"TimeXtender, the Swiss Knife to set up the Modern Dataware house."
4.5/5
What do you like best about timextender?

TimeXtender allowed me to quickly set up a delivery platform, without all the repetitive tasks of setting up pipelines in ADF or similar, and I know my code will keep it's value if my client decides to change storage provider or endpoint.

For a novice in SQL, all the drag and drop feature gives them the tools to set up the transformations, and for an "old" pro like me, it still allows to make use of all the power of SQL to accomplish a lot more.

What I loved most, is that thanks to the integrated lineage and documentation features, it's easy to pick up where somebody else left off. No spending hours to see where the root cause of a bug lies, be it code or data quality at the source. Or going through all the code to see what the impact of a change in the sources will have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about timextender?

Despite the completeness of TX, there's always room for improvement.

There are still some improvements to make on cloning tables, or editing multiple fields at once. In the Semantic models, the cloning facility is lacking entirely.

And Last but not least, in a multi-developper set up, it would be priority one to give a warning that a new version has been deployed, to other users so they may reload the project if needed (or better still: have that part reloaded )

Viewing how an object changes over several versions would be a help as well. This is missing now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good yet frustrating"
3.5/5
What do you like best about timextender?

Timextender is a great piece of kit to do allot of your datamanagement. it works great whilst working on bigger projects that need loads of data processing. The basics are relatively easy to pick up and it allows for a great visual management of all of your datasources and transformative steps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about timextender?

While my experience is currently mostly in the legacy version of TimeXtender it seems that there's some creature comforts that wouldn't seem too hard to implement that are simply missing. Being able to copy and or do mass changes within a semantic model for instance would save loads of time. You cannot select multiple measures, so if you are looking to delete 40 measures you are in for a bit of a sit. Same with changing the formatting on 6 measures at a time because you realise you don't want that many decimals on all of your cards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
