"Awesome (Free) way to send beta builds to testers! "
4.5/5
What do you like best about TestFlight?

I have been using TestFlight for many years, and now that it has been acquired by Apple, it is tightly integrated in the development and release flow of iOS apps. I like that it is officially owned and developed by Apple themselves. Having TestFight in the same portal that every developer is used to working with (iTunes Connect) is a great addition! What do you dislike about TestFlight?

There is now some verification required to be made by Apple before releasing beta builds. This might be a blocker for some that might want to look at using Fabric to send out their builds. When TestFlight was their own company, there was no review process, so builds could be sent literally in a matter of seconds (after the set up is complete). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Manage Beta Testing with Test Flight"
4/5
What do you like best about TestFlight?

The biggest advantage of using Test Flight is that is solves the problem most developers were complaining about, which is UUID (unique device identifiers). With Test Flight, you don't need to deal with UUID or provisioning profiles. Just use their email address and boom! Done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestFlight?

The biggest disadvantage is that its not cross-platform. You'll need to find a different tool if you need to test any platform outside of iOS. Also, only iOS 8 and later are supported. Another thing that I find limiting is that builds are only good for 30 days, after which you must issue a "fix" or an update, eventhough it may not be much of a "fix" to your app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Beta testing before release"
4.5/5
What do you like best about TestFlight?

I love that this app allows you to beta test software before it is released to a wider audience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestFlight?

Due to the software being in a beta format, there are often glitches that occur and it is difficult to decipher whether those are from the app or the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to view and use apps as a tester"
4.5/5
What do you like best about TestFlight?

When you're user-testing an app on an iOS device, it is extremely easy to use TestFlight to download, install, and work on the app in each new version. It works seamlessly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestFlight?

There is no built-in feedback form to submit feedback to developers. Any kind of feedback from a beta-tester prospective must be done externally. If there was a way to contact developers from within the TestFlight system while beta testing, it would make things go much more smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Testing in masses"
4/5
What do you like best about TestFlight?

With TestFlight our company delivers their digital products to the in-house team as well as to future customers or business partners. Especially the external-testing feature is a big help here. Simply add a persons email address into a list and he/she can already start evaluating our app. Before TestFlight this way of evaluating sometimes was more a bad experience on both parties than a good one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestFlight?

Managing multiple versions of your apps for both internal and external testers is sometimes not convenient. One improvement here would be to provide the test configuration (e.g. what to test) while uploading the new version to Apple. There is an open source solution (fastlane, pilot) out there that provides additional features when uploading new versions but it is not that easy to use and requires to be always up-to-date. "A great product that pivoted when acquired by Apple "
3.5/5
What do you like best about TestFlight?

With Test Flight you are able to involve third parties in Beta testing without the complexity of collecting peoples device UUIDs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestFlight?

For testing to happen outside of people with iTunes connect access you must have the app reviewed by Apple making it hard to share work in progress with clients or other externals who will not be hosting the application under their own team.

Since Test Flight has been acquired by Apple however Android testing has been removed causing fragmentation in the tooling that we use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Fairly wide user base right now so the sample pool is rather large right now. Also like the fact that it has crash reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Would be nice to see test flight expanded even more which will hopefully happen in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Test Flight - Beta / Bug Testing Made Easy"
5/5
What do you like best about TestFlight?

Apple purchased Test Flight as a way to provide app developers a way to get real world testing of their apps before launching them into the wild. I love that Apple has integrated Test Flight into itunes connect which allows us to simply invite members of our internal team and those that have signed up to be beta testers directly from the dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestFlight?

I don't like the internal 25 tester limit. I assume Apple does this so that developers don't abuse the internal option (as those testers get to test an app that doesn't have to be reviewed by the app store staff). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
