## About Tempo
Founded in 2009, Tempo Software is a Jira-native platform for strategic portfolio management, built to help organizations keep strategy, budgets, and delivery aligned as human and AI teams work side by side. Tempo brings together three product lines — Tempo, Strategic Roadmaps, and Structure PPM — into one connected system. Tempo is used by more than 30,000 companies, including one in three Fortune 500 organizations. Tempo's suite of solutions covers the full range of portfolio work, from individual projects to enterprise-wide programs: - Time tracking and financial management tools for logging hours, tracking costs, and managing budgets, capital expense, and operating expense across projects - Capacity and resource planning tools that show team availability, workload, and skill sets in real time, synced directly with Jira sprint data - Portfolio and program management tools that visualize multiple Jira projects, programs, and portfolios in a single, customizable view - Roadmapping tools that create shareable, audience-specific roadmaps for executives, product teams, and customers - Reporting and data visualization tools, including no-code dashboards, Gantt charts, and connectors for BigQuery, Tableau, and Power BI Organizations use Tempo to catch strategic drift before it compounds — the gap that opens up when plans, budgets, and delivery fall out of sync, especially as AI agents take on more work without filing a single status report. Instead of relying on quarterly planning cycles or scattered spreadsheets, planning and portfolio leaders get real-time visibility into where time, budget, and capacity are actually going, so adjustments happen before small gaps turn into missed deadlines or blown budgets.

## Tempo Reviews
 ### 1. Integrated into Jira but frustrating at times

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan S. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

The single best feature of Tempo is its deep integration into Jira. Having all our data for time tracking and billing our clients in the same system where we do project management is a must. We aren't power users, necessarily, but we have tried various of the advanced features from time to time. At the end of the day, time tracking against tickets and simple reporting are its primary purpose, and it does it well.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

We've experienced data loss issues in the past, and more than once we've been frustrated trying to find the right combination of permissions and team assignments to ensure people who need access to the data have it. It's also disappointing that historical timesheet entries disappear for users you remove from your Jira instance. We've ended up having to export our data for historical record keeping purposes to avoid any sort of accidental data loss.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our primary purpose is tracking time against tickets in client projects. Tempo is largely foolproof in this respect, and it's easy for project managers and are accounting team to bill the right client the right amount.

 ### 2. Excellent Tool for Tracking Work Done in Jira

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maureen J. | Tactical Product Team Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

What I like best about Tempo is how seamlessly it integrated with my Jira project and allows us to track our time against our story cards. We also use it with our contractors which allows them to report back to their agency to run their billing for us. All around a great tool for allowing us to track time thoroughly against our programming stories.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

We did struggle with the initial setup to get the administrative assistant access to pull the timesheets for our contractors but we were able to figure that out with help from knowledge articles from the Tempo wiki.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily we are solving tracking out our time against our Jira story cards, and our contractors use it to report time back to their agency for our billing. It works well for both of us and has helped us do a better job estimating our story points and our team's velocity against our budget.

 ### 3. Tempo includes the features and integrations that I need

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt K. | Lead Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

We use Jira to manage our work, so Tempo was a natural choice for tracking our time. I use and appreciate the free version of Jira; whereas, tempo costs $100/year... we don't use Tempo for much more than time tracking, so I am tempted to look for free alternatives, but the price is relatively low, so it is not a top concern.

I use Tempo to generate monthly reports for our customers, and these reports were simple to configure given that Tempo is so closely integrated with Jira.

I use ManicTime to track my time, and I use the Tempo integration to automatically add my entries, so I don't actually use the Tempo GUI for much more than reports.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

As I mentioned, while I like Tempo and think it is a good value, I am aware of free alternatives.

I have to do some finagling to get reports to focus on what I think is important and it doesn't seem like I can pull in Jira's custom fields to the reports.

**Recommendations to others considering Tempo:**

If you need to integrate with Jira and/or you use ManicTime to track your time then (with a little set up) you can use Tempo to track your time without actually having to work in Tempo (using the ManicTime integration).

