The older version let us create data sources in TimeXtender. In the new version we need to use a portal. It would be better if we could still do everything in TimeXtender itself Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The simple drag and drop interface is very intuitive and helps even seasoned SQL Developers build ETL models faster. Customer support is very prompt and and helpful. The extensive data source connection options mean no pre-transforming is needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not every filter or calculation is drag and drop, but there are multiple ways of entering code into the model so you can still do everything you can do with SQL. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Combining several similar data sources is very easy. People without programming skills can do basic ETL tasks on their own after a short learning period. The TX support reacts very quickly to questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Error messages are often just forwarded from the tools beneath and misleading. Multiselecting tables or columns is not possible so many tasks have to be done in a repeated way. Writing REST calls with a little bit of logic in the CDATA scripting language is very complicated and debugging the code is hardly possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Thank you for your thoughtful review of TimeXtender. We're glad to hear that our solution makes combining data sources easy and accessible, even for those without programming skills. Your feedback on the quick response from our support team is also greatly appreciated.
We acknowledge your concerns regarding the clarity of error messages, the limitations in multi-selecting tables or columns, and the challenges faced with REST calls and debugging in CDATA. Your input is invaluable in guiding our efforts to enhance user experience. We are continuously working to improve our interface and functionality to address these issues.
Thank you again for your review. We're committed to making TimeXtender even more user-friendly and efficient, and your feedback is crucial in this journey.
Easy to learn; Fast creation of data flows; friendly support Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
limited in functions and no compiler to check code; issues with data cleansing before data get into staging data base Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Using TimeXtender saves a lot of time, especially when it comes to implementing more advanced data management features such as incremental load and slowly changing dimensions. It also provides really valuable data lineage, version control and documentation. As a developer in TimeXtender, you can focus on the logic to implement and TimeXtender will take care of the rest. TimeXtender has some limitations when it comes to handling large data volumes, for instance when you would like to "keep field values up to date" in tables that hold many rows of data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
