What do you dislike about Toad Edge?

A graphical interface for connecting tables and creating queries based on that would help a lot. Also creating better schema diagrams from the loaded databases would help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User Friendly SQL Tooling"

What do you like best about Toad Edge?

Toad is extremely user friendly. From the moment I jumped into using Toad (at the time having nearly zero experience with SQL) I was able to easily grasp and effectively utilize the tools at hand.

Beyond usability Toad provides a wealth of customization tools that I find to be very pleasant. I'm quite particular about my development environment, so being able to lay things out the way I please is highly valuable to me.

As I've gained more experience with SQL and delved deeper into it, I've rarely encountered cases where Toad was not enough. The few times I have had to dive into SQL Server Management Studio I have sorely missed the Toad experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toad Edge?

My biggest complaint with Toad is lack of support for Postgres. PG is too big a player to get left out of the list of supported DBs (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc). After my company made the switch from SQL Server to PG I've had to find an alternative SQL editor for working with PG. While I'm mostly happy with the new SQL editor I would have chosen to stick with Toad. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Toad Edge:

If you are using one of the supported DBs then Toad is a no brainer. It is easy to use and provides a richer toolset than most all other SQL editors out there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Toad Edge solving and how is that benefiting you?

Toad has allowed our company to onboard people like myself (with little prior SQL experience) and quickly get them ramped up with simple SQL operations. Additionally, it has allowed each such team member to grow into full use of it's toolset and use it's more powerful capabilities like scripting and automation to solve common business needs like reporting. What do you like best about Toad Edge?

I have used TOAD for both MySQL and Oracle development. The auto-complete feature is very nice and the tool comes ready with SQL highlighting / formatting.

TOAD also has some neat features to compare databases and script out the difference. I have found this to be quite useful.

TOAD has an automation tool which I have used to script something quickly and run it on a scheduled basis. Simple and efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toad Edge?

It would be nice if TOAD could store some script history (like MySQL workbench does). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Toad Edge?

By far the BEST database management tool on the market. I used this for a few years back about 5 years ago and it was awesome then and even better now. Real easy to set up and get going. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