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We track our time spent on Jira tasks. We our primarily interested in tracking our time that is billable to our customers, but we also track non-billable work to fill in our day.

 ### 4. Great for tracking time bewteen multiple projects

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean P. | System Administrator / Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

The ability to enter our time in through JIRA, report through JIRA, as well as pulling entries directly from the API into our custom systems for billing.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

Sometimes the speed of running reports could be better.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need the ability to track time across multiple tasks for multiple projects for multiple clients. Tempo does that for us.

 ### 5. Very good idea but needs some UI/UX improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jhony M. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

It's great because enable my team and I to log all what we do on a daily basis. Each log is tied to a Jira ticket which makes easy to bill our customer at the end of the month.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

In one of the latest upgrades, the delete button can be triggered accidentally without any confirmation. I hate that. We have lost several logs due to this functionality.

**Recommendations to others considering Tempo:**

If your primary project management tool is Jira, then this product is for you. If this is not the case, I'd recommend considering other tools.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use timesheets for 2 purposes: 1) to log everything our team does and know if everyone worked the expected amount of hours. 2) To bill our customer at the end of the month. We pull the logs, exclude the non-billable, and go from there.

 ### 6. Tempo Timesheets is a game changer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

The most helpful thing about Tempo Timesheets is the ability to toggle between different views. Each user can choose their own adventure as to which view they use to log their time

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

Initial set up is a little time consuming...make sure that you go through the training materials thoroughly before you get started!

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's easier to see a broad view of how much time is spent and also be able to surf over to the JIRA ticket to read more details. No need to hop from tool to tool.

 ### 7. Project Manager responsible to time tracking and resource planning

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carolina P. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

In the time entering window, I like that the information is pulled in directly from Jira, and the process is quick and straightforward. I also like the multiple view options - Timesheets, List, and Calendar.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

The resource planning gets messy very quickly. I'm limited with sorting it and don't have the "Monthly" recurring option in the main view. Just in the timeline view which gets even messier. There should be a weekly view as well. not just weeks and weeks at a time

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time tracking is easier, reporting is easier, resource planning is easier but it's not quite there yet. The data gets easily skewed so that gets a little hard to manage

 ### 8. Tempo for Project Billable Hours Reports

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

Tempo allows me to report on developer hours for an epic project, broken down by tasks. Tempo makes it easier to produce reports for billable hours at the end of a project.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

It would be great to see an additional time filter for "anytime" since projects can go on for long periods or go on hold and then get picked back up months or years later. I don't want to figure out when the time frame of an epic project began. I want to choose an epic project and get the total logged hours.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tempo has saved me hours at the end of epic development projects by allowing me to pull together developer hours in one report quickly and easily. I spent hours and days on the reports I can now do in minutes. Tempo is a time saver!

 ### 9. A great tool to integrate time logging directly into your process

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph D. | Chief Executive Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

I like the ability of users to log time and submit proper timesheets. The ability to pull billable hours is critical as well for us to be able to deliver summaries to our customers.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

My users have a hard time navigating to the right views, and I sometimes struggle to find where to go on the cloud product to review timesheets or produce reports for customers still after years.

**Recommendations to others considering Tempo:**

I recommend doing regular tag ups with team members as you train them on the tool and using it yourself to make sure you understand what your team is doing in the tool. That will help a lot with adoption.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The tool is primarily used to provide detailed reports to customers and let me break down work logs for employees. It has helped identify areas we weren't planning carefully and helped us identify errors in logs.

 ### 10. Tempo Timesheets Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Houtan K. | IT Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

It is easy to run reports to see exactly how much time we spent on a specific task. Being able to gain better insight on these things boost productivity.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

Tempo needs better communication on updates. They will rollout updates without really notifying you and things will break because of that

**Recommendations to others considering Tempo:**

This is a great piece of software that can be used to increase ROI.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gain better insight on how much time we spend in what category. This has allowed us to know how much resources we need to designate on what project.

