The big benefit is that it allows for more than just 'standard Python', by importing packages frequently used by Data Scientists (Pandas, Numpy, Sklearn, SciPy). Furthermore, it allows for standard and customized questions, making the test even more relevant for the applicants and us. It's flexibile user management is also a big plus in sharing responsibilities across the organization (budget responsible, test-developer, recruiter, interviewer, etc.). **What do you dislike about TestDome?** Making SQL tests is more complicated than making Python tests, but the standard (Premium) tests already cover a lot. PySpark is not yet supported. Paying with a credit card is much easier than getting the proper invoice. **What problems is TestDome solving and how is that benefiting you?** We get many applicants for Data Analyst, Data Scientist and Data Engineering positions. By including a live coding test in an early stage, we simultaneously give candidates a good view of the type of work they will be doing, as well as understanding what the skill level is of the applicants. It has got better recently, but it's still quite limited in certain subject areas. I'm not entirely convinced by the grading of a question either. It's easy to create tests and we often combine several topics e.g. for a PHP backend engineer some PHP OOP questions mixed with SQL and shell script stuff. Or for a more project or people manager role a set of questions around organization, time management, prioritization, etc. - so there's a lot. In-person whiteboard sessions are antiquated and unfair to candidates who don't perform well with an audience watching. It's great to have a solution that we can customize and give to our candidates in an environment similar to how they'd work at their job. The selection of questions/prompts is broad and we appreciated creating our own custom assessment with the question library. The best part was the results. We had a couple of people exaggerate their experience on their resumes and in their interviews and this platform allowed us to truly understand their qualifications and capabilities.
