Tempus helps track employee time and enhance productivity **Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Richard C. | Business Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2021 **What do you like best about Tempus Resource?** I like seeing how much time my team spends on tasks and projects. I like being able to control what's available to allocate time against and to add, modify, and remove items as needed. I like that it enables me to have an informed discussion on my employees' time and committments. I can then take the time they're reporting and do more investigation if needed to determine if they're accurately reporting their time. **What do you dislike about Tempus Resource?** Tempus is only as good as the data that's entered. I have employees that are entering time against tasks and projects that don't make sense. For example, I have one employee logging tons of time against a project, but nothing ever gets done, and she's always behind. So it's a good tool in that sense - I get to see how much time they think they're putting against each task, but the reality might be different. It opens the door for a conversation. It's easy to pad your stats. **Recommendations to others considering Tempus Resource:** Please understand that you're essentially getting an online spreadsheet to enter information and track your employees' time. It's not bad, but it's not unique. And please understand that this is just another tool to check up on your employees' productivity. It's only as good as the information entered, and then what you do with it. Some managers like to check internet history and badge swipes too, or time on a device. You could do the same thing on a shared spreadsheet. **What problems is Tempus Resource solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm trying to figure out which employees are overworked and which have more time. Most of my team is very busy, but I have some that I think are padding their timesheets. Like most companies, we have way too much work and not enough people to help. I tend to give more work to my best producers, which are already overburdened.