 ### 11. Great system for keeping and reviewing time and project activity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

The time entry is flexible but comprehensive so that you can log everything you need but the process itself is still simple.
We also like the API so we can download details for reporting.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

In some cases the search functionality for finding a specific time slip does not seem to search correctly.
Also, we have not found a way to remove old JIRA items from the search.

**Recommendations to others considering Tempo:**

It was very helpful to us to have test projects we setup to model how we wanted time logged and reported on before trying to use it.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to migrate from a previous platform smoothly, we have all types of project time logged in the same place, and implemented the download of our timeslip details for internal reporting which is a big help for us.

 ### 12. Tempo review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Terrence S. | P, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

The integration into Jira is a huge time saver for us. Getting the team to enter time as they work tasks helps to make time entry more accurate.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

It's a little complex to set up the reports. But once you do, they are critical to tracking our monthly progress.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a consulting organization, so billable hours are critical to our business. Not only do we need to track the time of our consultants, but we also need to track what they were working on.

 ### 13. Full-featured time tracking with just a few drawbacks

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

As far as time tracking in Jira is concerned, Tempo is fantastic. It tracks time in issues efficiently and provides detailed analysis. Additionally, it works well with Jira's estimation; automatically subtracting time from estimates upon submitting work logs. It can also link work logs to commits in Bitbucket. I found the CSV export to be valuable in preserving records or providing clients proof for my invoices. It's gotten me out of two tricky situations. There is a mobile app as well (read my dislikes for more feedback on it).

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

The reason I stopped using it is that I was basically forced off of self-hosted Jira by Atlassian's decision to stop supporting those instances. As a result, I tried to migrate my self-hosted Tempo records to the cloud but this was so difficult it appeared impossible while working full time on projects for income. In the end, I switched to TMetric and found it was difficult to import Tempo time tracking into TMetric. I was able to enter total amounts but I'd have to add time tracking logs day by day manually. The mobile app was not so useful in the end because I couldn't stop a time log from it if I forgot to on the machine on which I started tracking. Being unable to control the time from tracking from a different device was an issue many times, whether through the app or simply from one computer to another. Lastly, I was disappointed that there was never a way to create an invoice from Tempo in PayPal or Quickbooks. I always had to go through all the records one by one and make line items in PayPal and Quickbooks for my invoices, costing me additional time.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was solving the problem of tracking my time for both billing clients and increasing efficiency. I would use Tempo's time logs to create invoices for clients who were on an hourly contract. I also used it for the estimation of projects and confirmation of correct estimation. By using Tempo, I honed my ability to estimate tasks and better plan my days and weeks.

 ### 14. Very helpful tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

It allows us to quickly and easily track what the team has worked on. Since we bill based off our time spent on different tickets, this is very important.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

None that come to mind. We are happy with the system.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to track the time each person has spent on each ticket, in addition to allowing us to add custom fields to track things like whether or not it should be billed.

 ### 15. tempo review after being a subscriber for over 1 year

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

reporting is powerful, as many of the parameters you need are available.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

i do suggest preparing more reporting templates as not all users maybe familiar with the jira hierarchy (personally i think jira has a bit of a learning curve) - this is just more for catering to not having the same users whom setup jira as the person running tempo reports.

eg i'm not sure if estimates against actual are available but it maybe a useful template.

not having o365 via mobile.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

identifying areas of the business or projects taking too much resources.

 ### 16. Very helpful for our company to track time for every employee

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deniss D. | Administrator-analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

When the time report is sent for review - the reviewer can understand which tasks the employee copes better with and which ones are worse.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

It was hard to implement time reporting for all of the employees, but it's not a problem of Tempo Timesheets but any new feature implemented in the company

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

After analyzing which tasks are better to assign to each employee (by reported time) - the supervisor now knows what tasks should be assigned to each employee for best performance to complete this task. So for business is a precious benefit - time to complete tasks has been reduced

 ### 17. Great Time Tracker for Atlassian Users

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew K. | COO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

