## Tekla Model Sharing Reviews
  ### 1. Big Task, No worries now work at same time in same space.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Tekla Model Sharing?**

With Tekla Model Sharing, the originator of a model can upload it to the cloud, enabling remote access for users across various locations. This feature allows multiple users to collaborate on the model simultaneously, ensuring efficient and seamless teamwork.

Tekla Model Sharing also provides detailed permission controls, enabling the model owner to restrict tasks by granting view-only access when required. This approach prevents unauthorized or frequent unwanted changes, simplifying the process of monitoring and managing updates.

Access permissions can be dynamically adjusted, allowing the removal of access for users who no longer require it. This ensures that the model remains secure and accessible exclusively to authorized individuals.

Furthermore, users can standardize the interface and detailing across the project to generate consistent drawings and 3D model outputs. This ensures a unique and seamless product, maintaining high-quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

**What do you dislike about Tekla Model Sharing?**

At times, managing permissions and dealing with waiting times can become a tedious task. However, this challenge can be effectively addressed by assigning the right roles and permissions to users. By implementing a well-structured access control system, tasks can be streamlined, ensuring that users have appropriate access levels to perform their duties without unnecessary delays.

**What problems is Tekla Model Sharing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Enabling simultaneous sharing with multiple users simplifies collaboration across various locations. Whether users are working from multiple offices or remotely from home, this capability ensures seamless access to the shared model, promoting flexibility and efficiency in teamwork.

  ### 2. Tekla model sharing overview

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aimen M. | Train Host, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Tekla Model Sharing?**

I enjoyed the fact that multiple colleagues over different locations throughout the country could still collaborate on the same projects with the need to send heavy files over and running the risk of corrupting some of them. we used it on a monthly frequency to keep up to date.

**What do you dislike about Tekla Model Sharing?**

it's not very easy to use at first.
And it takes a few weeks to implement everything.

**What problems is Tekla Model Sharing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the main problems that tekla tackles in a team is the need to always share manually different models or updates in constructions which helps some projects flow more seamlessly

  ### 3. Collaborating with Tekla Model Sharing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Tekla Model Sharing?**

You can work offline without losing any of your progress. All your changes are saved on your computer, and when you're ready, you can share them with your team. This is great if your internet is slow or not always available. Syncing is fast, even for large projects.

**What do you dislike about Tekla Model Sharing?**

Fixing conflicts can be tough when different people edit the same part of the model, which can slow things down. It also takes some time to teach everyone how to use the system. It might seem like more work than it’s worth for small teams or simple projects.

**What problems is Tekla Model Sharing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can work with teammates from different places and avoid mistakes from using outdated models. It also lets you work remotely or on-site without needing a specific computer or network.

  ### 4. Great tool for distributed teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Tekla Model Sharing?**

Tekla Model Sharing excels in enabling seamless collaboration across geographically dispersed teams. Its standout feature is the ability to work offline, requiring internet connectivity only for synchronizing changes. This flexibility enhances productivity by allowing team members to work on their local copies of the model without interruptions caused by network issues. The system only shares incremental changes rather than the entire model, which speeds things up and improves efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Tekla Model Sharing?**

User roles and permissions can be tricky and confusing. Troubleshooting sync issues is also difficult.

**What problems is Tekla Model Sharing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tekla Model Sharing solves the problem of collaborative work on large BIM models by allowing multiple users to work simultaneously on a single project, even offline, and synchronizing only incremental changes. This improves efficiency, reduces downtime caused by network issues, and ensures teams can collaborate seamlessly across different locations.

  ### 10. Excellent collaboration tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darrell D. | Document Control, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Tekla Model Sharing?**

This is excellent for those that model with Tekla Structures. We hire outside detailers at times and this allows them to give us access to the complete model without having to email it over. We can use it as our own and save it to our own systems if needed. This is a must have, no brainer if you're using Tekla. It also works well with Tekla EPM (formerly FabSuite).

**What do you dislike about Tekla Model Sharing?**

It's a very simple idea and I feel like it should be free with a certain level of Tekla. It's not expensive when comparing it to the overall cost of Tekla. But when you're spending well over $10,000 for a software, you feel like sharing your work shouldn't cost extra.

**Recommendations to others considering Tekla Model Sharing:**

There is a free trial that I highly recommend doing first to see if you like it. It's a very simple software to use and if you subcontract detailing then it could very easily be worth every penny.

**What problems is Tekla Model Sharing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is allowing our outside detailing firms to be able to collaborate in real time on models

  ### 12. Makes sense on a program standpoint

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Grace R. | Design Trainee, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Tekla Model Sharing?**

Tekla modeling is useful for, of course, sharing models created in Tekla amongst a group, or from individual to individual. If there was no other immediate option for sharing files, this would probably be the first choice of the company I work for.

**What do you dislike about Tekla Model Sharing?**

While online sharing of files and models have made bounds of progress, our company uses a more secure way of sharing and saving the models. The models are able to be saved to several drives so there is no loss of files, nor a leak if someone was able to hack the network. Thus, my company uses an in-company network to share, save, and protect files and models.

**Recommendations to others considering Tekla Model Sharing:**

If files don't need to be protected other than the generic coverage, definitely a good option.

**What problems is Tekla Model Sharing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Even though my company is a heavy Tekla user, model sharing is not really used. We have the in-company network that we work with. However, the sharing program is easily accessible on Tekla - as I have accidently opened it several times when using Tekla. Communication for projects is key, so having a program that helps with that aspect.
