What I like most is that I don’t have to keep checking different spreadsheets and emails to figure out where an idea or patent application stands. I use the Idea Manager and Portfolio Manager regularly, and the tagging makes it easier to sort through everything. The examiner analysis and Art Unit prediction are also useful when we’re reviewing a case and deciding what to do next. One area for improvement is the onboarding experience. Because TIP Tool includes a wide range of features, from idea management to portfolio analytics and AI-powered insights, it can take some time for new users to become familiar with the platform. Before TIP Tool, a lot of our IP work was spread across emails, spreadsheets, docketing data, and conversations with outside counsel. It was difficult to get a clear view of which ideas were worth pursuing, where each application stood, and where we were spending time and budget. TIP Tool brings that information together. We can capture and review ideas, track applications, and use examiner, Art Unit, and cost insights to have better conversations about what to file, continue, or reconsider. As someone who's just started using the TIP Tool, my first impression has been very positive. The UI is clean and well organized, even though patent management itself is a complex process. The onboarding experience has been great thanks to the short explainer videos, which made it much easier to learn the platform step by step. I haven't explored every integration yet, but everything I've used so far has worked smoothly and the overall performance has been solid. The AI-powered insights and analytics are a nice addition and make the platform feel more advanced. From what I've seen, the features offer good value for the pricing. As a first-time user, the biggest challenge is the learning curve. Patent and IP management is naturally a complex domain, so it takes some time to understand all the workflows and features. It’s easy to move ideas through different stages from capture to patent filing without needing constant follow-ups. I found the product very useful for the list of ideas that I had. Used to work over emails before and then moved to excel. But excel got corrupted once and took me a long time to recover the idea list I had (thankfully, I was able to do so eventually!). I found the tool very easy to use and easy to understand. I do not come from a patent background, but the tool didn't make me realize that. Though there are 4 workflow processes defined, but internally I used them according to the process I had in my organization. My manager too loved it when I showed the tool to him and we may eventually adopt it companywide (though we aren't that big a number). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about TIP Tool? The only thing that I would want additionally, for now, is separate admin and manager roles.