Tempo Timesheets integrates seamlessly with existing JIRA installations. By adding this application to your existing JIRA account, your team will have access to log their time directly to the tickets they work on without any additional steps. The inherent time submission and review process also ensures that only valid time entries are included in your data sets, which helps you invoice with greater accuracy. The reporting feature also provides several intuitive filters that allow you to sort through your time entry data and analyze the information you need.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

The billing integration with JIRA is not cost-effective, as the application requires that you pay for each existing JIRA user, as opposed to each individual Tempo user. In the event you have JIRA users that do not need Tempo, you will still have to pay a monthly Tempo service fee for those users. As is the case with most JIRA-based features, the permissions schemes can be a bit complex in terms of setup, which can be very challenging for users with limited JIRA experience.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Through the use of Tempo, our team is able to streamline the time entry process by limiting the number of applications and steps required for daily data entry. The versatile reporting features also allow us to analyze time entry data from a number of different perspectives so that we can better understand the efficiency of our team.

 ### 18. Tempo Timesheets is a time saver!!!!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saul T. | Software Development Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

It is extremely easy to do time entries, it saves a lot of time at the end of the month.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

I don't think this product is missing anything.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saves us time at the time for approval of timesheets.

 ### 19. UX Should be improved

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrei P. | VP of Data, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

It is adding to JIRA what I need. It is amazing

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

Onboarding is not easy. Probably can be improve

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time Tracking and Transparent Reporting. So I can plan my time and see my team activities and time spend

 ### 20. Best Time Tracking Integrated Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

The GUI is the best to see my whole day and add as I go or see missed hours.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

Sometimes the tabbing doesn't work - e.g., I put in 1 hour and want to change the time and the 1 hour or the time doesn't work - it's weird

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of tracking time; generating reporting on time; integrating with JIRA tickets and adding to the tickets makes it easier to log time.

 ### 21. Does what we need it to do

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

Calendar overview
Multiple exporting functions
Saved reports
Super fast

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

Pretty much everything is there
Maybe little easier filtering, but that is more of nitpicking
Who gets to see what can be improved (we spend a lot of time figuring out how to add admins)

**Recommendations to others considering Tempo:**

The best time tracking software on Jira

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping the team in the know (e.g. how much time we spend on meetings, planning)
Resource management is great to see who will be available

 ### 22. Unleashing data mining on Jira

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

Project accounting is impossible without tempo. Easy to use and powerful reporting

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

Powerbi integration requires a plug-in. The data stream should be more accessible as it is so valuable for ERP project accounting

**Recommendations to others considering Tempo:**

It comes as a logical and natural extension to Jira. Highly recommend

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opening the black box that is project based software platform adaption/Development

 ### 23. One of the best, if not the best, time tracking tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

Tempo Timesheets allows for an easy way for all company members to submit their weekly task reports and the time they consumed for each of them.

Also, there are numerous and constant updates, such as automatic suggestions of Jira Issues you have viewed and even syncing with your calendar for suggestions.

The possible reports that you might produce are incredible. Combine and filter teams, departments, projects, issues, categories such as CAPEX/OPEX etc. and you will create exactly what you need.

I believe there's no better alternative for Jira when it comes to time tracking.
Tempo is also extremely helpful for scheduling and planning your resources, and users can set their leaves ahead of time.

Last but not least, if you are a multinational organization like us, you can localize your settings and have annual leave schedules per country.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

I'd like a better way to export or sync the reports with BI or other external systems, or possibly an automated way to produce said reports and send them weekly on specific days to the stakeholders.

A few video tutorials for tempo team leaders could also be very helpful, with buttons to view them directly in the UI. That would save our administrators a lot of time instead of having to explain to our users how to do each action.

We happened to have a few minor issues in the past (one of them being that reports were slow to generate), but the support has been fast in resolving our issue and pushing a fix.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thanks to Tempo Timesheets we are able to produce detailed report portaying the exact cost per produced corporate project, version release, even cost per teams.

It is easy to produce CAPEX/OPEX costs and keep track on our employees and their active tasks.

