"Tealium IQ helps with scalability"

What do you like best?

Libraries + tag marketplace are the biggest advantage of Tealium IQ, the support is superb and usually helpful. Description of versions is super helpful in case more persons cooperate on the same profile.

What do you dislike?

user management is pretty difficult when you have more than 1 account and measuring mobile apps is not that easy as other solutions on the market. Overall, it requires a bit of technical skills so besides simple configuration you need to understand a bit of technicalities. Onboarding of new tags could be also faster.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Go though communicaty and partner wiht your Tealium engineer. General backlog for improving Tealium IQ would be a good source to collect ideas. Audit run every 2 years can help to improve the condition of Tealium IQ as well as communication of updates to clients.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Measuring websites and mobile apps, the best benefit is usage of libraries and versioning.

"Manage your marketing tags"

What do you like best?

Tealium is great at managing all of your marketing tags in one platform that provides a lot of flexibility on how and where your tags deploy.

What do you dislike?

Due to the way the code lives inside various tags, templates, extensions, it can be difficult to find where the code you are looking for lives when searching the platform.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

While there are a number or Tag Management platforms you can use, including options that are much cheaper, Tealium is really one of the best tools in the industry. With a few planned feature changes and tweaks this will be the industry standard.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Business problem is maintaining marketing tags for 20 different businesses with 1000s of pages that require only specific tags. Tealium allows us to control what tags fire and when using the load rules, this drastically simplifies this process for us.

What Tag Management solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

"Most complete TMS solution I've worked with, despite its technical complexity."

What do you like best?

The powerful and strong datalayer solution, and the environment management. Also the opportunity to edit tags templates and make them even more custom.

What do you dislike?

I find it difficult to sell to our customers. It's complex to explain to our clients why they have to pay a licence for the tool if there are cheaper opportunities. For me, from a technical perspective, is easy to see its benefits but hard to tell to a business or finance profile.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Even though it could be a little bit difficult to get used to it when you start, it is really worth it in the end, and you can get deeper levels of data granularity.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

One of the most recent, it was GDPR and cookies management. It's consent prompt helped us a lot to figure this out.

"Our organization uses just about the full suite of products however I am currently doing lots of IQ "

What do you like best?

Support from Tealium team, was amazing. Before I got to our organization, no one really managed our solution and the support team help to clean up 5 years worth of old tags which were weighing down our website. We saw a tremendous uplift in speed!

What do you dislike?

adoption across org has been difficult, because many of our marketers do not understand the importance of adding the tag proper and pulling it down when their campaign is done.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

IQ is the tip of the iceberg in terms of managing desperate data sources across your organization and can really help to connect the dots

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Server side and client side tag management, but we are looking at Audience Stream for help with personalization, event stream and soon Private Cloud

"Complete and powerful tag management system"

What do you like best?

Tealium takes a powerful and potentially complex system and wraps it in a UI that makes manaement and administration simple and easy to understand. We have taken new users with no tag management experience and onboarded them to be competent users for their particular tagging needs in short order. Meanwhile our core team of admins are able to meet requirements for much more complex and difficult requests to accomplish things that we were never able to do before.

What do you dislike?

My biggest (and perhaps only real) complaint is that it is difficult to work simultaneously with others. Our core team of admins is small (3 admins) but we have a handful of marketers and MarTech power users that self service which can make things a little tricky. Things have improved in recent years and we're looking forward to where Tealium takes us in coming months.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Listen to your account handlers and follow their guidelines. The support teams are great and incredible resources. Consider your data layer early - this will be the foundation that everything will be built upon. The hard work done up front will pay off in the long run.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have multiple domains with multiple agencies and internal teams requiring everything from various analytics to smaller shop, specific tagging. Additionally, we have invested time in leveraging TiQ to markup pages for structured data, dynamic tagging (allowing us to use single tags to do multiple jobs - tracking, conversion, remarketing etc) and more. We occasionally get some interesting requests to meet specific needs and we have not been limited by TiQ in what we've been able to deliver.

"Empowering marketing and business to accelerate customer growth"

What do you like best?

We use Tealium IQ to manage thousands of our marketing pixels and build customer segments for optimizing our customer growth. Before we implemented Tealium, it was a long, arduous process to keep marketing data up-to-date across our site. With Tealium IQ, we have moved ownership to our marketing and martech teams, which empowers them to track, update, and optimize our media efforts.

What do you dislike?

