I spend the VAST majority of my time in the Schema Browser and SQL Editor windows. I haven't tried \*all\* of them, but I haven't found a competing product that can come close! The SQL Editor does what you'd hope it would do in most every case. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Toad Edge? TOAD's price is out of the reach of smaller businesses users. I suggest selling a "basic edition" of TOAD for a reduced price ($250?). I'm willing to bet the number of additional licenses they would sell would be more than enough to justify a lower price point. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Toad Edge: If you can afford it, buy it. You won't regret it. FYI: I've tried TOAD for SQL Server...still pretty good, but TOAD for Oracle is gold. We use it for essentially all interactions with the database other than things that require SQL\*Plus on the server running the instance(s). I don't use many of the administrative tools, and not very often at that. Benefits? I estimate I can do the same thing in TOAD about 30% faster than in other products I've tried to use. AC Andrew C. Technical Co-Founder Music Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) 2/1/2016 "User Friendly SQL Tooling" 3.5/5 What do you like best about Toad Edge? Toad is extremely user friendly. From the moment I jumped into using Toad (at the time having nearly zero experience with SQL) I was able to easily grasp and effectively utilize the tools at hand. Beyond usability Toad provides a wealth of customization tools that I find to be very pleasant. I'm quite particular about my development environment, so being able to lay things out the way I please is highly valuable to me. As I've gained more experience with SQL and delved deeper into it, I've rarely encountered cases where Toad was not enough. The few times I have had to dive into SQL Server Management Studio I have sorely missed the Toad experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Toad Edge? My biggest complaint with Toad is lack of support for Postgres. PG is too big a player to get left out of the list of supported DBs (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc). After my company made the switch from SQL Server to PG I've had to find an alternative SQL editor for working with PG. While I'm mostly happy with the new SQL editor I would have chosen to stick with Toad. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Toad Edge: If you are using one of the supported DBs then Toad is a no brainer. Toad has allowed our company to onboard people like myself (with little prior SQL experience) and quickly get them ramped up with simple SQL operations. Additionally, it has allowed each such team member to grow into full use of it's toolset and use it's more powerful capabilities like scripting and automation to solve common business needs like reporting.