 ### 24. Great Product!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shaunt K. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

Having all of it integrated into Jira with the other jira data is super helpful. I love how easy for everyone to manage their timesheets.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

honestly, not very much. It would be really helpful if the time sheet data would be fed back into jira such that we could use the jira jql worklogauthor field

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integrating data from jira tickets with time logging.

 ### 25. Great tool for Jira time tracking

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

It was simple to use for everyone on the team. The reports were easy to customize, it was fast, and overall it was nicely integrated with Jira and the Atlassian suite.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

The permissions and settings were a bit confusing at first and hard to navigate sometimes. After having used the tool for a little while, we got the hang of it, though.

**Recommendations to others considering Tempo:**

Set time aside to understand the permissions and roles.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gives great insight into the team's efforts across different projects and tasks. The reports help us stay on track and have a constant overview of the business.

 ### 26. Great for improving visibility of hours for billing and resource management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** April P. | Head of Digital and Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

Easy to use, staff had no issues logging their time when we added Tempo as part of our internal processes. It's relatively simple to set up and use but it does its job really well.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

No major dealbreakers from our experience. It would be good though if the total time spent were more visible in the main issue view without having to click on a link.

**Recommendations to others considering Tempo:**

If you need to improve time estimates and get better timesheet reports, definitely look at getting Tempo.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a way to track hours spent on tasks so we could pay our contractors for their time and bill our clients accordingly. The timesheet summaries by staff and by account have really helped cut down on time spent tracking down hours for billing at the end of each month. Getting an instant view of hours worked has also enabled us to improve project time estimates that we provide to clients and has helped us avoid projects from going over the estimate.

 ### 27. Great for Timesheets and Cost tracking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

1. Easy way to submit the timesheet for Jira projects
2. Reporting functionality is great. Very easy to track Planned vs Actual time spent
3. Cost/Budget tracking is great

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

1. Budget forecasting functionality doesn't exist yet
2. Non-Jira items time tracking is not very convenient (or we haven't explored)

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Time tracking for all our projects
2. Cost/Budget tracking

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephan L. | Systems Integrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

The admin/management of this product is very versatile. We can allow multiple users to manage all or part Tempo.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

I believe that the lack of a complete competitive solution makes this offering a little expensive.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We manage many of our production teams with Tempo. We also use it to track time spent on projects which helps in planning future work/projects. It helps in monitoring work hours for hourly employees.

 ### 29. Excellent tool to track our teams' time and organize billable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas C. | Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

The interface is super easy to use and allows our teams to add items worked on right after they're done, quickly. This allows our finance team to very easily create billable reports for our clients.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

There is no app for tablet, some of our teams work on iPads and the process is cumbersome. Specially if you're using the tablet in landscape mode.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time tracking and time logging. The main benefit is to easily track items right after they're done. So the teams can track items that take just a few minutes or a few hours very easily.

 ### 30. Tempo keep my billing accurate

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

I like that my team logs their hours and if there are any edits to those logs, I can track the changes - this has helped to keep my billing reliable.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

no much really - it does the job that we want it to do. I would have to dig deep to find an issue.

**Recommendations to others considering Tempo:**

Try it out as a demo if available - you will quickly be convinced that this the the right tool.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we have always had a hard time with simple time tracking - as it was too time consuming to log and report on in the past. Now Tempo is very user friendly so the staff don't mind using it - and the reporting tool is powerful for our billing department.

we have benefited with time saving and accuracy.

 ### 31. Best Time Tracking Tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

The way you can manage reports, teams and also the time logged in Tempo Timesheet makes the app a must have. I recommand people who use the time logging feature on JIRA to also have Tempo installed.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

Nothing at this point! If there is something I can say is that the performance on server edition might slow down your instance if you have a ton of users and you want to export reports.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time tracking, managing resourcing and determine gaps in our processes.

 ### 32. Mindex Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Coz F. | PM, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

Reporting Capabilities

Ease of Use to add time

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

Cannot plan time by project - huge need in Software Industry. Currently you plan time by dedicating person X amount on Y project. It would be nice to take Y project and then dedicate X amount of employee. Just vice versa of how it is done now.