With any new service, it takes time to properly audit our current pixel implementation, write up scalable specs, and prioritize the work within our dev backlogs. However, once we got Tealium implemented, we've accelerated our tag management, and have given much needed time back to our tech teams.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Analyze the time it takes to manage your current tracking pixels and data. I guarantee the initial investment will pay off in multitudes.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We've solved the manual task of having to add/remove/manage pixels, giving time back to our tech teams.

"Tealium IQ"

What do you like best?

It`s easy to use with a huge range of built in tags and extensions, but also offers amazing flexibility with data extensions and custom tags.

It also offers non technical people the tools to manipulate and easily pass data to multiple partners.

Customer support is quick and reliable and also the community is really helpfull.

What do you dislike?

Not much to say about negative points. Tealium IQ feels a little slow, but probably it`s because of our version history and account size.

Some minor issues where data variables weren`t set correctly due to an ignore case extension, but it`s something that was easily solved.

Community is good, but could be more active.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Tealium IQ cut down deployment times for new partners / tools by up to 90%.

We`re also using some of Tealium`s features for transaction deduplication. This allowed us to reduce this bookings attributed to multiple partners by 95%.

Tealium IQ was also an important part of merging two companies with two different marketing stacks in record time.

"Tealium Leads Data Collection and Management"

What do you like best?

My favorite thing about TealiumIQ is the great integrations with so many technologies. This makes it so much easier for team and clients to keep all tags and integrations up to date. With the non-stop and fast moving legislative and technological governance changes, this is critical for keeping our sites legal and functioning. I also really like the Consent Management tool, miles ahead of anything else out there.

What do you dislike?

I really enjoy the new UI, I disliked the old one...so nothing now.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Think about data security, scale and meeting legal requirements

"Heavy Tag Management/iQ User"

What do you like best?

The breadth of available vendor tag templates combined with the robust custom template functionality. We use both very heavily and get a lot of value from each. My teammate and I are both javascript developers, but you don't have to be to use the tool (but it does help).

What do you dislike?

The versioning and ability to overwrite other's code. When you have many people in the tool, it requires a LOT of coordination to make sure multiple users are in the tool at the same time making simultaneous edits.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

You'll be better off having developers to do most of the heavy lifting as custom coding is at times involved.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Tealium is our tag management solution. It enables us to quickly and efficiently get javascript ANYwhere on our sites (meaning we don't have to go through other dev teams to get tags or anything else hard-coded onto the site).

"Great Product"

What do you like best?

We use TiQ to manage tags for our global, multi-brand, multi-agency company. The product itself is great but the real differentiator with Tealium is the community and support - they're one of the most responsive vendors I've worked with and consistently listen to/act upon my feedback.

What do you dislike?

We've had some issues with TiQ not having prebuilt integrations with some of the smaller vendors we use - the upside is they often release new integrations and have been proactive in working with us to build out custom templates as needed.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Global data layer alignment, ability to quickly onboard/offboard vendors, power reliable global analytics tool.

"Tealium iQ Tag Manager"

What do you like best?

Its vendor neutral, allows multiple profiles and can be customized to be hosted within company premise. Tealium iQ supports multiple profiles, multiple publishing targets, custom javascript execution and attaching them with different browser and custom events, which provides flexibility for customization. It allows very granular security controls, SSO integration, Tealium standalone authentication / authorization, 2 factor authentication.

What do you dislike?

Tealium iQ doesn't have much flexibility around concurrent editing and merging changes, bulk select and edits. Large enterprises are still evolving around the client side security and resource integrity. So far Tealium don’t have any strong support for security specifications like CSP (Content Security Policy) or SRI (Sub Resource Integrity).

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Tealium do not have any competing digital marketing or media products so they are not inclined toward a specific products unlike Google Tag Manager, Adobe DTM etc.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are using Tealium for managing media and non media tags for our application. It provides a layer of abstraction between application and tags and allows manage tags with great flexibility. Using thallium, we are able to reduce any development efforts from multiple systems (websites) and enhance speed to market.

"Tealium IQ is transforming our digital experience"

What do you like best?

Tealium IQ Management is easy to implement and does not replace our Google Analytics deployment, but instead helps us manage across multiple data sources to build audience and take action on that data. I'd recommend this product to any business that is trying to solve the personalization challenge many of us face.

What do you dislike?

