The customer service has been a major help. Every time I've had a question they've responded in a good time which is helpful when you're first trying to get your business going. They've helped in many different ways regarding my taxes too. They've helped file taxes in specific states that are difficult. They give the number needed to file in other states that are easy. If my product moved from Amazon, they would let me know and then I could file to submit sales tax in that state. They also let me know that I have monthly taxes to be filed which is very helpful. I like how the tool is straightforward to use. It is not complicated or difficult to set up. When I had a question about the tax rate in a certain county, I reached out to TaxJar and they replied quickly with a detailed explanation of the tax rate. I wish there was more guidance in the beginning on tax law for new business learning to collect sales tax and use. It could be nice to have some state reporting integration as well so I could transfer information easier. Also there was one issue where the reported sales tax rate did not match with the rate charged. Also, for a custom PHP website it reports out to the third cent which looks bulky. TaxJar is a great way to consolidate and navigate the complex work of State Sales Tax in relation to being an online retailer. If you are a small business or a one-man-band, this is a good way to avoid hiring a full time employee to navigate the complexities of filing with individual states. I do think that the service can be even more of a one stop shop for business owners. I wish that TaxJar could handle registration and correspondance with the state on my behalf so that I really did not have to worry about state sales tax at all. I feel a bit like if I set up my autofilings incorrectly, they could auto file incorrectly for months or years before I notice. TaxJar certainly saves time but I am not confident that it is perfect. I still worry that some day a state will come after me for unpaid taxes and TaxJar will be nowhere to be found or will claim it is not their responsibility at all. TaxJar's user interface easily organizes multiple levels of information in an accessible way. There are multiple documents and help articles that I frequently access to clarify questions and the uncertain pieces of tax law in the many states we work in. These have become indispensable to me! As a non-profit, it was disappointing to find out there are no discounts or opportunities for impact organizations to take advantage of Taxjar's services and for them to participate in meaningful work. While the support has been very helpful, I think there are more ways that TaxJar could give back to communities they work in by supporting organizations in this way. I consider TaxJar a great partner to solve a horrible problem. Each State requires registration, each State has a different website, process, tax laws, exemptions, ect.... I don't dislike TaxJar at ALL. I dislike there being sooo much bureaucracy for a small internet business. I wish there was a simpler business environment.

I do wish TaxJar had an automated solution for filing for refunds. This is NOT easy, either at the state level or even getting credits applied via TaxJar. Our type of business has about 20% return rate, so this is a big deal for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's super simple and intuitive. Keeps all my sales tax stuff organized and keeps me in compliance with all states. The scaling to higher plans as you grow is also great so you aren't stuck in the higher plans if your sales drop off. I use it with my Amazon business and I really could not live without it.