Cant track time by project.

Billable time and customer accounts are difficult to use. Many times the same customer will have a few different SOWs that need to be billed against.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time tracking and billing end customers.

 ### 33. Effective and easy to use work time tracking system

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

01. Easy to allocate the tasks time and easy to capture the spent time
02.Timesheet reminder help my team to update the timesheet
03. Mobile app and browser-based time tracking automation is very effective.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

Having separate fee structures for each component is not friendly.

**Recommendations to others considering Tempo:**

Tempo helps us to manage the Jira project very effectively and efficientlly. The team was also very happy to log their time without much effort as Tempo allows to capture the spent time in various ways such as mobile app and chrome plugin.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Initially, we planned to track each employee's time for the given tasks. It helps us to make a proper estimation for future projects. Also, we are using the tempo timesheet report for the purpose of customer invoicing.

 ### 34. Timesheet and reporting easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

Easy and intelligent time tracking tool. Reporting done by click.

Tempo is making reporting and time tracking so easy.

 ### 35. A good solution for time entry

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

Good user interface, straightforward and easy to use

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

It is not very flexible to accommodate workflow and dependencies specific to our environment

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal and third-party time tracking, sitting on Jira

 ### 36. Really like tempo

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

The fact that its integrated into jira software.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

The permissions setup is too complicated.

**Recommendations to others considering Tempo:**

Need to do a bit more research on how to setup permissions easily

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project Tracking and associated time tracking with JIRA projects.

 ### 37. Simple and Easy - even for lazy engineers like me who hate recording their time

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

Calendar integration - one click to record time, and even automatically determine task to record against
Drag and drop issues on days to create entries
Day view or grid view - different modes of entering, viewing and thinking about time entry
Ability to set favourite issues so able to work from a small list that is current for you
Ties into existing Jira workflow, so it sits right alongside existing standard tooling
Oh, and there's a mobile app too!

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

Literally nothing.
It has spoiled me on all other time entry systems. I wanted something that the laziest developer would not complain about

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Timekeeping across multiple projects and multiple teams
Time is kept up to date, so billing happens in a timely fashion !!!

 ### 38. Tempo Timesheets Easy to start

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

Easy to setup and use. Good for time tracking.
The reporting functionality allows users to create custom time reports based on user, project, account, and several other category designations,
which is great for organizing and assessing your time data.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

Reporting takes time to get it right.
Another thing I don't like is that export feature isn't flexible enough .
Cheaper alternatives are available.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time tracking is easy and does not take extra time.
Even log our work, control teams, reporting, budgeting

 ### 39. Jira Requires Tempo

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian S. | Managing Member =, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

I like how Tempo creates useful time reports.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

I don't like how Tempo loads slowly, and if you click "charge time" or anything Tempo related before a page COMPLETELY finishes loading, you get an error. This costs me a few seconds every day.

**Recommendations to others considering Tempo:**

I highly recommend Tempo - I consider it a mandatory Jira add-on.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm solving the problem of default time reporting in Jira being very poor. I've realized the benefit of simplifying our time-based accounting.

 ### 40. Perfect at what it does

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

Easy time on/off
Different Project names and titles within those projects. Works great for a single means of tracking multiple clients.
Manual adjustment as needed.
Google Drive backup

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

There's nothing I need it can't do. I've recommended it to all employees and friends.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time tracking for time billing purposes. Easy to create invoices from the resulting data.

 ### 41. Great Timesheet Tracking Tool Overall

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

I like how I can quickly drag and drop "favorite" issues on the List view.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

I'm not thrilled with some of the recent changes. For example, I keep inadvertently clicking the trash icon when wanting to edit logged time from the List view. Right now, the order is Delete, Edit, Duplicate. I suggest changing to Edit, Duplicate, Delete. Also, I wouldn't say I like the activity suggestions and quickly turned this feature off.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Tempo Timesheets, our team can effortlessly track time worked and run reports used for invoicing government contracts. We used to submit timesheets using Excel, and Tempo Timesheets has reduced much of the manual work that went into that process.

