I can see my own clock in and clock out times as well as my direct report's hours. I can approve these for payroll. **What do you dislike about TimeClock Plus by TCP?** One drawback is that the software is expensive for a smaller company that is working on a limited budget but still must maintain some level of time tracking for its employees for payroll and tax purposes. **Recommendations to others considering TimeClock Plus by TCP:** If you can use all of the features that they offer, then it is a worthwhile investment for your company or team. **What problems is TimeClock Plus by TCP solving and how is that benefiting you?** TCP TimeClockPlus allows us to keep track of our employees hours and make sure they are taking lunch breaks and working at least 40 hours a week. The server software is easy to set up and maintain. Support is responsive, they will sometimes push you to purchase the software support even if it is likely a hardware issue, but they will work with you to diagnose the problem. **What do you dislike about TimeClock Plus by TCP?** The hardware can be quite fragile. The internal components come loose somewhat often and will need to be opened and reconnected. The server software has improperly updated and broken itself once in the past. **Recommendations to others considering TimeClock Plus by TCP:** Be prepared to purchase new hardware after 5-10 years. We are able to save time by having the employees clock in and out and having a manager review. The managers are not overwhelmed by having to review paperwork and by inputting data. **What do you dislike about TimeClock Plus by TCP?** It would be nice to have an app on the phone for each employee. The platform being cloud-based makes it easy to access anywhere as well as track employees when they are at several locations. We currently have about 180 employees. We have three shifts, and the 'Shift' trackability takes a lot of the guesswork out. The shifts automatically change without employees clocking out and back in if they continue to the next shift. It's a very user-friendly software all around. There are multiple ways to enter items; find the best way that works for your company. There are many applications available through this software that we don't even use but are there if we need them in the future. It's not a clock in and clock out system; it does so much more! Their customer support is always friendly and helpful! **What do you dislike about TimeClock Plus by TCP?** Holidays are not the most user friendly. Maybe because the rest of the software is so easy and streamlined, that the Holiday section is not my favorie to work with. They aren't as 'automatic' as I would like them to be. **What problems is TimeClock Plus by TCP solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed a time clock that could show shifts 1, 2, & 3 in a streamlined format. We had a clock-in & clock-out time clock that didn't break down shifts; we had to do manual calculations, which allowed for errors. TCP has saved a lot of time and guesswork on our part. Management has to keep a separate calendar to track outages. If staff could see other outages before requesting time-off, that could avoid back and forth between staff and management. **What problems is TimeClock Plus by TCP solving and how is that benefiting you?** TCP has solved our PTO accruals and tracking process, which was a previously manual process. As a user now of about 2 years, I love the chat support services and use it probably 1-2 times a week for different reasons. **What do you dislike about TimeClock Plus by TCP?** There are some limitations within the system as far as customizable settings for things such as closing weeks (which are an important function), but you cannot select which days to close based on payroll week or pay period- it must close on a standard calendar week. That can be frustrating sometimes. On occasion, I have found it difficult being in PST and TCP headquarters/support being in CST. **Recommendations to others considering TimeClock Plus by TCP:** I would highly recommend TCP to other organizations. This came at a perfect time during a transition phase in our organization. And although we receive push back from employees when they first start using it, after about 2 pay periods I get rave reviews from them saying how much they love it as an end user! The report capabilities are endless and I can't tell you enough how amazing, helpful and kind their staff are to work with! **What problems is TimeClock Plus by TCP solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have almost completely eliminated paper timesheets for exempt staff since there is an option to do this electronically for extra duty. We have also found that the ability to assign specific jobs/positions to supervisors is allowing multiple supervisors to access 1 employee timeclock and only approve the sections they are responsible for. Additionally, we have saved so much money in no longer having employees taking excess sick and vacation time since it is built into the system and no longer in paper form coming in after the fact. ### 21. If it doesn't work as-is out of the box, you will spend more customizing it than it is worth. The directions/guides are written as if you have been using the software for years. While they have an app that goes on your phone, if you don't have internet access it is useless. Why have an app if you can't utilize the phone's internal clock to function. If this were just for a factory floor setting it might work fine. Certainly not for a company that has employees spread around the world. Using this program will end up costing each of our approving managers at least an hour a week correcting mistakes because of the inadequacies of this program. **What problems is TimeClock Plus by TCP solving and how is that benefiting you?