**What do you like best about Telnyx Voice AI Agents?**

We evaluated a handful of Voice AI agent platforms with a strict focus on latency—real, measurable, end-to-end responsiveness. Telnyx was the only provider that consistently hit the sub-second performance we needed. Everyone else struggled with noticeable delays, awkward turn-taking, or jitter that completely broke the experience.

With Telnyx, the agents feel natural. Responses land quickly, interruptions work the way they should, and the whole interaction feels like a real conversation instead of a laggy IVR. It's the first platform we've tested where we didn't have to compromise on speed or quality.

Set-up was straightforward, the docs are solid, and the network reliability shows. If low latency is a priority for your Voice AI agent (and it should be), Telnyx is in a different league in terms of their network.

**What do you like best about Telnyx Voice AI Agents?**

The developer-centric Voice API is the standout feature. It provided us with the granular, real-time control needed to build a sophisticated, self-hosted AI voice agent. The webhook system is robust and, most importantly, secure—the ability to validate webhook signatures gave us the confidence to build a production-ready system. This, combined with the power to dynamically control call flows via API commands, makes it the perfect platform for complex, custom integrations at a cost that is significantly more effective than competitors.

**What do you dislike about Telnyx Voice AI Agents?**

While the core API documentation is excellent, finding some specific operational details can require a bit of digging. For instance, consolidating the exact IP ranges for webhook services to create firewall or Cloudflare Access rules wasn't immediately obvious in the main portal. Making this kind of crucial operational data more prominent within the dashboard would be a great improvement.

**What problems is Telnyx Voice AI Agents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problem 1: The Infrastructure Gap between Telephony and Modern AI
The first and most significant problem Telnyx solves is bridging the complex, legacy world of traditional telephony (the Public Switched Telephone Network) with our modern, event-driven AI infrastructure. We have a custom-built system using n8n for automation and Vogent for Text-to-Speech, all running as containerized applications. The core challenge was: how do we make a standard phone number interact with this system in real-time?

Benefit: Radical Simplification and Speed to Market
Telnyx completely solves this by abstracting away all the underlying telecommunications complexity. Their Voice API provides a simple, developer-friendly gateway.
For us, the benefit is a massive reduction in complexity and a significantly faster time to market. We don't need to be telecom experts, manage physical phone lines, or deal with SIP trunks. We simply provisioned a number through the Telnyx platform, pointed its webhook to our n8n instance, and were instantly able to receive live phone calls as simple HTTP requests. This allowed us to focus immediately on our core competency: building the AI agent's logic.

Problem 2: Enabling Real-Time, Dynamic Call Control
The second problem was achieving fine-grained, real-time control over the live call flow. A simple call-forwarding service is not enough for an AI agent. We needed the ability to dynamically play audio generated by our AI, listen for the caller's response, process that response, and then decide on the next action—all within milliseconds to create a seamless conversational experience.

Benefit: Creating a Truly Interactive and Intelligent Agent
Telnyx's webhook-based system is the key benefit here. The platform's ability to receive and act on commands in real-time is what makes our AI agent possible.
The benefit is that our application isn't just a passive IVR; it's a dynamic, interactive participant in the conversation. When a caller speaks, Telnyx sends us the event. Our n8n workflow processes it, calls the Vogent AI, and sends a command back to Telnyx to 'speak' the response. This tight feedback loop is fundamental to our product and would be incredibly difficult to build from scratch.

Problem 3: Ensuring Scalability and Reliability
The third problem is one of infrastructure reliability and scalability. Building a voice application that can reliably handle calls 24/7, maintain high audio quality, and scale to handle multiple simultaneous conversations requires a robust, carrier-grade network. Building, maintaining, and securing this level of infrastructure ourselves would be prohibitively expensive and resource-intensive.
Benefit: Access to Enterprise-Grade Infrastructure as a Service
By using Telnyx, we are effectively leveraging their global, carrier-grade network.
The benefit is immediate access to a scalable, resilient, and secure voice infrastructure without the massive capital expenditure and operational overhead. We have confidence that the underlying telephony 'plumbing' is solid, allowing us to focus on application-level development. It gives our project a foundation of professionalism and reliability that would otherwise be out of reach for our team's size and focus.

Easy to implement solutions, the customer support is made by real people, always online also the weekend (thanks guys) and it integrates perfectly with my workflows.

You have to pass a few verification steps to get access to all the functionality. But in 4 days and always chatting with the customer support I had everything solved and ready to go. So, great experience overall.
