It is straightforward to use, and it has more features as compared to a notepad. We can do coding in TextPad very quickly, and it's an excellent tool for quick edits. One time I was using the large file in TextPad, and it hung, and when I tried to reopen that file, it was exactly, so I thought that TextPad didn't support the large file, and when I set the font size in and opened that font box it hangs in that so this is a terrible thing I am experiencing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've used Textpad for literally everything. From writing code in various languages, writing my own syntax highlighter, taking meeting notes, making todo lists, etc. Textpad handles it all extremely well. Textpad is a "no frills" editor that can do more than a simple notepad application. I mainly use it to view HTML, Javascript, and JSON files, but the real power comes in its macro support. You can quickly write automated scripts to manipulate your files and save them for later. Also, Textpad has block select, which is great when parsing output from automated scripts. It's hard to come up with any downsides with Textpad. As mentioned, this is a fantastic text editor for general editing. If you write a lot of HTML/XML, or do data parsing, then Textpad does lack some features that are more common for these scenarios.
