I've been using this AI-based program, Togal.AI, for about a year now, and it has completely transformed the way I do takeoffs in the painting field. Before this, I was doing everything the old-school way—paper plans, calculator, roller wheel, highlighters, and rulers. It was time-consuming and inefficient. On a good day, I could finish 2 to 4 smaller jobs. Larger or multi-family projects could take up to a week or more.

Since switching to Togal.AI, my workflow has drastically improved. I can now complete small projects in just 30 minutes to an hour, and larger ones in 2 to 3 hours, including time spent reviewing the specifications. The program is incredibly user-friendly, and the ease of integration into our existing systems and workflow was seamless. It took very little time to get up and running, and training the team was quick and straightforward.

The only downside at this point is that it doesn’t yet support AI takeoffs for exterior work. The software does need some additional features to build assemblies, better excel integration, more tools to calculate material measurements such as panels, wallcovering drops, patterns and more. It would be exciting if creating your own mathematical formulas via code/ programming was an option for advanced users. The context: We manufacture and sell a premium brand of hand-moulded composite decking and siding (cladding). We were looking for AI-assisted take-off & measurement software to help our international teams of estimators turn around a high volume of quote requests from architects, installers and clients around the world. Togal.ai was an obvious choice from the first demo.

The software: intuitive, easy to learn, easy to use. A ton of resources from knowledgebase articles to videos to training. Great at supporting plans of varying quality, and great at take-off's for exterior designs of decks, siding, quayside wharfs, sidewalks and other unique designs. AI isn't perfect every time, so Togal.ai's manual tools make it very easy to correct any AI mistakes. Overall a massive efficiency & accuracy boost to our quoting process.
