You can easily send updated of the App to users and it will automatically install them on the device. Testers can also send feedback through the app easily. You can also set a time limit on the pre-released app so when it comes time to release the production version user can switch over to that. **What do you dislike about TestFlight?** The removal of Android was a bit annoying when Apple bought them. This means that for our Android Apps we are having to use another product and can no longer keep them together. **Recommendations to others considering TestFlight:** Move to hockey app if you want Android support. But Apple have made it free. **What problems is TestFlight solving and how is that benefiting you?** Providing pre-released builds for clients and testers. Test flight just need the email id of the testers for sharing the application build to them, 3 ) When an application build is shared to a tester, he/she would be receiving an email notification for the same. 4 ) We can distribute the build to a maximum of 1000 users at a time. 5 ) The installation of test flight application in a device is also very easy. 6 ) The testers can send their feedbacks back to the developers. 7 ) Test Flight also provides a crash log to the developers. **What do you dislike about TestFlight?** Before it was taken over by Apple, we were able to use it for both android and iOS application. And after Apple takes the ownership of Test flight, they limited test flight only for the iOS applications. **Recommendations to others considering TestFlight:** And now, the test flight comes with the heavy brand name label "Apple". So expect the same level of quality as in iOS devices. **What problems is TestFlight solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use test flight for sharing the build between the team mates as well as the customers. The end to end users as well as the team mates test the build shared through test flight and figure out the issues before submitting the build to the app store. This helps us in preventing the issues being faced by the end to end users of the application. ### 7. Whenever an update was available, TestFlight would send you an e-mail alerting you so you could have the most up to date experience with the app you were developing. Because of the nature of the software, it just supported the app you were using and you didn't have to use it as a portal. **What do you dislike about TestFlight?** Was a difficult process of getting connected with our app and test flight. It's a free quick install from their website or the App Store. Even there are in-app purchases, they are free to me as a tester. TestFligt can be installed on multiple iOS devices to perform unlimited simultaneous tests from any developer. When providing feedback, valuable information about my device and the app is auto-populated for me to save me some time and allow me to focus solely on my feedback. **What do you dislike about TestFlight?** It can't be used on devices that are not running iOS. It's not available to Android devices either. **Recommendations to others considering TestFlight:** TestFlight is the simplest way to test beta applications on iOS devices. It can be used to simultaneously test on up to 10 devices and doesn't require a lot from you as a tester. You don't need to deal with UDIDs or provisioning profiles at all so it streamlines the process. Also, if you currently have the app installed, the beta version will automatically replace the version on your device and you can begin testing. **What problems is TestFlight solving and how is that benefiting you?** TestFlight helps developers to fine tune their applications and notice issues that they may have been blind to as the creator or ones they simply didn't think of. TestFlight also helps users to have a better user experience with these applications once released because they have been tested extensively to avoid common issues. ### 9. With Test Flight, you don't need to deal with UUID or provisioning profiles. Just use their email address and boom! Done. **What do you dislike about TestFlight?** The biggest disadvantage is that its not cross-platform. You'll need to find a different tool if you need to test any platform outside of iOS. Also, only iOS 8 and later are supported. Another thing that I find limiting is that builds are only good for 30 days, after which you must issue a "fix" or an update, eventhough it may not be much of a "fix" to your app. **Recommendations to others considering TestFlight:** It supports only 3 builds per day and builds are good for 30 days. If that works for you, then this is an excellent tool! **What problems is TestFlight solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed a good and competent crash reporting service and we are happy to find Test Flight handle that really well. Users needs to opt-in though. ### 10. Especially the external-testing feature is a big help here. Simply add a persons email address into a list and he/she can already start evaluating our app. Before TestFlight this way of evaluating sometimes was more a bad experience on both parties than a good one. **What do you dislike about TestFlight?** Managing multiple versions of your apps for both internal and external testers is sometimes not convenient. One improvement here would be to provide the test configuration (e.g. what to test) while uploading the new version to Apple. There is an open source solution (fastlane, pilot) out there that provides additional features when uploading new versions but it is not that easy to use and requires to be always up-to-date. **Recommendations to others considering TestFlight:** If you are developing apps for the AppStore market then I suggest to take a look into TestFlight. The earlier you start the earlier your product gets evaluated and tested. Currently, you can add up to 1000 testers for each app. In most case szenarios this should be way more than enough. **What problems is TestFlight solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have mobile apps which are both in development and production state. To reach our in-house testers and external business partners we provide test versions on a regular basis. With the introduction of TestFlight this is way more easier to accomplish than any solution before. ### 11. Would be nice to see a version that allows for Enterprise iOS deployments. An additional feature that would be useful would be the ability to add Apple users as beta testers. Test Flight works with apple's other developer products like xcode, so although it isn't perfectly straightforward to get it up and running, there is a lot of support and documentation and it is the intended product to use for beta testing. **What do you dislike about TestFlight?** This is more of a complaint for the way adding beta test users is.
