## TinyMCE Reviews
  ### 1. A reliable WYSIWYG for React/Node stacks with customization options, but it takes patience.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pardeep J. | Software Engineer, Computer Software, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about TinyMCE?**

TinyMCE has been our go-to for rich text editing because of the number of internal admin dashboards, SaaS platforms, and custom CMS that we, as a software engineering team, develop and maintain. The biggest reason we value TinyMCE is because of the official @tinymce/tinymce-react wrapper. Because of this, we save a lot of engineering hours, and drop @tinymce/tinymce-react into our frontend and don't need to build a custom text editor that would otherwise require frameworks like Slate or Draft.js. TinyMCE also enables more complex text editing. Here, the easy-to-use and reliable TinyMCE editor APIs means that we can automate function like auto-save and structure our content to avoid having our internal APIs receive unvalidated content. TinyMCE is also great for a custom workflow and the integration of custom content that we receive from a text-editable backend. The unvalidated content, which is also received from a backend, is not relic, so the content of the PostgreSQL database can also be unvalidated and it will be unvalidated without issues. I also like the easy-to-use editor APIs and the flexibility in customer content.

**What do you dislike about TinyMCE?**

The software editor has many features which show well developed engineering. Though I am sure there are some other desirable engineering features, I am having some problems with the software editor. Most annoying to the engineering community is the steep learning curve because of the complexity. Because there are no standard plugins to help with extensions, developers are left to create and implement features through API calls and by using the API.

Continuous problems with styling and maintenance. The backend which is the TinyMCE iFrame, in order to be in agreement with the front end of the React app, occasionally may need some CSS plugins. Because of the continuous need to structure the editor to fit the processes of various administrative panels, it has a tendency to become quite a complex problem.

There may be some performance problems due to the editor being unable to load HTML blocks with high resolution images. Resolving plugin conflicts also takes quite a good deal of time. With the right configurations, the editor, in layout, is quite responsive and caters to most if not all mobile layouts. The closed source editor has a lot of features compared to the open source editor, PowerPaste included, but they are both paid plugins and add to the cost of the SaaS products.

**What problems is TinyMCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TinyMCE is the link between our technical system and our non-technical content systems. Before TinyMCE we were often needing to resolve support tickets missing content, because blog posts would publish without the necessary HTML. Our content editors were unhappy about printable publications because of the poor-quality HTML.

TinyMCE is great for content editing because of their support for content sanitization, browser compatibility and formatting clean up. Our marketing and operations teams have their content editing empowering them to format product descriptions, create build-email templates, and publish content in other languages.

Custom editor logics need the high investment of engineering resources to maintain. After investing more time and resources to publish content and maintain the structured data HTML, we’ve been able to publish the necessary content quickly and maintain the HTML content and structured data. Because of TinyMCE, our content workflows have reached incredible speeds. Our focus isn’t just content creation, but also to create content collaboration, streamlined publication and structured content system maintenance.

**Official Response from Brad Lawless:**

> Thank you for this detailed and thoughtful review — this is exactly the kind of feedback that helps us understand how engineering teams are using TinyMCE in production, and we genuinely appreciate the time you took to write it.

It's great to hear that the @tinymce/tinymce-react wrapper has saved your team meaningful engineering hours, and that TinyMCE has replaced a stack of support tickets with reliable HTML output across your content workflows.

We also hear your criticisms. The learning curve around plugin architecture, CSS isolation within the iframe, plugin conflicts, and performance with high-resolution HTML blocks are all friction points we hear from engineering teams — as is the cost impact of paid plugins in multi-product SaaS environments.

We're always working to improve the product and make it the best solution on all fronts for your needs, and feedback like this helps. Thanks again for the honest breakdown.

  ### 2. Easy to Integrate, Highly Customizable Rich Text Editing with TinyMCE

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarthak B. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2026

**What do you like best about TinyMCE?**

TinyMCE is easy to integrate, highly customizable, and provides a smooth rich text editing experience. Its wide range of plugins and reliable formatting make it very convenient for building professional editors.

**What do you dislike about TinyMCE?**

One downside of TinyMCE is that some advanced features require paid plugins, which can increase costs for smaller projects. Also, deep customization sometimes needs extra configuration and documentation lookup. Performance can feel slightly heavy when loading multiple editors on the same page.

**What problems is TinyMCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TinyMCE helps us provide a rich text editing experience for users without building an editor from scratch. It simplifies content formatting, image insertion, and structured content creation. This saves development time and ensures consistent formatting across the application.

**Official Response from Brad Lawless:**

> Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Sarthak! We are always happy to hear real-world examples of how devs can use our plugin architecture to absorb complexity and accelerate their overall app development timelines.

We released a new AI feature this week (TinyMCE AI) that brings conversational AI chat, inline quick actions, and an AI Review mode to the editor in an easily managed plugin that requires minimal configuration compared to building a similar solution in-house.

  ### 3. A powerful and customizable editor that feels great to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** SHRUTI M. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about TinyMCE?**

It’s extremely customizable and feels like working with a real-world processor. The documentation is excellent, and the platform itself is stable, mature, and widely supported.

