Permission administration can be challenging: Managing roles and permissions is often complexand it can be difficult to ensure the right access levels without extensive configuration.

Backend configuration lacks intuitiveness: The structure and layout of the backend could be more user-friendly. Navigating settings and finding specific options sometimes feels unintuitive, which can slow down administration tasks.

The Support Desk triage tickets very quickly and efficiently. The support team who then reach out have been, without fail, generous and supportive with their knowledge, not to mention patient when required. They explain things clearly and never make a question feel stupid.

I find that there are opportunities for Totara Learn to be more connected within itself, as the different products within the software don't always connect to each other efficiently. This specifically affects the talent experience. While there is a way to do talent identification or offer talent marketplaces, it is not naturally built into the system, requiring a lot of manual efforts to make it happen. We have been using Totara now for over 5 years and it has become essential for our organisation, which has over 10,000 staff. It handles compliance training and profession career development incredibly well allowing for complex allocations of course across our large staff base, with clear tracking and automated reminders, which helps keep everything simple for staff while allowing for us as admins to serve the wider business need.

The platform supports appraisals along with training in one place, so staff can manage their learning, goals, and CPD all within the same system.
