Humanity is easy to read and understand. Very barebones, so you aren't getting to much. But what you do get is good for a small group of people you'd like to schedule. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
How barebones Humanity is. Only one vacation policy you can use for all teams, no matter if you want them to be different. Intraday scheduling is not there, either. Really, it's not good for a contact center. So if that's what you have, I'd look elsewhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Seeing schedule and getting updates for schedule. I liked being able to trade shifts and open shifts without having everyone’s phone number Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I disliked receiving a notification every time the schedule changed for everyone and requesting time off for weekly changes in schedule. Easier for people with consistent weekly schedules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Open shifts feature, rotation scheduling, shift trades, Employee view layout, Position view layout, leave planning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cannot extend rotations (ex: for another month)
Cannot remove rotation from a shift after applied, only way to remove it is to copy the shift and then one of the two shifts (the original or the copied) will have no rotation applied on it
Cannot copy or move a shift across both days and employees (employee view) or days and positions (position view)
Cannot have positions with multiple skills required and have employees have multiple skills required that would match up so that employees would see shifts that match their skills, but instead each employee needs to be manually added to each position.
Cannot add a 24 hour shift rate on the payroll side, only hourly
Cannot view Currently scheduled employees in Employee view, have to scroll around so much that you may as well use position view making it more difficult to fill a shift when needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to use interface but not ideal for my companies use case Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The platform has really poor integration with our internal database which causes a lot of issues. It's not a bad software, but not ideal for our purposes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that it keeps track of all clock in times and breaks it's very organized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The flaws, sometimes it doesn't let people clock in at all, or it clocks them out before their shift has even ended. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Time clock keeps track of breaks and work time, has overtime calculations for payroll and is generally sufficient for our needs. Schedule visual view and editing is fairly straight forward and intuitive when used for it's basic functionality.
It has a mobile app, which is great for clocking in and out, but requires internet to even launch, so as long as I'm connected, that's ok.
I really appreciate the ability to see the shifts in a time line to view how well we've established 24/7 coverage for our support teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Auto filling of shifts has no true algorithm, which means we cannot use it. Stat holidays and tracking day off requests isn't as smooth as we would like, given our employees are all over the world (variety of timezones).
We were promised g-suite integration, which is not available at all.
The support team has tried to help us with the holidays for international employees several times, and they often don't seem like they have updated information on our previous conversation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that it provides many different options for how to contact employees and communicate necessary messages. Scheduling software benefits the most from using effective communication tools, and Humanity certainly has those. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The developers seem to be constantly patching the software and making small updates, which means that changes happen that are unexpected. When something changes, even if it's for the better, over a hundred employees have to relearn that particular detail. Additionally, new bugs are constantly being introduced and patched out, and this is often more of an inconvenience than what was being changed in the first place. Humanity continues to make user-friendly and intuitive improvements for the end user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Login sessions are not securely authenticated and allow browser cookie and cache spoofing. Developers refuse to make improvements to the QuickBooks export feature for confirmed timesheets, requiring me to export the csv and manually manipulate the information to be imported to QuickBooks Premier Manufacturing Edition with data placed in the proper fields. Employee timesheets should apply mid-shift position changes to the appropriate time periods rather than applying both positions to the entire shift. Employee rest and meal periods are not calculated in accordance with Oregon State laws and will deduct paid time that an employee has worked if they miss a break or clock back in early. Overtime rules are not made possible for Oregon manufacturing companies based on percentage of time in position and time worked in a shift excluding unpaid meal periods. The color changes per location is a big help. It is great to be able to have the mobile app and see their schedules real time. The availability on the scheduling portion is great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its very difficult to use for teams larger than 30 people. Sometimes the schedule on the website is different than the mobile app. The scheduling wizard is no help to me with a large team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Multi-functional platform. Training portal, payroll, scheduling and messaging all in one Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Doesn't necessarily fit our industry. Would like to project cost of payroll with work units. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Scheduling wizard works pretty well. It makes it easy to schedule a large amount of shifts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's not the most user friendly system. There is still a lot of individual changes and input that needs to be done just to get things set up. Changing shifts is a pain. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the ability to color coordinate shifts, making sure my agents can make sense of the locations they need to go to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike the glitches I've experienced: sometimes shifts are not visible to my employees which is a HUGE DEAL. I also dislike the chat version of online support. I'd much rather just call and talk to a human, which seems faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Things work how I want more often than not. This is a great first step.
Copying schedules is easy, messaging is fine. The training modules are nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some default settings ( e.g. copying schedules by default is position only w/o employee - it seems most people copying a schedule would have the same staff member working those spots)
you need to be super precise with timeclock buttons or may open a screen you dont want. overall I probably dislike the timeclock the most Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The scheduling component has made scheduling a breeze for us. We can easily copy and paste shifts so we don't have to rethink the schedule every week. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The app is not super user friendly. They're definitely still working out kinks so I will hang with Humanity to see if they can improve the user aspect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have synced my schedule to my Google Cal and usually view it there, so I spent some time deliberately diving into ShiftPlanning more for this review. So the first points go to actually being able to sync the schedule to other places.
One element I enjoy is the design of the ShiftPlanning dashboard. It's clean and simple, offers nice UX, a readable font, simple icons, etc. I enjoy when software is not busy or distracting.
The Reports section is useful for a straightforward outline of my approved/declined vacation days, which I wish I discovered earlier!
Adjusting my profile is incredibly simple, including managing my notification settings or editing personal details. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'm not certain if this is a result of how my workplace uses the software, but I find a lot of the dashboard tools underutilized and therefore unnecessary.
The dashboard's home page itself is underwhelming. It shows a list of my upcoming shifts in list form and... upcoming employee birthdays? Well, that's fun I suppose. There's also a "message wall" that my company obviously doesn't use.
Some of the links don't make sense to me, like an icon you click on beside a listed shift that only repeats the same information. Okay, so it shows the weekday and the month isn't abbreviated. A lot of the reports offer metrics that don't populate any information. I can search for other staff, but can't click on them. In fairness, seeing them grouped by department is cool, but it took some digging to find what little use that actually offers.
When it comes to the actual schedule, there are different "views" to look at in. I prefer a calendar (month) view, and it's frustrating that it defaults to a "list." The view icons are one element that has never felt intuitive, and even the names, "employee view," "visual view," what am I supposed to think these mean? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is nice that humanity lays out scheduling by color and department. It works pretty well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Too much stuff has to be done from an actual computer, and cannot be done from the phone app. Also, it is hard to see individual schedules, so if a person works several different departments, they have to check each department for each day to verify if they are working or not. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that it automatically fills in approved leave Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is a whole lot of clicking involved. I don't like to make a criticism without offering a suggestion for a solution, but it does seem to require a great deal of clicking. I would also like to be able to enter leave for people as an administrator. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing I can say I really like about Humanity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The UI is pretty bad and runs poorly. There needs to be a better/easier way to setup repeating schedules. Currently if you make a mistake you have to start over for that particular person. Editing the current schedule usually breaks the entire thing for them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