It can be difficult for our executives to understand the differences of the various tagging systems and the different roles they play.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Stitching many data sources together in order to learn as much as we can about our customers and provide them the tailored content they want.

"Versatile Magic Hat"

What do you like best?

Tealium IQ Management has worked like a magic hat for our company. In a world where vendors change every couple of years it becomes very expensive and time consuming to go and update the code for every new vendor. Tealium IQ has helped us standardize our analytic intake as well as increase speed to market for new features and onboarding new platforms.

What do you dislike?

Tealium still loads as a javascript that adds delays and additional network requests. Would be great to be able to easily setup tealium scripts to load from our domain directly. Even better if we could load it via our CDN solutions directly.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have solved our tag management solution as well as being able to quickly add thrid party vendors to our website or even quick fixes like simple redirects or js patches

"Powerful & Flexible Tag Management Tool"

What do you like best?

Tealium has a bunch of options for managing tagging implementation. It has the ability to define where and when things run as well as the option to use raw JS to run functionality.

What do you dislike?

I would like to have the ability to easily import/export the setup, especially for situations such as when we need to audit variables or do a bulk variable update.

Also, the edit user permission functionality is not completely clear (e.g. what permissions are required to be able to set labels, turns out there is a specific combination before it works for users who have specific permissions).

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have been able to effectively tie together data for various products such as Adobe Analytics and Adobe Target using a combination of utag.sync.js, tagging config and manual tag template updates.

"TiQ is a great product"

What do you like best?

I like how concise they make the panels for information viewing. I like the future Github integration as well.

What do you dislike?

I wish there was a REST API for querying current tag and extension code. Similarly I wish that the Github integration would work for tags as well as extensions.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It's a great product. Do it.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We've used it for all our tag management and it's been great for that. It's simpe to use and for a new user like me it's easier to get started than with a homegrown alternative.

"Tealium IQ is the most versatile Tag Manager out there"

What do you like best?

The flexibility and advanced options are great. Almost every obstacle or feature gives you at least two and often more ways of going about the same task.

What do you dislike?

The other side of the coin is that the vast volume of options also erodes the idea of "best practice" in many cases, as it is more a question of preferences. If you are to get the most out of IQ you need intermediate skills in coding as well.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are removing scripts from the websites sites and controlling every load and tracking parameter in Tealium IQ, in order to centralize governance and to optimize site performance. Furthermore, IQ facilitates tracking new dimensions and events that would have been very development dependent to establish beore TEalium IQ

"The very best tag manager out tgere"

What do you like best?

Tealium's ability to simplify the things that the 'free' tag manager can AND can't do. Tealium is by far a leader and a visionary by taking a mundane tag management platform and building it into an engine that is far more powerful than any of the other tracking engines out there.

What do you dislike?

There is nothing I really dislike, it's interface could be updated a bit (I haven't used it for a year so maybe they have).

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Buy Tealium instead of using the 'free' G product. There are so many ways to use it beyond standard tag management that will make the investment pay dividends by a huge margin.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Better attribution, easier time with data transformation, easy to create data layer, the list just goes on...

"Nice tag management solution for a global company"

What do you like best?

What I like the most about Tealium IQ are the several things, for example that it is possible to overview and manage well all the work done in Tealium by the team members. Also, amazing possibility to run everything in libraries - so to havr all the settings unified.

What do you dislike?

What I dislike about Tealium IQ - sometimes slow in deploying the changes. Also sometimes I have a feeling that it is not really intuitive and user-friendly..

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Tagging the websites. Connecting multiple solutions in one.

"Worth the price"

What do you like best?

For me, not coming from IT-background, Tealium is the best way to set up all our tracking and online marketing tags, because it is easy to use for any marketer.

What do you dislike?

Some integrations can be complecated as there are unclear definitions of the values to be mapped. The documentation is not always helpful (but most times).

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We do not need to wait for the IT-team to realize our tag-implementations anymore. It is fast and we are way more dynamic.

"Makes Analytics Easier"

What do you like best?

The ease of use is great with Tealium. I am able to tag multiple page and adjust analytics programs in a matter of minutes. What used to take hours of manually tagging page can now be done in less than 30 minutes with ease. Their debugging tool is great because it shows each tag is firing and what is being set up to the corresponding product.

What do you dislike?

