-over-promising, under-delivering. my rep sold me so many functions on the features when they can't even deliver the basics. 

i'm a bar owner for 7 years, and this is the worst POS i've deal with. DO NOT TRUST what they say!

Absolutely nothing. The system is unstable during the shift. Credit card authorization gets reversed when the system hangs which happens a few times a week. Tech support is aware of the hanging issues. But, they don't know why.

**What do you dislike about TouchBistro Restaurant POS?**

I had many credit card authorization being reversed by the Touchbistro system.  The mini Ipad hangs during credit card processing. So you have no choice but to restart the app. When app is back on, the authorization is reversed. Meanwhile, if the customer is gone, there is no way to rerun the credit card. So, your money is lost. The last incident was a $751.00 bill. After waiting on tech support for over an hour more than a few times.  We decided to go with a different POS. $18000 down the drain.

**Recommendations to others considering TouchBistro Restaurant POS:**

Look elsewhere. Unstabe system. Too long of a wait for tech support. No management is available.

They are saying if the authorization is reversed they won't be able to charge the card any more. They have no solution.

Where do I begin.? I love EVERYTHING about it.
One of the best things I've found about it which makes it SO easy, after using and adjusting over time to many different pos systemsis ; You have the ability within to pretty much navigate to ANY screen, at any given point, at any time. 
Highly recommended to anyone on the fence or in between pos systems to purchase for their company. This one wins the gold. Hands down.

If I HAD to pick a dislike, when using iPads or tablets- the font could be a little bigger and less congested on a page  (which I'm sure can be changed in some setting somewhere, anyway) but particularly in the restaurant industry when you want everything all decipherable together on one page, in an organized manner. Which is super minor because like I said- I probably just haven't figured out a way to streamline this all myself- which I will.

Just get it. You'll save yourself a LOT of headaches that can come with choosing a cheaper alternate

Zero problems at all to solve! Let me just add this. It's so SO simple to teach people to use this pos! Even those who've never used any sort of pos software ever, in their lives! From Those taking/training in on their first job,or just starting out in the restaurant industry- OR- those who've been around so long, theyve only ever used a pad and paper and much legwork to do in many steps-what this system does (and then some), In the click of one button. 

VERY little needs to be improved with this pos system.

The FOH interface is pretty iser friendly and their customer care team is really nice and easy to work worth.

**What do you dislike about TouchBistro Restaurant POS?**

The system goes down often.  My sales person lied to me about so many features I don't even know where to start.  The training and onboarding is zero.  The system failed 30 minutes into our soft opening and cost my restaurant over $6000.  They have been less than apologetic about this.  It's been nearly impossible to reach my onboarding specialist because they are obviously over booking their time.  We received little to no training and it's been hard to get myself and staff fully trained.   We were told this is an all-in-one program and that unlike other competitors I was considering there were no add on services.  The fact of the matter is that they most of the features I was excited about come from apps like Margins Edge and 7Shifts.  We were given a specific go live date which didn't happen and then I was promised we'd be fully live by our soft open date.  We barely functional by our soft open.  They had every opportunity to tell me that the date wouldn't work and they failed to do so.  Costing us an obscene amount of money as mentioned above.  Most annoying lies were that our KDS system cannot update tickets in real time.  If a server makes a mistake or a guest changes their order it's an enormous pain to correct it.  I told my sales person that this was a must have feature for my large venue.  I was assured this was something the system was capable only to find out that it wasn't.   We're basically stuck with them for now because we're not in a position to start all over.

Choose a different POS

The tool allows us to control all card payments. We have integrated the platform on all our POS systems - including smartphones and tablets. It is very easy to configure the table assignment.

There is a maximum number of possible "open" tables - it should be possible to increase this number, because especially when there is a lot going on in the restaurant, this number can easily be exceeded.

Our waiters love this tool because it makes our administration easier and the order taking much faster. Also the connection to our kitchen is completely guaranteed. With the reports we can understand how well our business is doing - we can check this day by day.

I was able to save all our products during installation and also enter special shortcuts for our handheld. This allows us to type in frequently ordered products faster. The credit card payment always works perfectly. All types of cards are accepted.

Very good tool and good networking with our POS system. The connection to the ticketprinter in the kitchen runs fast and without problems. The payment of the guests works very well - also shared invoices and rebooking are no problem.

The software is iPad based, so it's incredibly easy to learn and teach. The interface is easy to use and integrates with scheduling software such as HotSchedules and 7Shifts. 

