**What do you like best about Total Plan by MSCI?**

the ability to bring together all of your investments under one roof and be able to analyse and generate reporting

**What do you dislike about Total Plan by MSCI?**

lack of risk assessment and risk analysis metrics. Also the UI its not that great. TPM also lacks of good integrations with Excel and also their AI its not that great and depth yet. The pricing needs to be justify it with integration to Barra One

**What problems is Total Plan by MSCI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Total Plan Manager, many institutional investors relied on fragmented processes across spreadsheets, manual data validation, and disconnected systems to manage portfolio data, reporting requirements, and investment workflows. TPM improved this by providing a centralised platform for portfolio hierarchy management, fund data organisation, valuation uploads, and performance-related workflows.

Key benefits include improved data consistency, reduced manual reconciliation effort, faster onboarding of new portfolios, and better visibility across complex investment structures. For example, teams can standardise historical accounting data templates and validation processes, reducing operational errors and accelerating implementation timelines.

From a user experience perspective, TPM provides a structured workflow for managing complex institutional portfolios. Integrations and data ingestion capabilities are important strengths, although implementation requires careful planning due to the complexity of investment data. ROI is typically achieved through reduced manual processes, improved governance, and scalability for larger portfolios. Support and onboarding are critical success factors, particularly during data migration and configuration. AI capabilities could further enhance automated validation, anomaly detection, and data quality management.

  ### 2. Great multi-asset class portfolio analytics software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Total Plan by MSCI?**

The Caissa platform helps us leverage our data to improve our investment decision process. Harmonized transparency data really helps us analyze and monitor our portfolio.

**What do you dislike about Total Plan by MSCI?**

The implementation process took a bit longer than expected. But the effort put in up front pays off in the long term building out a robust set of exposure data to combine with performance, liquidity, and risk metrics.

**What problems is Total Plan by MSCI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Caissa platform filled a gap in our tech stack. We did not have a multi-asset class exposure aggregation tool. Our team has benefitted from reviewing our portfolio for risk concentrations.