**What do you dislike about TinyMCE?**

TinyMCE can feel heavy and more complex than it needs to be to configure, especially when several important features are locked behind paid plans. In my experience, its collaboration tools also feel a step behind more modern alternatives, which makes it harder to rely on for real-time teamwork.

**What problems is TinyMCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TinyMCE gives us an easy, consistent way to create and edit content, without needing any technical skills. It keeps the process straightforward and helps us work efficiently when updating content.

**Official Response from Brad Lawless:**

> Thanks for the updated review, Shruti! Our documentation team will be happy to hear you find the documentation so useful.

We're working this year on improving the developer experience to make the editor easier to configure as well as enhancements to our collaboration features.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on those once they debut.

  ### 4. Intuitive Editor with Some Plugin Hurdles

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lê Phương T. | Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2025

**What do you like best about TinyMCE?**

I love using TinyMCE because it solves the problem of content formatting for non-technical users. With TinyMCE, our content editors can now easily create well-formatted content without needing to touch raw HTML or deal with user-unfriendly and cumbersome editors. The feature I like most about TinyMCE is its intuitive and user-friendly interface. Even for those without any technical background, it allows our content editors to effortlessly format text, insert images, and embed media. This means anyone on our team can produce clean, consistent content without worrying about breaking page layouts, drastically reducing the time spent correcting formatting issues. This efficiency helps in readying content for publishing faster. Furthermore, with TinyMCE, multiple team members can edit content with confidence, knowing that the editor maintains consistency. The initial setup was straightforward and well-documented, with clear instructions for embedding the editor into our CMS, configuring the toolbar, and enabling basic plugins. The seamless use with marketing automation platforms allows us to format email content and landing pages that sync directly to our system, making our workflow more integrated. Moreover, the reason we switched to TinyMCE from our previous editor was due to TinyMCE's support for images, tables, embedded media, and its advanced styling options, which were not available before. Overall, I appreciate how TinyMCE significantly enhances our ability to create rich, professional content.

**What do you dislike about TinyMCE?**

First, some plugins require additional setup or coding knowledge, which can be challenging for non-developers. This complexity might deter users without a technical background from fully utilizing the capabilities of TinyMCE. Secondly, editing very long articles or pages with lots of images can occasionally feel slightly slower, depending on the browser and system resources. This performance lag can interrupt workflow and reduce efficiency, particularly for content-heavy CMS users.

**What problems is TinyMCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use TinyMCE to enable non-technical users to format content consistently, reducing errors and manual HTML handling. Its user-friendly interface speeds up editing, allows multiple users to confidently collaborate, and handles content creation for CMS and marketing platforms efficiently.

**Official Response from Brad Lawless:**

> Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review. We always love hearing about how TinyMCE helps our customers provide advanced editing functionality to their users with a minimum of implementation complexity.

We appreciate your feedback on plugin setup and the performance of very long, image-heavy pages. Simplifying configuration and improving speed for content-dense use cases are areas we continue to invest in.

Thanks again for choosing TinyMCE and for being part of our community.

  ### 5. Highly Customizable Editor with Ease of Use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** KAMAL K. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2025

**What do you like best about TinyMCE?**

I find TinyMCE to be an exceptionally flexible and customizable editor, which perfectly suits my needs as a software developer dealing with complex client requirements. TinyMCE's rich feature set, allowing for the complete saving of HTML content and viewing it in both source code and final preview, is incredibly useful. I appreciate the comprehensive documentation, which makes it very easy to understand the TinyMCE editor and its features, simplifying the initial setup process. Its customizable nature allows me to adapt it efficiently for various text modifications, unlike other editors that become complicated. Due to these attributes, I am highly likely to recommend TinyMCE, giving it a score of 10.

**What do you dislike about TinyMCE?**

For some of TinyMCE's advanced features, it becomes complicated to use. Additionally, there are issues with license restrictions which can be limiting. Formatting documents within the editor sometimes presents challenges, which can be frustrating.

**What problems is TinyMCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use TinyMCE for its flexibility and customization, which simplifies complex text requirements. Its rich features and comprehensive documentation make it easy to implement and use, improving my workflow.

**Official Response from Brad Lawless:**

> Thanks you for the glowing recommendation! Hearing that TinyMCE fits smoothly into your workflow truly makes our day. We designed it to make meeting complex requirements as simple as it can be, and our technical writers help ensure every bit of the code is documented well.

We very much appreciate your notes on advanced features and formatting quirks; feedback like yours helps us keep improving.

Thank you so much for choosing TinyMCE and taking the time to share your experience.

  ### 6. Rich Features, Easy Setup, But Pricey Add-Ons

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos Osvaldo C. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about TinyMCE?**

I use TinyMCE in multiple scenarios where I need rich text components, such as a Blog Post page. TinyMCE offers a multitude of features out of the box, which significantly speeds up the development process. Features like tables, formatting, and the ability to work with images are incredibly valuable as they address client requests for complex functionalities easily. The solutions provided by TinyMCE are often very clean and simple, which is something my clients greatly appreciate due to the excellent user experience the library provides. Moreover, getting started quickly for rich text needs is possible with TinyMCE because of its detailed and well-structured documentation, especially for libraries like ReactJS. This makes the initial setup extremely easy and efficient.