**What do you dislike about TouchBistro Restaurant POS?**

There weren't iPad Mini cases that had a slot large enough for the card reader that we were provided with. If dropped, the card reader would be break off inside the port rendering it useless. Despite being cloud based, you had to be onsite to change anything in the system. It didn't have the option to store credit card information so we had to hold onto cards which lead to several problems with walk-outs and left cards. Customer Support left a lot to be desired as well. There were times I'd be on hold for up to an hour waiting for someone to take the call or to get me to the appropriate person.

Depending on your restaurant needs, I think there are more efficient options out there for a similar cost.

It was helpful in the beginning as it was the first POS we used, but within two years of using it we switched to a different software that offered more options.

I really like this application because it is very easy to use even for those people who do not handle technology well, this software allows them to become familiar quickly.
I also like it because more than a software has become a very important tool for my business, allowing me to carry not only a complete management of inventories that I own in my restaurant, but I can also integrate it with the administrative area and if this were not little, I can synchronize it with the tactile tablets that are on the table in order to link me in real time with the diners, being able to automate with this software many orders since it is directly linked to the kitchen, without having to hire an innkeeper. Thanks to this application, productivity has increased in my restaurant, allowing me to efficiently control costs and expenses.
Touchbistro allows me to download the reports of the day, week or month, and then save them in the cloud or if you want to be able to send these reports by email to the different teams that make up my business, as you can already notice, this tool is very useful, it is more this software has an option that allows me to monitor my food business in real time.

Occasionally the application gives headaches to the accounting team of my restaurant because it causes some confusion in accounting, but if I must say that this is resolved quickly by the Touchbistro support team, they are very professional people and very patients for their help has been vital for us. So at the moment I have no complaints about this software or about them, if I ever had it, I will update this comment.

I can say that Touchbistro is an ideal complement that you should not miss, it's amazing how many functions it has to help you manage your business quickly and safely, and if for some reason you do not use all your options, do not worry these options will not bother you at all.

Thanks to this software has a friendly interface and clean, it will allow anyone to learn to use it quickly, unlike other applications that only cause headaches with sudden changes on the fly to confuse everyone. A benefit that I should limit, is that Touchbistro will allow you to calculate your internal rate of return or better known as ROI quickly and as you want it easily from your day, month and year.
It also allows you to be able to meet all the demands of your customers in the best possible way, having at hand the demand of each dish and letting you see what foods are leaving you the highest profit margin, this software also allows you to establish relationships with your clients in order to provide them with some incentives and thus convert them into frequent customers.

This tool is clearly focused for what was developed, it is an ideal complement, for any restaurant, not only allows a complete management of all inventories of products that are used daily in the restaurant, it is also a complete solution, which is integrates not only with the administrative part of your business, it is an ideal complement for the clients, our system of tactile screens in the tables of our restaurant, was born from the use of this system, thanks to it, achieve automate many orders and make This process is faster and easier, without the need to use a waiter, because through this application, our customers can send their orders directly to the kitchen, and the whole process is done much faster, this is one of the features, which I like this application, I feel that they have said in almost everything, to bring a very complete tool to the restaurant and beverage industry.

It really is an application that I like a lot, there are few things that I can complain about this tool, maybe the prices may be a bit high, unlike other platforms that claim to provide the same services, and I think that its more default and for which I do not give 10 points, is that the configuration of this system must be done under iOS, which limits a bit the entire configuration process, it must be an application configurable from any system.

Very easy to use in the restaurant. the price is very affordable to colombian restaurants since it is only about 40 us dollars. the support line is very fast, I have not have any problems. the has develop this app to work with colombian laws.

the software has some limitations, like for example, CRM. The shop owner can not check the inventory from the online version. The APP feeling could be better.

Have been using it for 5 years with zero issues. We have recently upgraded to more terminals and a PRO Server and it has been the best investment the business has made. Can't recommend Touch Bistro enough. As a small restaurant it allows us to serve customers quickly and efficiently. As well, the back end of this product makes it make very to implement menu changes. The cloud based reporting is a helpful tool that allows us to get send out daily email reports to the whole upper management team along with being paired with a handy app that allows us to monitor the restaurant real time.  

**What do you dislike about TouchBistro Restaurant POS?**

Thus far we have  not had any issues with Touch Bistro or their support team. If anything changes we will update the review but after so many years of using the product there have been no hiccups.  The support team has been quick to help us make necessary updates or find settings we did not know existed. They are receptive to customer suggestions and we have seen one of our suggestions implemented!

