"Super Easy Tax Program"

What do you like best about TaxJar?

Super easy to use. Takes the guess work out of doing my taxes. I'm am the least business oriented person ever. I'm not good with math. When I submit my taxes with taxjar I know it's done right. It only takes me a couple minutes to get it done which is key being a mother of 3 young kids. My husband set up quick an easy excel sheet that calculates things for and I just input that info into my taxjar. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TaxJar?

No dislikes so far. I was able to figure it out real easy. I'm not a fan of having to pay $20 a month for it when I only use it 4 times a year. I wish I could pay per use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is TaxJar solving and how is that benefiting you?

I'm able to submit my quarterly taxes quickly and efficiently. It use to take me a while to figure out what I needed to submit and I wasn't sure if I was submitting the correct info. Now I know after I process everything it is done correctly. It allows me to get my taxes done on time. I use to drag my feet submitting my taxes every few months because I'd hate figuring it all out. "taxjar API and autofiling are essential to our shop"

What do you like best about TaxJar?

Using the TaxJar API, we can calculate sales tax for all areas of New York which is tricky since NY sales tax is destination based. If we ultimately need to file taxes for more jurisdictions, it would be easy to expand to collecting for tax multiple states. Auto-filing is painless, no more late returns! What do you dislike about TaxJar?

Our initial implementation of TaxJar made too many useless API calls and we got charged a lot of extra money until we noticed and fixed it. Someone from TaxJar actually notified us that we were making many invalid calls and we were able to fix the problem once we were aware of it. I would like it if they added support for collection EU VAT taxes given the changes coming in the summer of 2021 for european VAT collection. Not sure if that is on their radar of not. "Worry Free State Sales Tax"

What do you like best about TaxJar?

Tracking sales tax, registering to file taxes in states is streamlined and simplified. The dashboards and reports are easy to use. The absolute best feature is the Auto-file. Set up the state once and TaxJar takes care of filing the returns on time, regardless if it's monthly, quarterly or annually. Their customer service is top notch - very responsive and friendly - and patient when explaining things to non-tax professionals like me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TaxJar?

Sometimes going through the state auto-file enrollment wizards can be a bit tricky, especially for certain states. Although generally straightforward, there have been a couple where we needed additional information from the state, and had to exit the wizard and then start again later once we had the info. However this is very infrequent, and in the big picture, not that big of a deal. Also, frustrating that TaxJar is not set up to handl auto-filing for Colorado Home Rule Municipalities. What problems is TaxJar solving and how is that benefiting you?

So much time saved not having to figure out the tax filing requirements and deadlines for each state we do business in. It would take a small team to handle this, as we do business nationwide. We know our taxes are filed, and paid, on time and accurately. Our company has saved money by not having to increase our team size or having to outsource this to a paid outside consultant. "The best way to save money and automate all your sales tax"

What do you like best about TaxJar?

At first it takes a long time to fully understand everything about sales taxes, but taxjar made everything very easy to understand.

I'm really glad that they have a lot of tutorials and website links with information that can help you to fully understand how taxjar can help you to automate every single step of the process.

I use this service for all my walmart, ebay and amazon sales and so far I'm really happy with the results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TaxJar?

The prices for auto files are very high (specially for states for which we have zero sales. Doing an autofile myself for zero sales take sme about 3 min, and paying $25 or more for this service to do it automatically (on top of the membership cost) is very expensive. Recommendations to others considering TaxJar:

My best recommendation to other users is to be aware that there is a lot of research that needs to be done in order to fully understand sales taxes and how to automate them using taxjar.

Patience is key with sales taxes and frustration is very likely to happen, but it's part of the process and once you get around it it's not that difficult.

Not using taxjar is a NIGHTMARE, so I really don't know how can I do it without it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best solution I have found is the fact that taxjar keeps track of all the sales tax rules and keep you updated on everything. This is the best solution I have found so far (besides the fact that I no longer have to file every single state and keep track of this which takes a lot fo my valiuable time.) What do you dislike about TaxJar?

They don't make it super clear when signing up that you need to prepare your automatic filing well in advance before first filing. We had to do it manually for a few times at first. There's also no way to get tax-exempt sales from Shopify so those need to be tagged manually. What do you like best about TaxJar?

I love the customer support and assistance to EVERY issue that I have ran into as well as how simple and straightforward it is to handle nexus issues, filings for each and every state, and even for sync issues for our online platform that we use for day to day business. "Was terrified when we needed to collect from multiple states... not anymore."

What do you like best about TaxJar?

Two fold. First is the obvious handling of our sales tax payments. There's no way we would be able to dedicate the hours needed to remit the tax to every state/county/street. It's just insane it was all setup that way. 2nd, are the nice apps/plugins for our ecommerce sites to calculate the tax rates. Works very well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Occasional issues arise when there are tax changes, sometimes it takes a period of time to be sorted out. ***Some customer support inquiries do not get replied to or resolved in a timely fashion or at all.. we are struggling with this now, tickets we have opened without response for a couple weeks :( REally wish they can have more active support for when there are critical issues.. please help us!
