They took away a key learning assistive device: Text to speech. They have gone downhill this time around. It was my favorite learning platform and better than Cengage. But I might have to take that compliment away. **What do you dislike about TestOut?** They removed their Text to speech feature that aided as a learning assist. While they offer alternatives JAWS requires a purchase unless you have a student email. It and microsoft narrator will read everything on the screen with no ability to pause or read the bulk of the lesson. NVDA is a little nicer but you have to hover over the sentence you want read out loud, but it does not continue its task once it reaches the end of the text limit, not even end of the sentence if it goes to the next row. On top of that NVDA require you, the visually impaired, to put the mouse over the next row where the sentence starts. TestOut text to speech feature made it easier to follow along, stay focused and was an asset for hour long commutes that do not require a laptop or PC in the car. It has also reduced its quality and user friendly approach for people that want to use their mobile phone to read the lessons. I understand if labs and exams cannot be done on a mobile phone, but reading lessons, quizzes, and videos should still be accessible to people on the go. Student and others do not have the luxury or the finances to carry a laptop around. Nor spend hours sitting in front of a PC.
