"Life changing work experience"
5/5
What do you like best about Toptal?

Transparency. From the beginning, starting with the vetting process, passing through the first job (which landed in no time), and the career improvement courses offered, I always knew what the next step would be. Special compliments to the vetting team; they were extremely considerate and human throughout my long and challenging process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toptal?

The only downside I can think of is that sometimes landing another job may take some time. You need to be aware of that and save money for these in-between job periods. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toptal?

Nothing much I don't like about them, but the interview process may be a little strict to screen talents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good work and life balance"
5/5
What do you like best about Toptal?

Toptal helps me to find good clients matching my skills. Unlike other freelance networks, employers struggle with finding good engineers and vice versa.

I work in my best focus time of the day, they don't track my working time. I can work more today and work less tomorrow, the productivity and efficiency are more important.

I can work in the morning, then do some exercise like swimming in the afternoon and then spend a couple more hours working and meeting with clients in the evening. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toptal?

When looking for new projects in Toptal, you may receive many invitations to apply, or you send many proposals for interesting jobs, but the rate that Toptal introduces you to clients is not high. Maybe when you are already done with some projects via Toptal, you will be able to get hired more quickly.

Most clients are from America and Europe. It's hard to find clients in Asian time zones. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Toptal?

Quality of clients, the seamlessness of processes, hassle-free payouts, and excellent hourly rates.

Freedom to choose the full-time, part-time or hourly jobs and your own rates. Transparent self-service apps and web platform

Great slack community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toptal?

Tough entry criteria, only around 3% of applicants get through the application process if you look from the client-side, it's actually a thing necessary to maintain great quality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The benefits of being a freelancer, without the issues that typically come with it"
5/5
What do you like best about Toptal?

It always has been a hassle to find quality clients and to get paid, and some of the other online platforms are just a race to the bottom where you have to be paid pennies to be accepted. Toptal fixed these two pains for me, where they provide several jobs with professional clients consistently, and payment is always guaranteed for the work I do, getting paid regularly and fairly with a rate that matches my experience level. They are also always making sure they support the Toptal community and help anyone struggling with various issues such as being unable to land a job and providing several learning tracks for some of the most in-demand technical skills. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toptal?

Thankfully I haven't had any issues while working for Toptal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Toptal?

Possibility of working completely remote, be it hourly, part-time or full-time with excellent clients from all around the world.

Freedom regarding working hours, since there are clients from all around the world you will always find one that matches your working hours.

Pay is very competitive and your skills are greatly valued, no matter where you are from. Billing is done completely by the platform, so you don't need to worry about invoicing the client or anything like that.

The platform also helps a lot in finding jobs based on your skill set and will actively suggest open positions when you don't have any clients. Usually, you won't stay without a client for more than two or so weeks.

The matching team is very friendly and will always help you with any issues or questions you find, plus the company is always investing on talents and even coming as far as providing training in new technologies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toptal?

Honestly, I don't think there are any major downsides, the platform is very good.

The only minor issue I can think of is the small period (~20 days) between a work week/period being completed and the payment is made, for someone just getting started it's quite some time, but after around a month in you won't perceive that time difference anymore, as the payments will just keep coming. "Great Platform for Remote Software Developers"
4/5
What do you like best about Toptal?

• Opportunities to work with amazing companies and communities from all over the world

• Daily updates of the jobs available on the platform

• Much bigger payments than the average of most Asian countries

• Freedom, you define your own work hours, time, and environment

• Incredible team of internal staff that would help Toptalers with any issues

• Amazing communities on its Slack community. A lot of professional skilled, helpful, and kind people

• No need to hassle yourself with the invoice and payment to the clients. Toptal take care of it. All we need to do is finish the job, and we'll get paid Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toptal?

• You have to really showcase your profile and experience, or else, you'll get a harder time getting your first client

• No job certainties, you can get your clients in a short time, or you can spend some time idling while getting your first client. Of course, as a freelancer that's normal, but I can see that may be a concern for some people Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