**What do you dislike about TinyMCE?**

While the core TinyMCE editor is open source, many advanced features require a paid version. In several cases, clients are unwilling to pay for these additional features. This pricing structure limits access to the complete functionality, impacting the ability to fully utilize TinyMCE's offerings. It would be more appealing if the essential plan were less expensive, making it more accessible to a broader range of users.

**What problems is TinyMCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use TinyMCE for rich text components like Blog Post pages. Its features, such as tables, formatting, and images, speed up development and satisfy client requests with clean and simple solutions.

**Official Response from Brad Lawless:**

> Thank you for sharing your feedback, Carlos!

It's always great to hear how TinyMCE’s out-of-the-box features, clean UX, and clear documentation have helped streamline your development work. We hear you on premium features requiring a paid plan, and we’re continually reviewing our packaging to ensure it meets the needs of a wide range of users.

We appreciate your perspective and your trust in TinyMCE.

  ### 7. Very helpful in web to add view like a MS Word.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saurav P. | TIER-3 Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2025

**What do you like best about TinyMCE?**

This product I use in a React.js application for admin so admin can set any type of font format so on user side we look the same as the admin set, when we set first so we set statically but now using this we add as dynamically so all the control is on admin side so they change than display at every platform.

**What do you dislike about TinyMCE?**

Add the tools according to the client's requirement, so some time this is bit of header to add custom tool.

**What problems is TinyMCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a developer, this solves my big problem when my client needs to change any text with their style, so using this, they can do it easily. I don't need to push and change my code on the server, so this is good because of the label change, we don't need to stop the server.

**Official Response from Brad Lawless:**

> Thanks for the review! I’m glad TinyMCE gives your admin team the flexibility to style content dynamically without redeploying code. And thank you for the thoughts on custom tools. Your feedback helps us keep improving.

  ### 8. Dependable and Time-Saving Editor with Seamless Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Girish S. | Software Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2025

**What do you like best about TinyMCE?**

TinyMCE has been really dependable in my projects. It integrates smoothly with Angular and .NET Core, and honestly saves me a lot of time.

**What do you dislike about TinyMCE?**

Overall TinyMCE works really well, but a few things could be better. like Some useful plugins are locked behind the paid version, and the initial setup can feel a bit overwhelming with so many configuration options. But once it’s set up, it runs smoothly.

**What problems is TinyMCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TinyMCE helps me handle all the rich-text and formatting needs in my projects without having to build anything from scratch. It lets users create clean, structured content easily, which saves me a lot of development time and reduces UI issues. Overall, it keeps my workflow smoother and my features more reliable.

**Official Response from Brad Lawless:**

> Hi Girish!

We really appreciate the feedback! Glad to hear that TinyMCE is working out so well as a core piece of your tech stack.

You might be interested to hear that next year we plan to introduce a simplified way to demo features and set them up initially. Hopefully this will help reduce some of that overwhelm the next time you setup an editor instance.

It’s encouraging to know that once everything’s configured, the editor does its job quietly and consistently.

Thanks for being a member of the TinyMCE community!

  ### 9. Best in the Market

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2025

**What do you like best about TinyMCE?**

I like TinyMCE because it is very smooth and reliable. The writing experience is clean and my users love how easy it is to format their blogs without touching any code.

**What do you dislike about TinyMCE?**

As major I don't dislike but some of the advanced features are locked behind the paid plan, which can be tough for small teams like us.

**What problems is TinyMCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For our team and users, TinyMCE editor makes it easy to let users write and format content without breaking anything. Before TinyMCE we had to deal with messy metal HTML from the users. We tried to build our own editor but it was very tough to build. So we optfor TinyMCE editor. Now, users can just write blogs smoothly with headings, images and everything looks clean on the front end.

**Official Response from Brad Lawless:**

> Thanks for the review! Happy to hear that TinyMCE is saving you time and frustration while giving your users a solid editing experience.

  ### 10. TinyMCE is an advanced editor that simplifies content creation across various platforms.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anirudh H. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about TinyMCE?**

TinyMCE offers an impressive range of features that make it stand out. It provides developers with a highly customizable rich text editor that can be easily integrated into different platforms, with over 50 plugins and 100+ customization options29. The editor is incredibly flexible, allowing developers to control specific aspects of HTML markup and create tailored editing experiences for different user groups1.

**What do you dislike about TinyMCE?**

I have noted that TinyMCE can generate less-than-ideal HTML code, and it may be becoming slightly outdated as technology advances

**What problems is TinyMCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TinyMCE significantly reduces development overhead by providing a plug-and-play rich text editor. It simplifies the implementation of advanced text editing features, saving time and resources that would otherwise be spent building a custom editor from scratch. It also improves the consistency of user-generated content across applications.

**Official Response from Brad Lawless:**

> Thank you for the kind words, Anirudh. We appreciate the feedback and would welcome any ideas you have for how we could improve both the developer and user experience. Please check out our public roadmap and submit any ideas you'd like us to consider.