I really haven't found anything to dislike, There are no real show stoppers with the software.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you want to improve efficiency with multiple analytics packages, choose Tealium. The set up is extremely easy and you'll realize that everything works a lot easier if you can review it all at once.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Before Tealium, I implemented all my Analytics manually. If I wanted to make change I would have to update it on all pages. The great thing about Tealium is that they allowed for us to be more efficient by implementing their one tag on all of our pages and managing our analytics through their system. If we needed an update, we did it through their system and it would reflect only on the pages where we wanted it. The changes were close to instantaneous and we were able to test them out in qa, test and/or production. If I have an issue with something not working, their customer service responses were prompt and very attentive. Overall, I found it a pleasant experience and their system works out great.

"Become Agile!"

What do you like best?

Tealium allows you to free up your developer's time and quickly add and remove vendors tags to your website. The support you receive from Tealium is excellent if you need to customize a tag beyond the standard implementations. This flexibility allows marketers to run vendor tests even do A/B tests between vendors all within the Tealium dashboard. Our company wouldn't be nearly as agile marketing wise without Tealium.

What do you dislike?

A lot of tags are almost plug and play, but some complex tags (e.g., Sitecatalyst) do require assistance from Tealium's support team. That being said rarely has this help spilled over into billable support hours. It is usually covered by our standard support agreement, which is offered to all clients.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Your data layer setup is crucial! Spend the time and effort getting it right during onboarding.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Allow the marketing department to deploy tags in a timely manner to improve our analytical capacities and optimization campaigns.

"Best TMS available"

What do you like best?

The tool itself is great, but the service team is by far the best part of working with Tealium. Our AM is very responsive and knowledgeable and the solution engineers a amazing.

What do you dislike?

The one thing we've found occasionally frustrating is that there not being a mobile site or an app. The interface has a lot, so I get that putting everything in a mobile experience is tough, but some basic features would be handy when a person can't get to computer and need to revert to a previous version or something.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our main reasons for going with a TMS were;

- Getting tags live quickly. Adding to a sprint delays tags by at least a week.

- Knowing what tags we have on the site. We had many legacy tags and broken tags.

- Site speed. Tealium runs asynchronously, so our site loading isn't delayed.

What do you like best?

There's plenty of well written support articles that clearly explain concepts of every facet within tealiumiq. Whenever I need help these act as a great resource, and if I'm ever within doubt the support team at Tealium are always on hand to resolve our tracking problems.

What do you dislike?

I've had troubles in the past with multiple users adding extensions that are conflicting with one another however these have been addressed both with recent updates to iQ and by speaking to support staff who have made recommendations.

What do you like best?

Tealium iQ is our system to manage the data collecting on our websites. For the first time, we have a transparency about what we have built and implemented on it. We can coordinate our cost more efficient.

What do you dislike?

We can not separate the user rights between iQ and Audience Stream

"Easy to implement and manipulate tags"

What do you like best?

Once the base code is on your site or app you can integrate various tags within Tealium IQ and not have to change the code on site or app going forward. You can also use extensions to manipulate the data to be more user/business friendly.

What do you dislike?

The interface for the publish version history is not the most user-friendly way to view when trying to find a publish that has caused issues. A calendar view would be great to easily identify the publishes for certain dates.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Having the control to integrate various tags such as Analytics, Social, Campaign tracking etc. without further development required on website and app.

"Great product, awesome customer service!"

What do you like best?

The customer service / support has been great. Everything that I can't figure out how to do myself, I send over to my account manager, Neil, and he gets the tags set up within a few hours or a day at most.

What do you dislike?

Non-standard tags are a bit hard to figure out how to set up using their self-service process.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you have a lot of tags that need to be managed on your website, look no further - Tealium makes it easy to do, and their customer support is fantastic.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Tag management! We have dozens of tags on various parts of our website, setting all of those manually (and particularly activating/removing them at will) would be a major hassle manually, Tealium allows us to add and remove tags in seconds without having to do extra code releases each time.

When we moved from our old tag management solution to tealium, we quickly discovered the ease with which we can expand globally. With over 400 sites, our focus was/is global governance and speed to market- and with tealium we were able to rapidly expand and implement the tag management solution.

"We are in the initial stages of implementing Tealium."

What do you like best?

I equate digital tag management to the Wild West - there are far too many players and ways of tagging that it makes the digital tagging space too chaotic. Tealium IQ Management helps to focus our tagging efforts and make it far more efficient to create and manage tags.

What do you dislike?

So far there is not much to dislike. We have not found any major issues with the product.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Engage with Tealuium Professional Services to get off on the right foot.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It is providing a unified tag management environment. It allows us to concentrate on the strategy rather than the implementation.

