What do you like best about Tenable Nessus?

What I most like about nessus is customization when using scans. We can add credentials, set IP ranges and ports and etc. We can use different scan methods for different purposes. Also it gives best scanning results and those scanning results can be exported as HTML, PDF or CSV reports. Also the report can be customize when exporting. When nessus gives me a report it also providing the introduction of vulnerabilites, impact of the vulnerability to the host and mitigation methods and reference to find more about the vulnerabilites. What do you dislike about Tenable Nessus?

What I dont like this Nessus proffesional version is some time it gives false positives. As an example when nessus gives me a scan results of an web application vulnerability scan usually I seach for those vulnearabilities for testing purposes. That required time. If you are in Cyber security side. This is a best vulnerabilty scanner that worth your every penny. I've used it. It gives the best scanning resutls so we can follow those results to test vulnerabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tenable Nessus solving and how is that benefiting you?

When I pentesting first tool I use is Nessus. I use different scanning methods for different purposes. As an example I mostly use network scans, web application scans, policy compliance audting scans, and advanced dynamic scans. Nessus professional is easy to use. Just add your ip list or add a subnet. Nessus is a number one vulnerability scanner with vast CVE numbers. One other scanner can compete for Nessus in terms of CVE database Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Tenable Nessus?

Nessus is one of the best tool for vulnerability assessment. It is a remote security scanning tool which has the capacity to scan the computer systems and find out the vulnerabilities in the system. The detected vulnerabilities can be alerted and reported to the concerned teams. We use Nessus for VA (Vulnerability Assessment) and PT (Penetrative Testing). What do you dislike about Tenable Nessus?

Nessus is an excellent tool and has no dislikes as such. However it is not a complete security solution because it does not actively prevent attacks, it is a tool that checks your computer to find out the vulnerabilities/loop holes that the malicious hackers/attackers could exploit and get into your system. It is the responsibility of the administrator to patch these vulnerabilities so as to make the system secure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tenable Nessus solving and how is that benefiting you?

Nessus can discover the vulnerabilities in the system which the attackers can use to gain access to the computers connected over the network. The reports generated by Nessus are very good with detailed analysis of the vulnerability, severity of the issue, ports on which it has been detected and the possible recommendations to close the same.

We use Nessus scanner to scan the computers so as to know whether the products/applications installed on the system requires to be patched with latest updates/upgrades. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Tenable Nessus?

Nessus provides a wide range of configuration which helps to find vulnerabilities faster and in an efficient way. The preconfigured testing modules helps to choose between different types of attack vectors. This tool is regularly updated for new CVE's and features. What do you dislike about Tenable Nessus?

Sometimes when you scan a large scope it gets slow a little. Sometimes I face some issue when I scan for IP but it is fixed now in the newer version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Tenable Nessus:

If you want a tool that can scan and work in most of the domains of cybersecurity such as IoT and regular scanning then go with Nessus. Whoever works in cybersecurity you guys show to use these tools also who are new to cybersec or infosec even bug bounty guys can start using this tool. Recently I found a vulnerability using nessus I just put a domain on scan and boom I found sensitive data which I reported to the domain admin and he thanks me this was all possible because of nessus. I solve a problem like fast scanning and reliable tools problem. This tool helps me to work faster and quicker. Nessus helps you to build and improve your skills.
