Tempo is a Jira-native software company serving 30,000+ customers worldwide, with a product portfolio spanning strategic portfolio management, time tracking, capacity planning, and financial reporting for teams that run their work through Atlassian. Workforce Intelligence (WFI) is Tempo's newest product: the first Atlassian Marketplace app that connects AI tool activity directly to Jira work items, epics, and initiatives. Most engineering organizations have adopted AI coding tools, but few can say with confidence what that spend actually delivered. WFI provides that visibility by connecting to GitHub, Claude, and ChatGPT, matching AI activity to development work and attributing spend to the specific Jira epics and issues it supported – down to the individual issue – along with team or department summaries. Unlike solutions that attribute cost to delivered code, WFI ties AI vendor spend directly to teams, epics, and issues, giving CTOs, CFOs, and VPs of Engineering a real, verified picture of AI ROI instead of guesswork. Spend that can't be matched to a work item is shown as unattributed rather than force-fit, keeping the data honest about what's traceable. Connecting takes minutes, with 90 days of historical attribution visible within 24 hours. Teams get a single view of AI spend with month-over-month trend tracking for budgeting, cost and cycle-time visibility tied to specific epics and initiatives, and adoption/efficiency data by engineer – so leaders can see where AI tools are paying off. It requires no manual tagging and no workflow changes, connecting at the organization level through provider APIs, and integrates natively with Tempo Timesheets for a combined human-and-AI cost picture. An OpenAI connector is planned ahead of general availability, alongside GitHub and Anthropic support at launch.