 ### 42. Tempo fits well with JIRA

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arnold F. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

The ease of using Tempo with JIRA integration and very easy to use. I really like the formats for timesheet entry and reporting is very easy.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

I do find it a bit clumsy to define favorites. It would be nice if I could just check a box to keep all the same issues from last month to the next month.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping an accurate log of R&D work as well as billable hours.

 ### 43. Tempo TimeSheets, an inseparable component for our Jira

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam S. | DevOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

It enables users to record their times and link it to all the different tasks that they've been in charge of for that period.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

Tempo TimeSheets can be confusing at times and is not the easiest of tools to manage and administer.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use tempo to enable our users to log their time against different Jira issues and use those data for SRED (Scientific Research and Experimental Development Tax Incentive Program) for Government of Canada.

 ### 44. Great tool integrated with JIRA to track time and generate reports

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

The way it's integrated with JIRA. We wanted a tool that allows us to track time within JIRA and not having our team using a separate tool for that.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

UX is not the best, and it would help a lot if the configuration would be a bit more straightforward. Also, some settings are not flexible enough.

**Recommendations to others considering Tempo:**

If you are looking for a JIRA integrated tool because you don't want to use an external service like Everhour, Toggl, etc., I think Tempo is a great choice.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving the time tracking for our collaborators and reporting for our management team. The main benefit is its integration directly within the JIRA dashboard.

 ### 45. With Tempo, I can easily have control over my reports and my team.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Davi V. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

Now I can easily send reports to my clients when requested and have real control over the projects.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

Sometimes the interaction with Jira needs more than a few clicks to track time.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

After Tempo, the project's hour bank was always wrong... my team had a feeling about how much time was left.. and most of the time, we lose out. Now our reports are 100% right and on time.

 ### 46. time management on the spot

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

smooth integration with jira, good report

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

cannot list something that i really dislike

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

cannot list something that i really dislike

 ### 47. Tempo Timesheet works well

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

I like how I can control who can view, approve, review, and edit timesheets. I also like that I can assign workloads to individuals along with a holiday schedule.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

I don't like that you can not enter time once a timesheet is submitted, even if the period of the timesheet is still open.

**Recommendations to others considering Tempo:**

Excellent tool if you have multiple teams with different reviewers. It also works well to see your team's utilization since you can assign holidays and workloads to individuals.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tempo Timesheets ensure our team records time every week by sending reminders and having an option to close a period x days after the last day.

 ### 48. Good time sheet product, but database internals sabotage ability to integrate with Cloud

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

The Timesheet view provides our workers with visibility on their work week and the ability for us to select 'default' issues that always appear to log time against.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

Tempo's internal permissions structure on time makes it incompatible with the Jira Cloud API, so our Salesforce integration cannot work with Tempo installed.

**Recommendations to others considering Tempo:**

If you are on Cloud, consider if you will ever need to use any service integrations..

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jira's built in time logging isn't especially great, so Tempo allowed us for many years to keep all of our workflow in one place rather than entering time into a separate system.

 ### 49. Planning and Profitability

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyler L. | Director of Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

Tempo allows our agency to track the profitabily of our work and the capacity of our team members.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

The latest update with the suggested time logging.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits are amazing for tracking various KPIs throughout our agency. We are able to plan our team members' capacity with 90% accuracy. This allows us to keep projects moving profitably without burning out our employees. That equates to high employee happiness!

 ### 50. Transformed the process of keeping timesheets

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christian D. | Chief Technical Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Tempo?**

Developers note record time against the work they are assigned, allowing for clear categorisation and allocation of work to the right cost centres within our organisation.

**What do you dislike about Tempo?**

Some of the reporting options should be expanded to include custom fields, lack of which often leads to exporting to excel and categorising there.

**What problems is Tempo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Work allocated to cost centre efficiently without requirement for workers to understand cost centres themselves.
