Thanks to the packages provided by THALES, the Sentinel software is easy to integrate and deploy on end-user platforms. Embedded EMS is a nice tool to generate and manage keys. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Thales' Sentinel LDK platform provides a very useful way to track and manage software licenses for end users. It is sufficient customizable to allow the licensing platform to match to your needs and processes. It also provides a good way to keep track of customers/users and information about their version, features, etc. that helps you know how your software is being deployed and used. Thales also provides options to host the license server either on premises or through Thales. The latter option has been useful to us so that we don't have to manage the license server on our end. Thales also has responsive and effective customer support via its support portal. The support portal provides a good way to keep track of all support-related issues and to get answers to issues that arise quickly. Thales' Sentinel LDK platform also makes it easy to support customers who have little or no internet access for activation. There are offline options provided using file transfer also USB-hosted options that are easy to understand that allow cases to be integrated where internet access at a customer site is not possible. When integrating the Sentinel LDK into your software platform, the API can be somewhat tricky to understand with all of the distinctions between different types of things. However, Thales was helpful in answering questions and having example files available. Since Thales has to deeply integrate with a computer's operating system, sometimes this can cause issues with operating system updates that could negatively affect the use of some features, but in recent years this has been rare and is to be expected from a product focused on security. The only part about software licensing that is difficult specifically with the Sentinel LDK product is that the concept of "deactivating" a license does not exist and thus relinquishing a license can be a trickier process to carry out. Thales implemented a few security updates over the past several years that inadvertently disrupted communication between our earlier software versions and the activation server, causing temporary setbacks. While these challenges required adjustments on our end, Thales has since demonstrated their commitment to customer success by actively addressing concerns, improving transparency, and refining their approach.