We are using it as our primer tag manager helping us collect data. We build robust custom tracking standards.

"Tag Management for Marketing"

What do you like best?

I like the number of out of the box tags that are available. Every new tool we add to our tech stack will most likely already have a tag in Tealium ready to deploy.

What do you dislike?

In our company we need the support of IT to still deploy tags which makes a huge bottle neck.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Make sure you have a strong team behind it, as your digital assets grow it is important to grow IQ with it.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Data collection is much easier through IQ. It helps us make data driven decisions once we have the right data collected.

What do you like best?

Working with Tealium IQ has been a positive experience. The Tealium team is dedicated to ensuring that we are setup for success taking the time to help integrate Tealium IQ, and work with the team make sure they are trained appropriately.

What do you dislike?

The initial setup was not clear to users, and some of the reference materials were not clearly articulating how the data layer would be setup.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Key business problems being solved include reducing the time needed from Engineers to setup and manage tags, as well as, helping to improve our access to high quality data.

What I love best about Tealium is how easy it is to use and the client support they offer. Several times I have needed help on an integration and their team was there to support me every step of the way. The team always reacts quickly to my requests and finds a resolution.

What do you dislike?

There really isn't anything I dislike about this company or product.

Definitely a great company and product to work with.

We use Tealium to make tag management easier on our web site. Having Tealium allows us to quickly integrate with different advertising and technology partners because we can quickly turn on new tags without having to go to our site developers.

"Fantastic Product and Service!"

What do you like best?

My favorite part about Tealium is the support team. Most tag managers are all essentially solving the same problem of easily pushing code onto the page in a an efficient manner. For me, this boils down to adding or changing what sorts of data we're tracking about our users. Whenever we have any issues ranging from complex tracking to tag issues, Tealium support team is always incredibly responsive, helpful, and willing to do whatever they can to help us resolve our issues. They make me more confident that i can add any tag or track anything i need to knowing that they'll be there to help me if i need it.

What do you dislike?

As more of a technical user, i haven't really found anything that i dislike. While the general setup is pretty simple, the setup can be a bit less straightforward for more complex Tealium implementations. Their support team will always be there to help figure out how to handle these issues though when they come up.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

This is a great product -- very easy to use and very customizable. The support team will always be there if you have any issues.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We're trying to solve the effeciency problem of adding and changing web analytics tools at a speed that matches our business changes. We want to be able to get tracking changes in place quickly, efficiently, and in a way which has the least effect on page load speed. Tealium has helped us make these goals become a reality. We also use Tealium for mobile app tracking. Tealium has made this process much easier as we only needed to implement one SDK to pass data along to many tags.

"Consistent and scalable tagging"

What do you like best?

Tealium has an extremely robust tag marketplace and is extremely flexible no matter what level of implementation. We were able to deploy multiple different tags in a simple and quick manner.

What do you dislike?

When a vendor has updated their code, there is not an automatic way to apply the updates. Some of the documentation can be clearer.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Ensure that resources are available to create a data layer if one does not exist.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We were trying to find a way to quickly scale tagging and integrate data. With multiple different domains, we had gaps in tracking that we hard to address without Tealium.

"Awesome Product & AMAZING Service"

What do you like best?

I've worked with Tealium for almost a year now and when I first started working with them, my thought was - why not Google Tag Manager? It's free and easy to use. But now I completely see the benefit and much of it comes down to service. We are a lean team and I don't have the time to manage tags, so I send all of that work to Tealium and they get it done quickly and accurately. For a nominal fee each month, it's completely worth it.

What do you dislike?

I'm somewhat of a technical marketer and I have been able to figure out GTM no problem, but I do find Tealium's UI a bit complex, but it doesn't really matter because of their service is exceptional and they normally take care of it for me.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are also utilizing a custom version of their channel extension to help with attribution and compared to other tools that are overly complicated and expensive. Tealium gets the job done and has saved me money in media cost.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

costs savings immediatly because before i had to ask data agencies to integrate and publish my media tags

"great to optimize a big amount of tags putting order and cleaness in the configuration"

What do you like best?

i like the chance to setup libraries in order to optimize different tags into one unique version

What do you dislike?

the fact that you cannot test in preview and you cannot use workspaces, but i just learnt today that both should be released very soon :)

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

the manual work needed to configure tags daily in gtm
