"Thunder Compute is not suitable for ComfyUI"
0.5/5
What do you like best about Thunder Compute?

The pricing is genuinely attractive, payment is quick and easy. That's where the positives end for me.. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thunder Compute?

The default Prototyping mode is not usable for ComfyUI image generation. It can't handle models that offload to RAM, so generations that take ~30 seconds on other A100 providers took 2+ minutes here, or crashed with random out-of-memory errors. Standard ComfyUI settings don't fix it. None of this is mentioned upfront — I wasted credits and a lot of time before realizing the platform itself was the problem. You're pushed toward the more expensive Production mode without being told. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless GPU Access for On-the-Go Experiments"
5/5
What do you like best about Thunder Compute?

I find Thunder Compute's setup very easy; it's really a plug-and-play experience for me. I appreciate how I can select my requirements through their console application and have the VM up and running in just a few minutes. I love using Thunder Compute to access GPUs and Linux VMs on the go, which is amazing for trying out new models from places like Hugging Face or GitHub. Additionally, I like that the development team listens to feedback, which shows they care about user experience. The extension for VS Code is also something I use, which adds to the convenience. What do you dislike about Thunder Compute?

Occasionally there are sudden interrupts which may cause a bit of trouble in the VM connection and my own machine, but it happens like 1 in 100 times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Affordable Compute Power with Seamless Integration"
5/5
What do you like best about Thunder Compute?

I use Thunder Compute for training and fine-tuning AI models. It's great for training complex neural models and iterating quickly due to its cost-effectiveness. I like their CLI tool and VSCode integration, and the immediate SSH connection without hassle is top-tier. Thunder Compute is affordable, accessible, and the compute units don't expire, offering near equal pricing to other solutions. The initial setup was easier than expected; just install an extension in VSCode, sign in, and you're done. I would even rate my likelihood of recommending it a 10 because I already can't stop recommending it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thunder Compute?

It's not like it doesn't work well, but their snapshots are a little slow sometimes. Mostly during backup and restore times. Again, it's not that big of an issue since it's not billed time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Affordable, User-Friendly GPU Compute with Excellent Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Thunder Compute?

I really like Thunder Compute's competitive prices, especially for GPUs. It's kind of crazy how much cheaper they are compared to, like, PrimeIntellect. The customer support is really good, I think. Their CLI is very nice to use, making it super easy to get started and to spin up a box in just a few seconds. I also find the templates they provide very helpful. The setup was extremely easy, with the CLI download process being very straightforward. Plus, they match your initial input of credits, which was nice. Overall, it's very easy to use, especially with their snapshot system that allows you to stop an instance if needed. I'm quite happy with my experience and would definitely recommend it as a great place for GPU compute. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thunder Compute?

I wish I could create my own custom templates. Right now, they only provide templates for certain interfaces, but I understand they have this idea in the works. Also, I feel like the snapshot storage could be a bit cheaper. It's priced okay, but a slightly lower cost would be nicer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Super Affordable Pricing with Meaningful Student Signup Credit"
5/5
What do you like best about Thunder Compute?

I really like how the pricing is super affordable, and I appreciate that they give students free $20 on signup. As both a founder and a student, that support genuinely means a lot to me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thunder Compute?

The UI still needs some work. A few things still feel broken, but overall it’s fine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It’s seamless to use, and SSH isn’t handicapped. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thunder Compute?

Didnt see SXM2 H100s in the offerings. Would have liked that for a little more speed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
