Not good for small business" 0/5 What do you like best about Thinkific? This platform provided a power to provide classes that were clean, sleek, and well received. I used it with two different groups, and one we used some of the highest level of usage from 2018 through 2021. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Thinkific? We literally could not afford the price tag that was associated with the cost of maintaining courses. Additionally they changed policies that were detrimental to us. I have also leaned that they limit bandwidth so this is an absolute no go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Thinkific solving and how is that benefiting you? We needed a way to provide quality content in a way that was attractive and thinkific did this in a way better than anyone else could. We created courses easily that allowed us to implement both in-person and asynchronous courses. We also created a library of courses using audio from lectures given in person. I really regret moving my school over ehre Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Thinkific? I'm a power user who made $2.5M selling courses with Teachable. Recently Teachable switched to a very expensive pricing scheme, so I moved my school to Thinkific. I paid for the Grow plan for the entire year in order to be able to use their email marketing feature. Today I found out that they suspended my email sending privileges due to not having unsubscribe link in my email. WHICH THEY SAID WAS TECHNICALLY IMPOSSIBLE WHEN I REACHED OUT AND ASKED HOW I CAN ADD UNSUBSCRIBE LINKS TO MY MESSAGES!!! Planning to sue them in small claims court but they're in Canada, so not sure if it's a good idea to work with them unless you reside in Canada. Regret moving my school to Thinkific. Stay away! Only use if you never (and I mean never) want to close account I have been trying to close our thinkific account for a year, it is impossible! It will let you downgrade to a free account but there you are stuck! You might think, that’s ok, they’re now charging you. Well, the problem is that every time you disable a course another one is reactivated. I have just had to refund a load of learners who have managed to sign up and pay for courses that we no longer run.. Not good for business!!!! The software is relatively easy to use. It is fairly restricted in site development, but that is no different from similar competitive offerings. More pricing options are provided vis-a-vis competing offerings but only available with higher (and more expensive) plans Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Thinkific? Most options are available with higher-priced plans. The biggest negative with the platform is that it offers ZERO SECURITY. A paid subscriber can access the content URL using a simple "View HTML" that can then be shared with anyone. Absolutely anyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Thinkific: With no security, the platform is a NO GO for all except those who are okay with their content being pirated. Discussions with support were more worrying. Instead of suggesting a way to fix through product development, the suggestions ranged from "most of our subscribers do not have a piracy mindset", "use script to disable right-click" (which isn't a solution since the user can easily view the page source), and such useless options. They admitted that this was an issue, but neither had a timeframe to resolve nor a direction/commitment to sort this immediately. Despite notifying the company that their documentation states the exact opposite and is intended to mislead customers, the support team agreed to our assertion, but the documentation (https://support.thinkific.com/hc/en-us/articles/360030721673) remains unchanged as of date. Unfortunately, we discovered the security issue after four months of site development. It probably would be wise to check if this is an issue with other competing online course platforms as well Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
