I've encountered a couple instances when the finish times of my sessions were not captured in the desktop app. After contacting support, I was told that this was most likely due to my cursor being mistakenly positioned wrongly while labeling each session, limiting its capacity to update in real time. Finding a prior project and resetting the timer takes time as well, because I have to look for the item I want using the online interface and manually copy and paste descriptions and tags. One thing I dislike about Toggl Track is that it does not allow me to set a timer for my activities in 5 or 15 minute intervals, thus I cannot obtain correct seconds. The timer will occasionally show that it did not turn on after I set it. When this occurs, I must manually log in when I begin working, which adds another degree of complication and consumes more of my time each day just keeping records. Toggl enables me to learn from previous projects and estimate better for future projects; I can learn from metrics and improve time estimates; and I appreciate the multiple perspectives, which help me understand my calendar and the projects on which my team spends the most time. In a chaotic office, the simple yet adaptable design allows me to easily keep track of how much time I spend on various activities. Toggl Track's simplicity makes it a wonderful tool; I've used it for both business and personal time monitoring. It's incredibly adjustable and error-checking, and timer start/stop is quite smooth; even the option to change the start time of a running timer is very useful and intuitive from a user standpoint. Setting up workspaces isn't the nicest part since if you modify information, such as the name, it doesn't appear to be changed. When you use the plugin and rapidly test the name and project, it might be difficult to select the proper project. The standalone Mac app has an unpleasant tendency of finishing tasks in hibernation. The thing I like the most is the ability to create reports filtered by team, by client, by period, etc. This allows me, during a project for example, to understand if we are spending too much time compared to the estimates agreed with the client, or it is very useful for making new estimates for new projects. I dislike the current design of Toggl Track because there is too much dead space and it limits users to viewing a small number of lines/projects at a time. I think it would be beneficial to provide options for more dynamic configurations, such as viewing multiple projects at once.
