Direct deposit of invoices is what most all vendors want, accurate syncing with our accounting software and customer service that is typically within hours of resolving something if not just minutes. **What do you dislike about Tipalti?** I'm very hard pressed to come up with a dislike. For example: If they want to pull a report of their payments as a requirement for a major purchase, the document they can pull looks like a generic word document that anyone can pull up on their computer. We had to create and provide supporting professional documentation with a letterhead. 2nd Example: Tipalti does not provide 1099's...our other software did this. It does not open the whole invoice review page, meaning I can't read the approvers and message and refer to/cross reference the invoice simultaneously. This means I usually end up having to dig around for my original invoice submission to see where I may need to correct something, etc. **What problems is Tipalti solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tipalti successfully addresses the visibility issues that can often cause confusion, frustration, and miscommunication in payment situations. The sales guys are excellent at describing what features the product will have in the future. The OCR prefill is accurate, but usually takes 24 hours to prefill. **What do you dislike about Tipalti?** Onboarding was incomplete and long, even though Tipalti said they'd charge us a couple thousand dollar fee if we were not fully implemted in 90 days. They forgot to setup some important things like the second admin, subcompany, and ACH instructions even though they were part of the requirements for us to not be charged the "failure to onboard quickly" fee. We had to request them separately because each was done by a different department and our onboarding "manager" had turned us over to production support without the services in our contract being implemented. The product itself does get money moved but is not straight forward and in most cases is misleading. Except for the vendor portal which captures CIP and payment info at onboarding, the product is basically Bill.com/Brex/Chase Billpay with a more confusing workflow. We filled out a survey which an hour long call to explain our issues with a C-Suite exec who introduced himself by saying "We go around the executive team in a circle to decide who gets stuck with these calls and it was my turn." After 8 weeks we got a follow up from a CS person who pointed us to the online help docs showing how the system should work, so we sent him the then 3 month old screenshots of the system not working how Tipalti's documentation said it should. Service is terrible and takes weeks to resolve issues. We had an issue showing how bad service is when we attempted to pay an international vendor. Tipalti Risk asked for CIP docs which were provided same day and vendor was approved as payable by Tipalti - great! Except they weren't approved dispite Tipalti showing them as payable in the system. After messaging for a week because calls don't get answered or returned I got a response asking for the CIP docs again. I paid the vendor outside of Tipalti so they could get their money then messaged Risk back requesting the payment be canceled because there was not a way to cancel the payment while it was in Risk quarentine. I reached out to support requesting they payment be canceled manually and who responded they can't process the payment until the CIP docs were received. I pointed out they had already been sent, the vendor was marked as payable, and the request was the cancel the transaction so it wasn't duplicated. Instead of canceling the transaction, they requested the CIP docs again and removed the payable status. It took 10 days for them to get to the resolution I was asking for, even though they did it the wrong way. Edit 3 months later: We decided to switch away from Tipalti after we had more issues with payments not being processed due to Tipalti's Risk Department and then duplicated. We requested a refund for the remainder of the contract (6 months). Tipalti dragged their feet or straight up didn't respond for three months before issuing a refund for the remaining 3 months saying they couldn't back date the refund to the date of our request because legal hadn't approved it and they could only refund going forward.
