It supports creating custom widgets as per your need. Adding different functionalities are just a click of button away. You can get real time insights for all your connected devices, it is also easier to create digital twin for monitoring your devices. You have access to multiple SDK which can boost productivity while developing apps. In comparison it is easier to create visualization of data. I can list feature after feature and benefits but it also depends on the use case which you want to implement and a plethora of options for your problem. It's easy to get access to your data instantly and you can create and present them in stunning dashboards. You can also create complex and difficult UI by using Thingworx and rest APIs. "PTC Thingworx is a great platform for Industrial automation, especially for real-time dashboards." 4.5/5 What do you like best about ThingWorx Industrial IOT Platform? The best thing about this platform is the concept of Thing Shapes, Thing Templates and Things. Its so easy to get real-time data and present them in real-time dashboards. Another thing is less coded, more productivity. We have to write less code and mainly need to perform drag and drop design. Inheritance across entities is a great feature. When visualizing the data, I find state formatting so useful. And of course, data stream, handling and security is a big plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about ThingWorx Industrial IOT Platform? Even though PTC Thingworx is one of the best IoT platform in the market right now, still its not perfect. I feel the way we design dashboards, it could be better and more enhanced. More widgets need to be added for sure. Design features need to be improved so that we can create spectacular dashboards. One of the biggest problem in industries is to have a glance about the whole industry in one single report. This platform can remove that gap. The dashboards using real-time data gives the overall status what's happening in the plants. Getting alerts whenever an equipment is down, or something goes wrong, so that operator can fix the problem as soon as possible. The platform is quite comprehensive and offers many different options for getting up to speed and putting a POC IOT offering out. The support group is good about answering questions and trying to help keep a project or implementation moving forward. This is an early mover platform and as a lot of history behind it and ability to connect and leverage it in many different ways. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about ThingWorx Industrial IOT Platform? Our main issue with the platform had to do with trying to use it outside of what ThingWorx envisioned. In our case we were working with several different partners on a solution, and we would find we could deliver about 90% of the use case, but then we would be boxed in and find ourselves needing to reach out to support. In some cases we needed to create some painful workarounds, or write code that we would never have written otherwise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering ThingWorx Industrial IOT Platform: ThingWorx can be a great platform to use if your use cases fall within the range of scope that ThingWorx considered. Things get a little more dicey when you want to perform your own customization and have a certain way of providing solutions. This isn't unique to ThingWorx, it just so happened that the it was more difficult to implement what our customer wanted to do around ThingWorx. We were attempting to use ThingWorx to provide an IoT offering facilities security and management. It was a combination of security hardware from one partner, networking from another, and customer software built around ThingWorx. ThingWorx was great in terms of getting moving quickly and having many building blocks with which to get started.
