Temporal.ist is automatic time tracking for people who bill by the hour. Instead of remembering to start a timer, Temporal.ist detects when you save a file on your desktop or visit a tracked URL in your browser, and builds an accurate timesheet for you in the background. How it works: - A lightweight desktop client (macOS, Windows, Linux, plus a headless CLI for servers) watches file changes in the folders you choose and automatically starts and stops sessions. - Browser extensions (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) do the same for URL-based work — client portals, web apps, admin dashboards. - Everything syncs in real time to a web dashboard with calendar views, project breakdowns, and live "who's working on what" visibility for teams. Built for billing, not surveillance. Temporal.ist deliberately does not take screenshots, log keystrokes, score "activity levels," or build black-box session data. It tracks what you worked on, not how hard you worked. From tracked time to paid invoice. Sessions roll up into auto-numbered invoices with per-client billable rates, multi-currency support, line items generated straight from your logged time, and PDF export or shareable public invoice links — so tracking time and getting paid for it live in the same tool. Who it's for: freelance developers and designers, consultants, agencies (design, dev, marketing), freelance writers, lawyers, and remote teams who need defensible, accurate billable hours without babysitting a timer. Temporal.ist is in early access and currently free to use. Key features: - Automatic time tracking via desktop file-change detection (no manual timer) - Automatic browser URL tracking with pattern-based auto start/stop - Real-time web dashboard (WebSocket live session view) - Calendar view (day/week/month) and weekly/daily time charts - Projects → Teams → Organisations structure for agencies and multi-client work - Per-client, per-project billable rates - Auto-numbered invoicing generated directly from tracked sessions - Multi-currency invoicing, PDF export, public shareable invoice links - CSV/JSON/PDF data export and reporting - Cross-platform desktop client: macOS, Windows, Linux + headless Linux CLI/systemd service for servers - Browser extensions: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari - OAuth2 login (Google, GitHub, LinkedIn, Microsoft)
