**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2025

**What do you like best about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

Love the fact that they maintain a small-company approach with the owner being front and center, along with an amazing support team that doesn't run and hide from you but pushes to help you at any time of the day or night -- which is unheard of in this business. This is a rock-solid product that is worth the effort to learn and implement.

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

Sometimes it feels the company tries to add too many things and be more than it should be, however, this doesn't get in the way of the core product and add-ons are offered as a "take it or leave it" approach (so you're not forced into anything you don't want/need). I guess I'd rather see them trying to do more than to do less, so this isn't really a bad thing.

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ThreatLocker is like the bouncer at the door of a night club. If the bouncer doesn't let you in (because you're not on the list), game over. Unlike antivirus where that acts more of an internal security guard that's looking for problems after the bad guy already got inside. Locking down an end-user's environment (and/or severely limiting the already-approved applications) takes 99% of the worry of the user making accidental or intention mistakes and infecting the endpoint -- or worse.

  ### 13. Secure & Streamlined Endpoint Management

**Reviewed by:** Christian U. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2026

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

No

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2026

**What do you like best about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

It has protected us when doing penetration testing on our network. Once it is set to default deny, it really does stop everything that is not allowlisted. Their support is fantastic, even when I have had little/dumb questions, hey are professional and helpful and respond very quickly.

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

I've not yet found something that I dislike about it. Their certification test is difficult, but not impossible, and they implicitly try to help you pass it with training modules and even tutoring if need be.

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitoring and controlling application and other traffic on our devices.

**Official Response from Ben Goodman:**

> Thank you for the detailed review. **What do you like best about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

does a really good job at blocking applications from installing applications that have not been whitelisted.

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

it can be really difficult to configure an application to be allowed and we have had to engage their support alot to get them to work right

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2026

**What do you like best about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

Great tool for securing endpoints. The block everything approach is the only way to be sure but with the policies the impact on users is minimal..

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

Initial setup can be time consuming and challenging. Setting up policies that ensure work is not impacted is challenging but once setup is not too bad.

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 42. Threatlocker makes application whitelisting easy-ish

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2025

**What do you like best about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

Application whitelisting is very time consuming. And while it still takes time to do it properly with Threatlock, the time and knowledge investment is much much less than is required with other products. I would never say that application whitelisting is easy - but Threatlocker makes it much easier than it would be otherwise - therefore, "easy-ish".

Implementing it and scheduling time with an engineer to review before putting it in secure mode has been hugely helpful.

Threatlocker is a great product with a great team behind it. Danny, ya'll have built a great product and our team (and our clients) appreciate it.

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

Onboarding new employees. Even though the learning curve is much reduced, there is still plenty to know before throwing an employee into the deep end. Threatlocker engineers are happy to schedule time, but it does have to be a checkbox for the employee onboarding so it gets done.

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Threatlocker blocks those hard to block issues that can get through other defenses.

  ### 45. Strong Zero-Trust Allowlisting for Tight Control

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2026

**What do you like best about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

Allowlisting and a zero-trust model seem like a strong approach for controlling what’s allowed to run within an environment.

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

From what I’ve seen so far, it appears to be strongly geared toward smaller businesses or MSPs.

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It focuses on preventing unauthorized applications and scripts from running, which helps reduce the attack surface and strengthens endpoint control.

  ### 46. Easy Application Allowlisting and Strong Endpoint Control

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2026

**What do you like best about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

Threatlocker makes it easy to only allow approved applications to run on endpoints. NC makes it east to control network access.

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

Sometimes NC doesn't allow traffic it should even when policies are properly defined and deployed.

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It prevents users from accidentally installing malware. It helps by preventing users from accidentally installing malware.

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

I love the tool, there is no aspect that I don't like.

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Control over unwanted applications has improved significantly; these apps no longer run in my environment.

  ### 49. Simple, Effective Policy Enforcement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2026

**What do you like best about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

Simplicity of enforcing protection policies

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

Zero trust security is unique in that the platform works. The most difficult part is training users to understand that no, you can't do these things anymore.

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

USB lockdown, preventing bad actors from having easy physical access to our systems.

  ### 50. ThreatLocker keeps computer secure

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew B. | Director of IT, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2025

**What do you like best about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

* ThreatLocker treats each app as a system and can isolate them - for example Edge acts like malware when it reads Chrome's data. TL can stop that. TL can flat out stop all executing software from accessing a QuickBooks data file except QuickBooks.
* ThreatLocker allows businesses to ensure that computers just can't run programs they're not allowed to run whether that software be a game, a portable exe, or never before seen malware. Not on the allow list means does not run.
* ThreatLocker Network control allows an me to block all incoming access to a server UNLESS the client is running our ThreatLocker.
* ThreatLocker blocks Winword.exe from running PowerShell, blocks Chrome extensions from executing CMD and blocks PowerShell from reaching out to the Internet.
* With the full support of the Cyber Heros, at any time of day or night my users can be denied permission to run an application, press a button to request that they be granted access and have that request granted! For the record, the Cyber Heros will approve a legitimate installer from Epson for a printer but will deny game installers and malware. ThreatLocker is making security EASIER for me and the users who are secured.
* ThreatLocker is powerful and covers so many holes in Windows security. Onboarding is made easy through weekly meetings with a dedicated SE who will guide you through implementing one module at a time. We're eight months in and still meet semi-weekly to work on new modules.
* Initial integration is painless for the admins and users. Install the client on all your end points and let it observe and report in. Allow rules are made on a computer-by-computer basis to ensure that when you take the computer out of monitor mode it won't cause trouble for the user. Policies created on a single machine can easily be promoted to apply to an entire group of computers. This learning mode is designed to be transparent for the end users but does require a good amount of attention from the administrator who has 100% control of the process - it is not magic.
* I could go on and on.

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

I have found no downsides to using ThreatLocker but can say that their system is comprand complicated, I am very happy that we have the Cyber Heros available to help when necessary through the Cyber Hero MDR.

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Short version: ThreatLocker fills security gaps in Windows left by Microsoft and allows visibility into what is happening on EVERY computer I'm responsible for.