This product is the best small business solution as a POS system I have ever come across.

We have added multiple iPads as POS terminals now and it has been a major upgrade from our previous POS System. Touch Bistro does not require much technical knowledge making it great for all restaurant owners that are looking for a simple solution that does not require assistance from support to set up. The user interface is very friendly unlike older more mainstream systems and our staff love it!

I have been on both ends of this service and I would have to say my utmost absolute favorite part of this POS system is truly that once you get up to the cashier, your food or coffee is already waiting for you since whilst standing in line, the wait staff can take your order right then and there! It's so incredibly easy to use, and easy to understand.

Touch Bistro has been an incredible ROI for our company enabling servers to send more 1:1 time with guests increasing satisfaction as well as a breeze on the back end. Set up was super easy and training took less than 1 hr to get everyone going.
I am so glad we decided to go with a hand held option and partnered with Touch Bistro.

And would love to have online ordering and payment fully integrated for take out orders (ie: guest orders online, pays online, the the order prints up automatically in our kitchen)

Not able to analyze multiple restaurants on the same dashboard.  We need to sign into each location on the cloud in order to compare numbers.

Use the scheduling program 7shifts with TouchtBistro.  It allows for budgeting as well so you can tighten up your payroll cost.

Access to create daily promotions on the fly and update pricing. This allows us to follow the market trends when dealing with centre of the plate items like NY striploins etc and put in weekly or even daily market menu prices to combat high cost.

TouchBistro was very easy to set up, and their customer service is great. I also appreciate the updates they have made in the short time (7 months) we have been using the system. The training from TouchBistro was also really good.

It would be really nice to have a training mode for new staff. It took us quite a while to figure out how to set up our craft cocktails and other modifiers: more best practice info would have been helpful.

If you can visit or talk to another similar business using TouchBistro, I highly recommend that.

Split bills, reporting, trading tables when needed are all super simple with TouchBistro. We found it a great tool in opening a new restaurant and our servers all appreciate how it makes their job easier.

After selling my business the new owner still had access to my entire history of Touch Bistro. A month before the sale I contacted TB and asked how my sales history etc information will be ported over to either a new account or held in the cloud in the event I needed to retrieve information due to an audit. They assured me I could download the system to a new personal iPad and use that as a link on demand through their tech department when needed. On the day before closing I did this with a tech downloading all my business historical data.

Needless to say, the new owner of the business continues to have access to my historical financial information. I have called perhaps 10 times to TB and have been assured at least 4 times this has been done. Calling them is a task itself as they don't seem to be able to manage their growth and look after their customers. No one seems to know what to do and how to cut off the access to my financial information. I suspect its not the first time someone has sold their business and the new owners kept the TB POS system, but I don't trust TB anymore and will not use it in any of my new restaurants.

Easy set up and stable. Easy to to split the check.

If there is a party for three people, and two of the customer wants to split the share order between them. And third person just pay what he/she order. Share order can only divide by three not two.

A lots customers want to split the check at the end of the meal. Touchbistro POS is so simple to use just move the items around seat number

Compared to other systems it was not user friendly, and very simple. Reports were difficult to create and read.

We did not realize any benefits from touch bistro. It was not easy to use.

**What do you like best about TouchBistro Restaurant POS?**

Overall, the product is so far very stable and easy to set up.  It always takes time to get acclimated with new systems, but this one is pretty intuitive and they have some good videos/tutorials to get the staff up to speed.  

**What do you dislike about TouchBistro Restaurant POS?**

One big issue is the fact that you can't have an inclusive tax on select items (alcohol).  You can set up an inclusive tax, but it is either for ALL of the items, or none.  Big oversight as the majority of bars/restaurants that I've ever been to (mine included) have the tax included in the alcoholic drinks, but not on the food.  Other major issue is you can not add a seat to a tab.  A major feature I liked was the ability to preauthorize cards/tabs, but this is often nullified by the fact that I can't add a seat to a tab, and the workaround that I would normally do (attach a card to a table) is not an option either. Many times a day, we start tabs for guests that end up wanting to split item/bill after the fact.  We end up having to delete items and re-ringing them on a new tab.  We often hold a card for a table, but if you actually swipe the card/preauthorize, it turns it into a tab, where I can't add seats!  'One of these things is not good, the fact that I can do neither is a real pain.

Very cost effective, just be aware of its' limitations and use the trial as much as possible.