** The hope was to streamline timesheet approvals. As for the mobile device, our Support team should be able to help you with that. We are very proud of our mobile apps and they do come with offline capabilities, which should help your employees when they do not have internet access. All operations will be recorded and uploaded as soon as internet access is available. The goal of our solution is to streamline processes and boost your efficiency with managing a workforce. Also, can be hard getting people logged into the mobile app at first. Reaching out to a third party and having to relay solutions back to our clients makes our work less efficient. It is also hard to navigate the provided help center when trying to set up the timekeeping software for new clients. **What problems is TimeClock Plus by TCP solving and how is that benefiting you?** Time keeping, time and attendance, and job costing are all problems we are currently solving. TCP is web-based so no special maintenance on my end. TCP integrates smoothly with the financial software so that there is minimal manual entering for me to do. Supervisors can approve time from their desktop or laptop. Employees are allowed to clock in with their phones but the security features with TCP allow phone clock ins only on our school WiFi to keep employees honest. Those features can be set up according to what is best for your business. **What do you dislike about TimeClock Plus by TCP?** When an employee works more than one job, they must use the time clock when they move from one job to the other. When that happens Timeclock Plus clocks at the minute the person changes jobs instead of at the quarter hour. Our hourly employees are paid by the quarter hour, not by the minute so I have to do some editing on those people for their time to be correct. That is the only downside that I can think of. **What problems is TimeClock Plus by TCP solving and how is that benefiting you?** If a punch is missed, the employee can correct when they clock in/out the next time. The missed punch is noted to the supervisor and administrator. This is better than having to intervene every time someone misses a punch. Employees are able to view their time at the time clock, on their phone, laptop or desktop. This allows employees to know if they need to request leave and also how many hours they will be paid for. These options benefit employees and help them to feel empowered regarding their time. ### 38. Keeping track of my employees' attendance, hours, and time-off requests used to be time-consuming and, quite frankly, incomplete. With TCP it's all done for me and is presented clearly in one place. It has helped me to stay on top of my attendance issues and overtime, and calculating hours for payroll is much more efficient at the end of the week. I really like the way the data is displayed- at a glance I know exactly what's going on. The customer support staff is very responsive, patient, and helpful! **What do you dislike about TimeClock Plus by TCP?** Setup was pretty complicated, but of course the wonderful customer support agent took the time to ensure it met all our needs. Basic processes are very user-friendly, but when you have to modify anything - like jobs, schedules or employee profiles - the process isn't straightforward. I am pretty computer literate and I took lots of notes during setup, but I often have to reach out to customer support when I need to make any changes. **What problems is TimeClock Plus by TCP solving and how is that benefiting you?** As mentioned above, TCP has saved me hours in employee time clock management. Previously, I didn't have the time to track attendance issues contemporaneously. This meant I often missed, overlooked, or was inappropriately delayed in addressing attendance problems. Anytime I have a question or come across an issue that I think they can't do, all I do is call them and find out that they can! Previously, staff was not being compensated for hours worked beyond their contract time. I have had several employees thank me for finally being compensated for all their hard work. Prior, our employees were using a 25 yr old, primitive, handwritten punch clock system. They now access TCP primarily through their smart phones. It's quick and easy for them to clock in and out of various jobs throughout the day or week. We use TCP for both Payroll Reporting, Job Tracking, and management reporting. **What do you dislike about TimeClock Plus by TCP?** The only thing we found a bit challenging was the large # of initial configuration options. We're a small company with 15 or so employees, so we don't need/use all the functionality available in TCP. Fortunately, the TCP tech support crew were great in setting up our company's default configurations and departmental roles. Now it's just set&forget - that's what management likes. **Recommendations to others considering TimeClock Plus by TCP:** I would highly recommend TCP for small companies like us who do not have a dedicated payroll department. **What problems is TimeClock Plus by TCP solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before we had no convenient/timely job tracking system. Employees would track how many hours they worked on various hours using a photocopy template sheet. At the end of the week, an admin person would go around and collect the job sheets. She would then have to transcribe everything into an Excel spreadsheet. Management got to view the Excel report for that specific week. Now, with TCP, we are able to use 4 standard reports from TCP's built-in catalogue and have configured/customised another 5 for management-level reporting. Now, management can get job tracking reports in real-time vs waiting two weeks or quarterly for a report to get generated in the old way. TCP has also freed up about 50% of our Admin's time re payroll processing and job reporting ### 50.
