## About TinyURL
TinyURL is a URL shortening and link management software that allows individuals and organizations to create short, easy-to-share links and manage how those links are used over time. It is commonly used by marketing teams, product teams, developers and operations teams that need reliable, long-lasting links for digital and offline distribution. At its core, TinyURL converts long web addresses into shorter URLs that are easier to share across channels such as email, SMS, social media, print materials, QR codes and internal tools. Unlike many basic URL shorteners, TinyURL links are permanent by default, meaning they do not expire unless the user chooses to change or disable them. This makes the platform suitable for long-term campaigns, documentation and public-facing resources. TinyURL also functions as a link management platform, offering tools that help users organize, control and analyze their links. Users can create custom aliases, group links with tags, update destination URLs, set expiration rules and generate QR codes tied to their short links. For tracking and measurement, TinyURL provides link analytics, including click counts, referrers, geographic data, devices and traffic trends over time. For teams and high-volume use cases, TinyURL supports bulk link creation and API access, allowing links to be generated and managed programmatically. This is useful for workflows such as SMS messaging, marketing campaigns, product notifications and automated systems that require large numbers of short links. TinyURL also supports branded domains, enabling businesses to use their own custom domains instead of a shared shortening domain. This helps improve brand recognition and trust when links are shared externally. Founded in 2002, TinyURL is one of the oldest and longest-running URL shortening services and is used globally by individuals, small businesses and enterprise organizations that need a simple, reliable, and scalable solution for link shortening and link management.

## TinyURL Reviews
  ### 1. They Are No Longer Tiny!

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2022

**What do you like best about TinyURL?**

TinyURL is one of the original URL shorteners -- and I used to really love it. I depended on it for business and personal use, and I enjoyed the fact that it was free and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about TinyURL?**

The URL length, in my opinion, has gotten so much longer that I have now shifted to competitors. I feel that the links looked "silly" due to their length, and many companies have shifted to competitors.

**Recommendations to others considering TinyURL:**

I would consider competitors as well.

**What problems is TinyURL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I hate long links, and TinyURL solved that issue. With limited character counts online, it's a necessity in the business to shorten URLs whenever possible. This did the trick!

  ### 2. Good for its purpose

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about TinyURL?**

TinyURL is very good for shortening very long URLs into formats that can be used in email, SMS and other purposes. The URL that is generated then can be analyzed for hits vs other URLs.

**What do you dislike about TinyURL?**

Some environments don't like the formatting of TinyURLs URLs and some IT departments have issues with the security of the platform. So I don't see it used very much anymore.

**Recommendations to others considering TinyURL:**

Make sure your IT department is OK with this solution as you are considering it. They may have their own method of shortening URLs that they prefer to use.

**What problems is TinyURL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shortening long complex URLs and making URLs that correspond to specific campaigns or channels. This has helped with post-campaign analysis.

  ### 3. A great URL Shortner to use!

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juan G. | System Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2019

**What do you like best about TinyURL?**

It's extremely user-friendly, versatile and can be applied to almost any industry where any form of URL or linking system is used.

**What do you dislike about TinyURL?**

There are truly none I can think of especially when put in comparison of other URL shortening service renderers.

**Recommendations to others considering TinyURL:**

If you need it just USE IT!!!

**What problems is TinyURL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly IT related problems I have started using tiny URL as our inhouse URL supply medium especially with the long URL's and allocation addresses we use in our companies work systems.

  ### 4. A basic URL shortener

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Romain V. | International Communications, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2019

**What do you like best about TinyURL?**

tiny URL homepage is straightforward and does not try to sell you a lot of other products or services. Paste your URL, make it tiny and leave with your new link (with the option to customize it).

**What do you dislike about TinyURL?**

Even if tinyURL does the job, it is hard to know why someone would choose it over some of its more popular competitors (bitly, google url shortener). I can't really see a service that is a "difference maker".

**What problems is TinyURL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tinyurl might have the most efficient homepage when it comes to shortening URLs. The ability to add it to your browser toolbar is also useful, if you have to use this function a lot.

  ### 5. Useful

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2019

**What do you like best about TinyURL?**

The ability to protect my links when I upload them on to sites

**What do you dislike about TinyURL?**

The ads that my clients have to endure when they try to access my links

**What problems is TinyURL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Protection

  ### 6. TinyURL Is useful for social media bursts

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jared T. | Senior Designer, Higher Education, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2019

**What do you like best about TinyURL?**

Makes sharing links easier for social media

**What do you dislike about TinyURL?**

It doesn't double as a file host, which I think would put them above in their market.

**What problems is TinyURL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing shopping and information links that would otherwise take up too much space to simply share.

  ### 7. Great for quick convenience.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Animation | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2019

**What do you like best about TinyURL?**

You can copy/paste any link and it will give you a shorter link right away.

**What do you dislike about TinyURL?**

Their website needs an upgrade compared to bit.ly

**Recommendations to others considering TinyURL:**

Upgrade the website.

**What problems is TinyURL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When sharing links on Twitter, it's best to shorten the URL to save on characters.
